Be Awesome to-day

Rain----smoke-- about 20 C----  but----  WE ARE A PART OF TO_DAY---  It is the last week of school--Yeahhhhhh!-- I remember Mom took us out of school the last week of school and she took us all to the cottage, in Port Stanley---Mom said that we would not learn anything , even if we stayed in school, that week--that the report cards were already made up-- We felt pretty special----- I used to think that Mom knew everything, so I never ever questioned whatever she said--

Yesterday it was  Grand Daughter's family Birthday--Her Birthday is really to-day--

Here she is, holding her card from  us--The hat was a card---  This young Lady I used to rock to sleep, then carefully put her in the crib in the spare room-- I absolutely loved being able to  sing to her and rock her to sleep, in the spare room--the room which turned into a nursery--- a rocking chair--- a crib--- as the Grandchildren grew, the crib was replaced with bunk beds--and toys-
As the years went by,  the bunk beds  were replaced with a trundle bed-- It was so special to welcome every Grandchild---an honour for Himself and I to  have a second chance to get to know every child--
Now how on earth did I ever get onto all of that?------I suppose because, family Birthdays, a chance to recognize each new person as a member of  the family---seems like an act of God--

So----time to get the dogs out----in the rain--time to stop the daydreaming-and get on with this day----
Where ever yu are, I hope that your day will be awesome--

  4. It's Kathy. Love all the photos. Yes, our grandchildren grow up so fast. I remember when Faith was almost 2 she spent a week with me and it was so much fun. Then she stayed with us for a few days at about 13 - we watched cooking shows. She and her family are coming next week for only a couple of days - she will graduate next summer. Can't believe how fast those days have gone by. We are having a beautiful day here today - not too hot, nice breeze. And one of my young grandsons will be visiting for a couple hours! Looking forward to that!

  5. We are always awesome, Lynda...tho' we always don't realize it.
    Your granddaughter is lovely. The hat card was a real find!.
    It's threatening rain here. Did rain overnight. Only going to be in the 70's F today. That's ok by me.
    I found a Kandy cantaloupe type melon today. My daughter highly recommends them. I wonder if they have them where you live? I will let you know it it's as good as Cindy says. If so, maybe you can find one, too.
    I only have 2 very fast ripening bananas. Will get those tomorrow.
    I got a check in the mail yesterday for $100 from the Feds. I have no idea why, but I sure deposited it in a hurry!
    I'm sure I will think of something else I meant to say, but I can't remember now. These senior moments are not happy (I was gonna say they are a b..ch).
    Later, love! {{{HUGS}}}
