I can't believe how old people my age are.

--a morning---  WITHOUT RAIN----and--WITH SUN---  Holy Cow!! I have been dusting a room---and trying to get a bit of house-y stuff done inside here--- so, this afternoon, I can rake the septic--It is SO SO good to see sun---without rain--

I'm looking at my desk here --with the IMAC---and it is so cluttered ---  bills that need to be paid--bills that are paid--receipts --post it notes--reminders----the huge printer--which I would never buy again--(Why do I need a coloured printer anyway?--I never print pictures-altho I used to-)--  smaller black and white printers are so much cheaper-------Anyway----  Himself and I have a few errands to run in town, so I must hurray-

-Funny--the smoke alarm went off yesterday afternoon---I got the step ladder--climbed up---took it off the ceiling-- and it seemed like the base was still beeping--loudly-- Son#3 was just coming in the door----I showed him the "thing" I took off the ceiling-- which it said was good for 10 yrs--It didn't seem that 10 yrs  had passed--I told him that-- so--Son#3 went to look at where I had removed the alarm from its base--

He said, "Mom, it's not that alarm--It is another one beside it"--which he changed the batteries and put both back-AND--put the step ladder back in the garage for me--Quick as a wink everything had returned to normal---I don't know about you, but I do panic when something goes wrong, because I do not know how to fix things---which frustrates me to no end!--

I hope in this day and age,  young girls  take courses in home repairs-- and mechanics in the house---  instead of cooking and sewing as I had to take-

So, I must continue on here-- Already Son #2 told me he will help me download all my pictures onto a hard drive when he gets up here in July--I have no idea how to do that--another source of frustration--altho "Applecare" just might give me a hand--

I must tell yu that I called my brother last  evening, and he told me he is very busy now taking care of everyone in his LT CARE   place----- too busy to stay in his room anymore--  I asked just what he had to do--and he  was not too sure---  what a change in a person tho--from living alone confused about everything, to now living a better happier life, still confused , but busy now  doing something or other--'Bless his heart eh?

I hope you have the best day ever----- and if it isn't going well, look in the mirror and tell that person how fortunate they are to be alive--to see the sun-

-----------------===-------- --"scuse the language---  but there are times eh?--

  1. You betcha Lynda, I panic when something goes wrong and I don't know how to fix it. My children tell me not to panic but how can we help it when it's up to us to fix it? I think our kids have to be older to understand.

Your brother sounds like my sister ~ she's now 93 and in a Retirement home but is so happy that she can help another woman who daily, cannot find the dining room to eat her meals. My sister knocks on her door, takes her to the dining room and feels so good to be 'useful' again. Her memory is terrible now and she mixes up her stories and also names but I'm so happy she's still with us!

I'll also feel relieved when you move from your big home into a smaller one and when you are living in town. It will be better all round for you Lynda.

Take care, enjoy this weather, we're supposed to have a warm, sunny week here in SW Ontario.

Hugs & love to you, Fred and your fur babies xoxo

    1. Gloria--- It's YOU! --I love it when I hear from yu--and to hear that yer sister enjoys her LTD residence too--I am so happy for my brother--Cute eh?---He doesn't know what he is busy at--but--- he knows he is busy--LOLOL-----And yes, I will be happy to get out of this massive house also--SO so much work--and as I said, I am not good at fixing stuff--and the kids dread my phone calls for help--They are boys so they do not understand--and my wee little "Cujo--Lopez"--in spite of his attitude sometimes , I do love the little guy a lot-his eyes just follow me all over the room--Fred tries to help, but--he just gets confused all the time--as he can't hear or talk very well--They are going to fix his vocal chord in June--so his voice may return--He is very frail now--kinda drives me crazy at times-- and it is lonely at times, because there is not Fred here any more--someone else who is just not the caring kind man Fred was----hugs to yu Gloria--- I enjoy seeing all yer sisters together--- puts a smile on my face-- Lynda

    2. Hang in there Lynda, things are going to happen nicely for you, it will take a bit of time. One thing at a time. Keep on doing your blogs, it helps to talk out feelings, what's going on, etc. Take care, my friend. Hugs, Gloria

  2. Hi Lynda…SO happy that you have sunshine…that helps to make everything better, doesn’t it?! Good news that brother is settling in and feeling needed…making him so much happier to have a “purpose.”
Hope that your day is pleasant and uneventful…I hate it when things break, too, because I really don’t know how to fix much of anything!

  3. Hope your errands in town go well w/Himself.

Glad that son #3 was able to help you with the smoke detector. I agree . . . .when I don’t know how to fix something it frustrates me, too.

    LOVE the simple maths! TRUTH!

Sooooo glad to know that your brother is happily helping out @ his LT facility, even if he’s not sure what he’s doing! Good for him.

OHhhhhh I LOVE that last meme. May not be politically correct but sure expresses the way things feel right now!

  5. That is so great that your brother is so danged happy now, too bad he wasn’t in there earlier, but it’s hard to get in to those places, too. Oh those danged smoke alarms, plus you need a ladder to get to them, such a badly planned item!! One one think the experts could come up with an easier way to take care of them! Hope you get your errands done nicely on a fine day to be out!

  6. My computer desk (actually a long table) must look a lot like yours. Add mi wi-fi thingy lens wipes mints, my e-cigs, pens, bitty flashlight...I could probably find more.
Love your posters today! 'Course I always do. Especially the 2give one.
Your other detector on the ceiling may be for CO2. I don't have that.
We have a partially sunny day here, too. It's 67F. Tomorrow 74F! Don't see those flowering pink trees yet that come before my lilacs bloom, but it won't be long.
Did my errands. Now going to try the new vacuum.
    Don't overdo your yard/housework, Lynda. Be sure to take time for piano, cuddling with Himself, nap with your book...or reading it without sleeping cuz it's so good. {{{HUGS}}}

  7. It’s amazing how your brother has changed now that he feels he has a purpose in his new home. You’ll probably start hearing from him less often. I always hated when things went wrong in the house. Specially when there was no one around to fix it. Now I’ve downsized to just renting so I don’t have to worry about it anymore. Have a great day in the sun!

  9. How is Himself doing these days Lynda....I've been out of the loop for a while and still have to go read your early blogs?
Hope your brother is content with his purpose at the home, he feels like he is involved and has something to do, and that is important.

I HATE IT when stuff goes wrong and I don't know how to fix it. Lucky you have sons to call. My son is an hour away. I PAY when I can't fix stuff.
Your brother will soon be too busy to talk to you.
I understand feeling lonely. These guys aren't the same people. Mine seldom talks.

  11. It's Kathy again - I missed yesterday's blog because of an emergency babysitting call. Tom, Daisy and I went out to watch our 2 very wild little grandsons. I was so tired after 1 1/2 hours that I could have easily fallen asleep. I'm with you when things don't work - I panic. I especially hate those darn smoke alarms. I know we need them but sometimes they are so sensitive!
