New Day, New thoughts, New Possibilities

It's Sunday--and looking mighty much like rain--AGAIN! I shall try to get some fertilizer on the front lawn if I can before the rain. --

- Yesterday was busy. Any day that you buy groceries  is busy--- everything about grocery shopping to me, boggles the mind--the prices---walking by certain items that I used to purchase and never gave it a thought--like --desserts--or chips--Now I look at that item and think, "Do I really need that?"-

----  The answer is usually "NO" ! --I walk on by---then there is the packing--getting it into my bins as fast as I can before another shopper behind me, or beside me is packing  up her purchases. There are times that my "paid for items" end up in her bins-- --AND--then, pushing it all to our car, loading it  in, and when I get home--unloading the heavy bins into our house.
and----It all has to be put away--- upstairs to the main frig, downstairs to the "other" frig--

You all know how it is--Most shopping days, the total bill is $200 to $300---  BUT---There is food available---so, I suppose we are fortunate that way-

Son#2, the Pilot, is winging his way back to Toronto--This was breakfast one day-- It is smoked Salmon, Hummus, with Lebanese soft white cheese, with fresh squeezed orange juice-

then--he sent a  couple pictures of Gelato
and a Chicken Burger--

He said no one speaks english there-- only Hebrew----and it is a 10 hr flight home from tel AVIV ---
I almost forgot to post the ale--which does look so cool and refreshing---

---A new day----new strength----It's the "maintaining of the positive attitude"  on some days--- that one must do---- sometimes practicing putting a smile on my face helps--- looking in a mirror as I pass by and smiling at that image in there, helps me to be positive--reminds me that I CAN do this!--

It is SUNDAY-----  ya gotta love  a   SUNDAY----a wondertful day to make it a wonderful day-

  1. It IS a wonderful day - this Sunday I treated it like a Sunday and spent the afternoon watching silly videos of Weird Al Yankovich making music parodies. I laughed, I scratched my head (some stuff I clearly don't remember) but most of all I was warm - thanks to finding my silly "Ooodie" and actually wearing it. Then I went on Amazon and bought my oldest sister (73 this year) a microwave popcorn bowl and some seasoning mixes to go with it for her birthday. Then I chatted with her and didn't spill the beans. So all in all a wonderful lazy fantastic Sunday. I wish the same for you! And now I'm off to play Bingo before going to bed and watching a movie, just to round out the lazy day. ❤️ Gaelyne

  2. You are so right about food prices....very discouraging how much they have risen....and frustrating when they quit carrying items that were a favorite and you can no longer find them! We are scheduled for rain this afternoon. I was hoping to work out in the yard today, my son#2 was going to come over and help me straighten up some evergreen trees that are slanting because of the strong winds several weeks ago. He said if I can pull them up with the tractor, he will stake them up, so I bought some metal stakes and hope that he can come today. If it rains, I will work on decluttering in my basement. I got rid of 3 trash bags of old files and stuff that I have been keeping since I retired - 13 years ago! I always thought I might need them to do some "consulting" work! Now I laugh at myself as that would be the last thing I would want to do! I am so busy just taking care of my home and yard, there is no way I would want any extra jobs! Happy Sunday - hope you have a great day!

  5. Hi Lynda: Brenda here. I thought all countries spoke at least a bit of English. Must be difficult ordering food, etc. But it looks like he did good. This rainy weather has been terrible. At least it’s supposed to be sunny later in the week. Have a good day. Brenda

  7. Grocery shopping. The entire ordeal is yucky from the expense to dragging in the house and outing it away. I tend to do small shops more frequently so the cost doesn't seem so bad. Only fooling myself but I do get banannas several times a week and pick up a few needed items.
Pilot sons Gelato looks yummy. With no one speaking English, I assume you point and hope it tastes OK.
Enjoy your day. Rainy Sunday is a perfect time for a nap.
    Hugs

  8. It's Kathy. I really do love Sundays. I used to enjoy going to church on Sunday morning but not so much since Covid - now it's just nice to relax and enjoy the day. And while we were told that today would be rainy and cool, it turns out there is no rain, lots of sunshine and it's pretty darn warm outside! Quite a blessing, for sure. I know what you mean about groceries. It was hard when the kids lived here but at least I know someone would bring the groceries in and put them away (if they wanted to eat that week!). My husband helps but it seems like there is so much!

  10. You're so right about the shopping! I heard on a tv show that it is healthier to stick to the outside aisles. That going through the middle ones is where the non-nutritious things are. Food for thought.
Your son's breakfast looks great to me! And the ale.
I had 2 bottles of beer last night at karaoke. That's all I allow myself. It takes 4 hours to finish them. Lots of people there DO NOT know when to stop.
Did you remember to get bananas? I still have three...
    On to meditation. Thinking positive thoughts for you and your brood. {{{HUGS}}}
