Seize the Moment!

I think we will see that sun--I hope so! -----not too much going on here to-day--I hope!  I have given big Beau his "tick medication"--this morning-after his breakfast--Whatta huge pill--good for 3 mos---  I shall watch him to make sure there is no adverse reaction before I give it to little Lopez-----  Beau just chewed it right down--We never used to have ticks up here, but we do now--

Other than the piano tuner coming to-day or to-morrow--it looks like a fairly quiet day on the home front here.--But, one never knows for sure-- I was out with both dogs early this morning and it is fairly cool.

I was raking yesterday, and this morning I have a mosquito bite on my arm--the first one--Of course I did not have a bug suit on as I figured they just could not be out there yet---  Lord love a duck! ---  They are!

I hear it is Mother's day this Sunday---am I right?---and it is Victoria Day in Canada--the following weekend-- the 24th of May---We used to sing, --"The 24th of May is the Queen's Birthday and if we don't have a holiday, we'll all run away"--so---in Canada, it will be a long weekend---

It is a new day---- to get it right----  and we will--because , we have to---I hope that yu get time to play--

Have you skipped rope lately?---  What about "Double Dutch"?  Remember that?---Have you played "Hide and Seek"? We used to always play that after super, just at dusk---  I don't know why then?---and--"Kick the can"?--Does anyone play that anymore?--  I wonder if we would live longer if all the house wives on a street were out there having fun--????-- our kids would think  that we had "lost our marbles"---LOL ---

-I must get going here---- dogs to tend to-- a husband to check on--- and Sadie, the cleaning Lady, (who yu know is really me)--is knocking at the door---I shall check in on you all later to make sure that you are keeping strong--or maybe you are "out playing"(---as we used to say-)---and that would be a good thing-

  1. Hi Lynda! I plan on playing this evening. First Bingo, then I'm getting my warm jammies on, making some popcorn in the microwave (real popcorn not the microwave bag kind) and watching the 2nd Guardians of the Galaxy movie so I'll be ready when my friend finally tells me when we're seeing the 3rd movie at the theatre. There's a new silicone bowl that lets you microwave popcorn without any oil - unless you want it - and you can butter it or whatever after it's popped. I'm giving it a try tonight. Looking forward to some play time! I hope all your 'boys' are all happy or comfortable at least and that your piano gets tuned nicely. Hope you and Sadie have a really lovely day!

  2. Good morning Lynda. I sure remember all those outdoor games and I also remember how I could hardly get my breakfast down fast enough to get outside and play with friends. I doubt children these days even know what those games are, do they still play outside in the fresh air??

It's cooler here today so far but we have that beautiful sun and that makes it feel wonderful. I sat out on my patio for the first time yesterday and really enjoyed it!

Will that pill for ticks be as big for Lopez as the one for Beau? It's good there is something to give dogs because ticks are terrible for them to get bit by and terrible for us humans too. You're a good mom, already been out walking with the dogs!

Just relax and enjoy your day, you work terribly hard inside and outside your home!
Love and hugs coming to you, Fred, Beau, Lopez and Sushi! xoxo

WE spent all our spare time outside, as kids, I know! --And--- You commented again to-day--I love your comments----No, the pill for Lopez is much much smaller--Beau's pill was huge-But it is for 3 mos---- He has had no repercussions from it so far-so-=-to-morrow I'll give Lopez his---- Lopez is so small it would be terrible if he had any reaction-Lynda

  3. Good Morning. I remember going out to play every evening as soon as supper was over and the dishes were done. It was so much fun playing different games with your friends. I feel kids don't know what they are missing now a days. We got so much exercise and fresh air all year round. During summer break my mom always cleaned all the drawers and cupboards. So each morning we would do some and then after lunch it was to the park to go swimming. I wouldn't have wanted my youth any other way and I am glad there weren't cell phones and tablets back then. Enjoy your day.

    1. Yes, we played outside after supper--till dark--How healthy was that?--I remember when I was told by someone at school that one day we would each have our own phone-- I never believed that would happen!--- We spent all our spare time outside playing--- Lynda

  4. Miss Lilly loves both her flea and tick and her heart worm pills. Beefy flavor so she snarfs them right down. She’s been taking them since she was a little pup.

    Hurray for a quiet day!

    Seriously? No mosquitoes here . . . yet. They’re a’comin’.

Yes, this Sunday is Mother’s Day here.

Remember double dutch, kick the can, didge ball, hide ‘n’ seek. . . all those. We were ALWAYS outside playing.

    Here's to a good day!

  5. It's Kathy - yes we also need to give Daisy her Flea & Tick medicine. My husband is in charge of that and he does it on the 15th of the month. So far we haven't had any kind of bugs but I know they're coming. Daisy and I are off for a walk shortly. It's cloudy today with possible rain coming so I want to get it in this morning. Have a lovely day today!

  6. Hi Lynda: my dog gets that too. I think hers is called Bravecto & it’s differently sizes based on weight of dog. She’s getting it a bit late this year as I’m still in hospital. At least the weather’s getting nicer. Have a good evening. Brenda

  7. It's that time of year, isn't it? I dosed both cats after Carl went home. They are not crazy about getting their pest control put on, but they do recognize my authority to apply it.

  8. Hi All,
I dont think kids play outside unless its organized like soccer and softball. I loved riding my bike, double Dutch, dodge ball, hide and seek etc. We kept busy and outside all day.
Flea and tick pills are a rather newcomer in pet care. Hoping both dogs tolerate it well.
Sorry a mosquito found you already. Seems too cold there for mosquitos already. I assume the black flies aren't there yet.
Puano runner coming. Thats great. Your playing will sound even better.
Take care of you. You work so hard inside and outside.
    Hugs

  9. Lynda, not too much going on here today, either. My Sadie did a couple small chores, lots of FB, email and my fave games on my hard drive. Visited with a friend in her apartment.
We have plans for a Mother's Day get together in our Community Room for those residents who are not with family. There will be food, a Monday birthday to celebrate and lots of laughter.
I haven't seen a mosquito here yet, but even with our new window screens, I have had 2 stink bugs and a tiny beetle come through. May order another Shell No Pest Strip do deal with them.
Making myself a good dinner, and the oven is hot, so I will sign off. Hope your evening is as good as it sounds like your day was.
    Oh, is the dosage according to weight? Maybe you should call your vet before you give that med to Lopez. {{{HUGS}}}

  10. Hope the piano tuner comes today! Hoping Beau does ok after that pill, we worry about our kids. We have had some skeeters down here in Texas, bees are buzzing around the flowers on the shrubs. Have a good night’s sleep.
