Where there is smoke--there is fire-

AND----There is no smoke in the area---praise the good Lord that we are safe--! ---BUT---- There are wild fires very close to here----Son #2, the Pilot, sent pictures of where the fires are situated-
In the centre of the above map
, it says , "Elliot Lake", where we live--and there is an active fire over to the rt--AND-----There are more--

The bottom red square in the above picture is just to the rt of where we live--- Now, is this how we are going to live, forever and for always---with fires?----  It is all "bush" around us--- Is this bush going to be continuously a problem?--It all seems very frightening-

So, one more thing to worry about!-Lord love a duck eh?-----a cup of tea is for sure,  a good thing--

A cup of tea will force us to sit down and relax---One never knows what is  the next  big worry in the world -----We may as well  relax--- get a good book, and  drink a cup of tea---
So---- We do have sun---and--  I must get big Beau out---- and wee little Lopez---
"-Another Day--Another dollar"-----It is almost a new month--WE MADE IT THRU THE MONTH OF JUNE_---  HOLY COW! ---The books balanced---WE had food-----We are not sick-(Well, I hope not!)-- WE ARE ALIVE------- That is the best ever!---  SO--ENJOY TO_DAY---
And in case you didn't know----

  2. Wishing you a wonderful Wednesday! And safety from those fires. We're so dry down here, too, so we worry about fires, too, but so far, cross fingers, we've not had a lot.

  3. It's Kathy. I can only imagine how hard it is to live so close to those fires both from the intense smoke that must be all around you and worry for your own home and property. I will pray for you and himself, that the fires are put out soon. Maybe some much needed rain will come. We are on the 4th or 5th day of warnings that our air is too smokey for most people to be out in it. I can see the haze but can't smell anything. Take care and be watchful but don't worry, it never helps!

  5. I live about 25 miles from St. Louis, MO on the the Illinois side of the Mississippi River and yesterday and today the air is filled with smoke - looks like fog from the fires in Canada. Unhealthy air alerts have been posted. You can even smell the smoke! Isn't it amazing how far that the smoke from those fires can travel??!!! It is hot and dry here....have to add water to the pool as it is evaporating in the heat! Might be a good day to jump in the pool for me! Or perhaps, I should stay inside and read a book and have some tea as suggested in your blog today! :-)

  6. Hoping the fires don't get any closer to your home.
I'm about 20 miles from downtown St.Louis on the Missouri and we have smoke again today. Very hazy. The smoke really travels. It is so dry here. There is talk of canceling the July 4th fireworks due to the dry conditions. In the next few days we'll be approaching air temps of 100 and who knows what the heat index numbers will reach. Time to hunker inside just like winter. Weather is more extreme or certainly seems that way compared to decades ago.
Take care, stay cool. I'm optining for ice tea.
    Hugs

  7. Lynda, we still have haze from the fires, too. It is hotter and storms are due tonight.
Very busy today running around on errands. Will exercise yet and make a good dinner. Sometimes I just nuke an entrée or have a sandwich.
My spelling on entrée was corrected. This system uses accent marks!
With no mention of Himself or Sushi, I am assuming (but you know about ASS U ME) that all is well.
Hopefully you're accomplishing what you want to and finding time to relax with a book or your piano, too.
I have said I perspire like an old Michigan farmer. After the exercise, it will be a comfy shower and staying in the A/C for the rest of the day.
Have you heard, 'Men sweat, women perspire and ladies glow."?

  8. Hi Lynda: We have air quality warnings here in Toronto today. It is quite smoky and it smells smoky outside. You must have it real bad today. Just heard on the news that our air quality index is the worst in the world today! So don't be spending too much time outdoors there. Time to relax indoors with a cup of tea and a good book! EnJoy.
