Justa lot of this and that--

I am late posting as we were looking at a house in town--much smaller than here, which is good--but definite possibilities ---  I liked it--will get Himself there to-morrow-

Pictures continue to come in from Grenada, Spain---Here they are sitting in a cave ---

Here is the city of Grenada --
--and a castle they are exploring---Imagine having a real castle in your neck of the woods!

---and of course more food pics

And so, we are having a rainy day here----hard rain falling---  I must let you know that I saw a Bear in town--running up the road--huge black bear--

To-morrow we take Himself to see that house-- which may not go so well as it is way smaller than this house--but--- "smaller"  to me is good!--LOLOL--Hopefully you all are enjoying to-day--

I feel like I keep harping at you all, to "Be STRONGER" than you believe you are---We must keep going---It's a big world out there-- and we are a part of it--We live in this world!---We all do the very best we can--
------------just remember however--(as I've told you before)--

  1. Beautiful photos from Son #2's vacation -- thank you for sharing. Does he look for a McDonald's wherever he visits?

It's good to hear you've found a house that might work for you and that you were able to check it out on your own. Just be prepared, though: I don't think Himself would agree to moving anywhere, and with his cognitive and physical challenges these days, his vote doesn't count as much as yours does. Maybe focus on how much easier it will be for both of you, especially in winter, and being closer to town is a bonus. It doesn't seem that anybody dealing with age-related decline wants to leave their home, but it seems that more often than not, they adapt to the new environment and more content after the fact. You have a good example of that in your own family, with your brother, who is thriving in his new place. Who knew?

  2. So what happened with the doctor yesterday . . . you didn't even mention it. Did he come? Glad you got to look at another house . . .if you like it and it will work than you'll have to convince himself tomorrow. Our rain is coming tomorrow . . . we need it . . . thanks for sending it this way.

  3. Fingers crossed for the suitability of the house and Himself finding it so as well.

Hoping for a wind change today as I've been feeling kinda "not great" with the smoke drifting down from Western Canada. All the way here? Yikes. Normally we get smoke drifting North from Kansas this time of year, when they do controlled burns of certain grasslands.

DIL is having trouble with it, too. So is my kid sis. It's worse than the normal.

    Rain would indeed be welcome!

  4. Great photos. We get to see the world courtesy of you and pilot son.
A house possibility. I'm Excited! At this point, your vote carries more weight. He WILL adjust. Gotta do whats best for both of you. Your brother adjusted and so will himself IF this thouse ticks most of your boxes.
What did Dr. Have to offer you yesterday? Sure hope you got useful information and suggestions for help.
Rain on the way here. Can you believe we have the smoke from Canada in our atmosphere down here in St.Louis? Thats what weatherman is reporting.
    Stay strong. Enjoy your day.
Fingers crossed this house is right for you and the animals and, if so, a buyer comes SOON for your big house.
No plans to.pig wrestle today. LOL

  6. Glad that you think the house you saw has possibilities. I will keep my fingers crossed that Himself will at least consider it. The pictures that your son is sending are beautiful. I don't know what I would do if I saw a bear running down the road. What did you do? Love the sign about the pigs. Take care and good luck tomorrow.

  7. It's Kathy. I love the photos that you post from your son. So fun to see real pictures from other parts of the world. Also happy you liked the smaller house. I know I am ready to be done with our home - so much work. We have a very large yard that I haven't been able to care for over the last couple of years - it just feels so overwhelming. Was great for kids to play in but now just too much!

  8. Lynda, that last was hilarious! Gotta share that one!
Maybe Himself will have a gooder day tomorrow, and will like the house, too. But if you (and your kids) like it, Himself will adjust, especially if he has his favorite things moved into it.
Yes, you keep telling us to be strong. I tell people to think of the good side of things and situations. We tell each other what we need to focus on ourselves!
Food pics are always welcome. Just wish I knew what they all are. It must really be fun to travel...to meet new people, hear different speech, see the sites...and taste the 'ethnic' food.
Not raining here but COLD and breezy. I don't know if they've turned off the boilers in my building, but I gotta try turning the heat up. I've shut off all the windows.
I have lilacs in vases all over. Constantly checking their water, etc. This is my second batch. No longer have aspirin to put in each one. Learned long ago that that extends the life of cut flowers.
I believe I'm going back to karaoke tomorrow. If I see the friend whose hugs cracked my ribs, I will tell him, "Mike, if you're gonna hug me, pretend I am a 2 year old child."

  9. I wouldn't worry too much about Himself liking it, since he's falling more and more into dementia. When my mom got so that she had some form of it, we just kept her on mood stabilizers and it kept her happy. She acted as a 2 year old would. Just pretend he's a small child. He doesn't HAVE to like it, but you do. He'll be fine.

    2. So what does he attribute the mood swings to? There must be something that is the reason for when he changes personalities,

  11. Exciting that you found a smaller house that you like! Maybe Fred will surprise you and like it too! (One can always hope!) And yes - you remind us often to stay strong - but it is always good advice! I'm pooped out from pressure washing the concrete deck around the pool. People came and opened it today.....I have mixed feelings about it - it is a lot of work to keep it clean and running, but my grandkids love it - so it is worth my effort. I only got 2/4 of the deck cleaned. Had to quit as my back was giving out and plus it was starting to rain!
