Motivation Monday

Good morning--AND-----we have rain--again--It is helping to thaw the lake however, which is good. If yu look between the trees, yu can see how dark the ice is ---once the sun comes out, I think we will see water--
It is May 1st--- MAY DAY---

To-day, is the song that we used to sing, "We will dance around the May Pole-Just like we did before"---Of course, I never did dance around a "May Pole",---but, my young sister did, in her school that my parents sent her to--I have pictures of her in her white dress and her and her classmates holding long streamers and wrapping them around "the May Pole"-My young sister was adopted-----My parents put her in that private school so her parents could not find her---Now isn't that the silliest thing?---  That would never have happened in to-day's world. Too bad that her mother never did find her, because  she would dearly love to now know her real Mother--her history--and it is all lost--sad---  Those days  are gone--to-day I believe there are  more open adoptions--as it should be---Can yu imagine, growing up, and never knowing your real family history?---

Now how did I ever get onto all that?

I cancelled Beau's appointment at the groomer, that was supposed to be this morning, until the 13th--This is a very busy week for me-- an eye appointment out of town, and a dental appointment ---I find I cannot do more than one  trip to town a day--because--Sadie needs me here ----(and you know who Sadie is-)-

Motivation Monday---to-day---  a new week----and  we can plan for it--
Yesterday, I made applesauce--Lord love a Duck---  That is a lot of work, but it does make such a great dessert.  I remember my dad  putting homemade applesauce  on his toast in the morning-- AND--I remember my Grampa (My Dad's Dad)- always eating applesauce--

It is time to get moving here ---Yes, I suppose we all can make a difference in someone's life --just by saying hello--saying their name,-- asking what you could do to help---even  take them a coffee--

So, until to-morrow---I hope your day is extra special--- and if it doesn't seem to be that way, perhaps--make it special---Stay Strong--We have to you know!-----Be kind to your pets also--- They depend on yu--

  1. Today will be special for me…my 91 years young ex next door neighbor and her friends invited me to fill in at their weekly Mahjongg get together. It will be the first time that I’ve been back to our “old” street since we sold/moved in early March. I have no regrets, it was necessary as we have aged and the outdoor chores were non-ending (you CAN relate)…but I do miss our gorgeous water view.
Nice job on the applesauce…looks delicious! ❤️Eissa7

  2. You've got another busy week lined up. Beaus apt can wait a bit.
Sad story about your adopted sister. Different times. No doubt your parents thought they were making the best choices for her.
Applesauce looks so delicious. Nice job. Enjoy.
Have a good day and be safe in your travels to town.

  3. My cats are spoiled babies. I was worried sick about them when I was gone to my son's house for a week.....but they were OK....just didn't have company during the day like when I am home. Homemade applesauce sounds good....a lot of work! My mom used to make something called apple butter! She would put it on her toast as well! Not sure how it differs from applesauce. And I know what you mean about making trips to town! I try to schedule all my appointments and trips on one day - but alas, sometimes it doesn't work out and I have appointments/meetings/ all on 4 different days this week....oh well - just need to stay strong and spread good vibes like you posted in your blog today!

  4. Today is very special, if it goes as planned. The kids left Fort Morgan, Colorado a little after 8:30 this morning, and it's under six hours worth of driving (not counting any stops) "home". Son really wants to see Carl for himself to be sure the injury from the dog park is progressing in its healing as I told him it was. You don't want them to worry while they are on their honeymoon, but you also don't want them to be "surprised" by something that happened and you didn't tell them about. Balance... that's life, eh?

Stay strong! We can do this!

  5. It's Kathy. I remember the May Pole. Not sure I ever did it myself but it feels like something that we might have done in school when I was much younger. We finally have sunshine but the wind is so powerful it nearly blows me over and Daisy is afraid of the gusts. She goes outside to take care of business and the next thing she is running back into the house! Have a good day today!

  6. Oh my! Yes, adoptions are different today than they were years ago. Our 2 kids (ages 28 and 31) are both adopted from Korea. DD had no interest in her birth family (except maybe for medical information). DS was interested but found many dead ends in his search, because she didn’t want to be found. **SIGH** But he know we are his family, so that’s what counts.

Sorry Beau’s grooming appointment had to be cancelled, but you know your limits! Good to honor them!

Home made applesauce . . . nothing better! And such wonderful memories associated with applesauce for you w/your Dad and Grandpa.

I LOVE that meme about making a difference. It is soooo true.

Definitely stay strong! Be kind to our Himselfs (or Herselfs) AND our fur babies.

Happy May Day, even though it feels like Winter out there! and having a mix of rain/snow. Isn't Mother Nature off her rocker!

  7. I have an adopted son. Our eldest. 2 docs had said we'd never conceive. His ancestry is half Italian and Half...I don't remember, but it is exactly what my ex-husband is. We call him #1S Son. A couple years ago I found a shirt like that on Amazon and got it for his birthday. He is 4 1/2 years younger than my daughter. Once as we were together in the kitchen, Ronnie told her to do something. She said, "I don't have to do what you say. You're not even my brother!"
I told her to not even think like that. He is just as much as member of this family as you are. There are different ways of joining a family. We told Ronnie, when he turned 18, that if he wanted us to do so, we would help him trace his mother. He never seemed interested.

Monday rocks! (now that I'm retired!). Got errands done today. I'm about to get on my exercise bike. Then comes meditation.
I bought bananas, muffins, cat food, coffee and apple juice.
I love applesauce...with cinnamon. Used to put them on toast!

    Ain't it a small world?

It is warmer here today...early 50s. Ya'd never know it though as the wind is COLD. Gusting up to 50-69 mph.

Our maintenance man actually cut the grass around our building today. It wasn't really needed yet, but he loves to do the outside work.

Hope all goes well with your appointments. It's harder as we age, but important to get out for some socialization. We have that here, too.

    Onward and upward! {{{HUGS}}}

  8. It is cold and rainy here in Ohio. I went to the dentist in it at noon. I was really nervous but they put a fan on me and while I was getting the needle the assistant took her little air tool and put it on my face with little bursts of cool air. It really made a difference! I need to go a few more times and include two crowns. Sigh!! I understand you changing Beau's appointment. I can't handle too much going on all at once. It is stressful. Good for you. Your applesauce always looks SO good! I eat apple butter on toast so I am sure applesauce would be good too. Hope you have a great week!:)
