Off to Granada we go!

It is the 24th of May weekend--and it will be a holiday on Monday here---We used to sing,-"The 24th of May, is the Queen's Birthday, and if we don't get a holiday, we'll all run away"--I believe it began with Queen Victoria!

Son #2, is on his way to Spain--Granada---

He was  at a beach in  Gibraltar and he took a picture of the "Rock of Gibraltar"--- As kids, we always used to say, "That is as hard as the Rock of Gibraltar"--but I had no idea where that was--

There she be---  Lord love a Duck! I never knew it existed until now!

--And------of course, he had to find a MacDonald's

If yu look on their map, you will see that they are on their way to Granada----- in Spain, where his wife's family were from--

It is hair day---  plus a Dr is coming to examine Himself's head---  who by the way, to-day, is doing just fine---- ( I sometimes think that I need my head examined--- In fact, Mom used to tell me when I had done something wrong, that I needed my head examined!---  Funny what you remember from your childhood isn't it?)

It has been below zero for the past 2 nights--  COLD----I must tell yu all that the Hummingbirds are arriving daily--more everyday---Some told me that they stopped over at your feeders along the way-- AND----they brought all your good wishes up here , to us , in the North--

I hope that  your weekend is relaxing--and if it doesn't seem to be, try to take time, and just think "Good thoughts"--that you ARE alive--- It is almost summer----be content with what yu get done--There is always to-morrow--AND Monday--I shall try to remember that everything turns out in the end, if I just have faith---
And, if we cannot  be in Granada, we can read our book and maybe it will carry us to parts unknown-Well, ya never know!

Remember to enjoy to-day-- There is no snow to shovel--no boots to put on--- and we are strong!

  1. The pictures that Son#3 is sending are beautiful. Him and his family must be really enjoying this vacation. Today will be a very busy day for you again. I hope the doctor gets there and is able to give you some idea what is happening to Himself and if something can be done to help him. I hope you will get some relaxing time when you get your hair done. Thinking of you and sending hugs.

  5. It's Kathy - WOW, the Rock of Gibraltar is something, isn't it! And I love the photos of the McDonald's. You get all these exciting places from your Son, that's amazing! Sorry it's so cold. It's a bit chilly at my house today too - with rain threatening. I did get 45 minutes in the garden this morning and felt some rain drops off and on but Daisy and I worked on! Good luck with the Doctor this afternoon!

  9. Oh, do I remember what my mama said. I was gonna write a book...but someone beet me to it.
Lovely photos. Wonder how many countries in the world have a McDonald's? Something to google when I remember.
Haven't seen any hummingbirds here, but there is an abandoned feeder in the back on our patio.
Cooler here, too. No cold really, just damp and chilly.
Think about what's good in life...right out of my Law of you know what. When you thinks something that's upsetting, pivot and think about what you love.
Glad Himself is better today. I'm sure he has ok days, good days and terrible ones.
I'm on here late tonight. Lucky needs running around with his wand with the mouse on the end, feeding, my night time pills and my comfy bed.
    So, til the morrow...{{{HUGS}}}

  10. Good Morning! I’m here reading daily, but just not a writer. I feel like I’m spying sometimes! Lol
Our hummingbirds are finally here. Idaho has had a late Spring. Actually, I think that we skipped Spring and went straight into summer! I planted flowers all day yesterday as well as weeded. Whew…. I’m sore today.
I’m glad that you will have someone to help you when you take himself to appointments. It’s tough. You always amaze me with your strength. I take out a friend often who has dementia and it is si hard physically as well as mentally. It is truly exhausting. But, it helps her husband as well as herself. I always have friends meet us so that I am not by myself and she hears a lot of chatter. I do feel for you.
Today I am volunteering and will be surrounded by good friends. I look forward to these days. I take my 90 pound golden doodle to doggy daycare and he is excited too! 😃
Have a wonderful day. I may not “chat” often, but I’m here and thinking about you.
