You Have It Within You!

Well--The above made me laugh-----isn't it so true tho?--
We have sun--with SO many black flies--I had the bug suit on but  but I still came in feeling so crawly--  They fly in front of my face--Beau and Lopez were out with me and probably have tons of bites---   I was told not to put "DEET" on  the pets--- that they do not tolerate it well--so, I shall go to the pet store  this AM, and see what they have to offer--for a bug repellant.----and--then there is the lawn mower--which I have to call and see if it is ready---

Isn't it just so wonderful, when a day  comes, and there are no errands-- nothing to drive to pick up--and yu can just stay home and organize a more relaxing kind of day?---But it doesn't happen often enough , does it?
There are days one needs to just sit and think! -------
Big Beau goes to the groomer this afternoon---  She has cancelled 3 times---  so the poor fella is dropping fur everywhere--

We now have huge fires out East--Nova Scotia---and there are fires out n Alberta--west--which are  now more under control-- you know, I look around here at all the bush--so close to out street--close to our house---It is becoming kind of scare-y--- like, maybe I should have an emergency kit , ready to grab with important papers in there, pet food--a few changes of clothing-- I do keep the hoses going around the house, but, it seems summers are hotter ---

As yu can see, we do have a lot of trees close by--

I best get moving here---  My older brother, Marvin seems pretty happy running his LT Care Facility--He is not too clear on what he has to do, but he loves his job--  (SMILE!)--It is wonderful how that place keeps it's residents happy! ----
I do hope you all have a good day--just remember that you CAN do  things that , you might not believe possible---  You are stronger than you think you know!

-and a smile on your face--a wee prayer--- and perhaps a kind word to someone in your life helps--

  1. Good morning,
    Loved all your inserts today.
Sounds like you have a lot of chores, trips to town and "stuff" to handle again today. Seems like we all do. Always lots to do. I've got bananas on my list after cardio class at the gym..
Those flies sound awful. Hoping they leave soon.
Marvin should be receiving his card from St.Louis soon....assuming he has time to look at it between his many responsibilities lol
Have a good day. Be safe. Stay strong.
    Hugs

Sorry the black flies are so horrid. UGH>

For sure, a quiet day is always appreciated, for sure.

Awwww, glad to hear Marvin is adapting well to the care facility. It definitely helps that he feels he has a purpose there!

Here's to a good day for you!

  3. G'day! To answer your questions from yesterday... the headaches are tension ones - like I get them even playing Bingo online (because I tense up in anticipation I guess). I have low blood pressure so that's not a problem. I ended up here in Australia because this is where the one person in the world who really knew me worts and all and loved me anyway lived. We met online before the Internet when we both used Commodore computers connected to modems and calling 'BBS's to play and read text online. We were both in the same group of computer enthusiasts and I was writing articles about this type of activity for BBS Magazine. He wrote a program I wanted to write an article about and so we had private conversations that would take up to a week for each side of our messages to get to the other person. After I wrote the article, we continued our conversation and over time shared far more than I'd let one of my grandkids share - but this was before the Internet and scams - neither one of us would wish harm on the other. One thing led to another and a year had passed and I hopped on a plane to spend 3 months visiting my friend. I stayed a year and then legally I had to leave the country because that was the end of my extended visa. We applied for me to come as his defacto spouse since we'd spent a year together, and had all kinds of documentation of our long term relationship (now two years on). They let me return with a permanent Visa on 13 Dec 1996. We were married in 2000, and had 18 wonderful years together. Here's a photo of our last anniversary together. He passed away 41 days later in Hospice care. And here I am, living in the home he lived in from the time his family arrived in Australia when he was 11yrs old until he passed. We went through some very rocky years when his siblings wanted to take the house and sell it out from under us, but we hung in there and persevered. I feel honoured to live here and to take care of the home he dreamed would be ours someday. And sometime next year, the mortgage will be paid off. My other reason for being here is that I have health care here. If I went back to the states, I wouldn't have that.

  6. Sounds like the black flies are really bad this year. Hopefully the pet store has something for the fur babies. Sounds like it's going to be hot all week so hopefully they will be done soon. Glad your brother has really settled in to his home. Hope to finally get out by this weekend so can get a card soon. Beau should be happy to get groomed if he has that much fur hanging out. Hope it does ok. Good idea to pack a bag with necessary items. Sounds like the wildfires in NS travelled real fast so you don't get any time to organize if they happen. Take care. Hugs

  8. Yes - I love days when I can just stay home and do whatever task I feel like tackling! Some days it is just reading a book! But mostly it is yard work, housework, decluttering, etc. But I get way more done when I can devote my whole day to it! Glad Beau gets to go to the groomer today! Hate to hear about your black flies! I just came in for a break from mowing. Been out there 2 hours and it is hot and dusty, but thankfully no flies! (We should always count our blessings!) Have about 2 more hours to mow to finish. The back 2 acres are the hardest as it was mostly just a farm field for many years and it is very bumpy and I sure I will be eating lots more dust! Hoping those fires stay away from you! My emergency kit is a small fireproof safe with a handle that I can grab easily. It has passport, birth certificate, etc and some cash! In closet near door so can be grabbed quickly!

  9. For the pets... Clove Oil will deter ticks. Don't know about mosquitos or other bugs, but I squirt the clove oil on my furniture just in case the cats cart the stray tick or two into the house.

  11. Lynda, I'm sure the pet store will have something to protect your doggies from the bugs. AND when you pick up the lawn mower, they will (you might have to ask them) put it in your trunk!
Thank God for small blessings, huh?
You have such a beautiful property! Too bad one of your kids or other family members couldn't buy it! Then you'd have access but wouldn't have to maintain in!
Went to the Minneapolis VA today to pick up a drug I was out of. They would have mailed it, but I wanted it today.
Around 74F here, nice breeze, mix of sun and clouds. We had a bit or rain earlier.
I saw my first butterfly of the summer yesterday...a pretty yellow one.

  12. Yes, that made me laugh, too! lol Hope you got your mower and Beau to the groomer. Always something to do. I know parts of Ohio had haze from Canadian fires the past couple weeks. High 80's all week. Lots of new plants to keep watered. I will repeat, "I have it within me" as I go back to the dentist Monday. It will be round two and two more to go. Gosh! Feels so overwhelming but my metal fillings that are decades old need to go. I am just a big chicken! I love to get cleanings but needles, NO! I hope you get some rest this evening after your busy day. Thanks for your nice blog. It really keeps me going. Hugs!:)

    2. I am getting a metal filling replaced and a crown. I had a single filling last time. Then I will have three fillings replaced on the top left and then the fourth and last time I will have a filling replaced and crown on the top right. That covers all four sides with the metal removed and all white. Yes, expensive and scary. I know you've had a lot done, too. I need to be strong like you! lol
