Don't forget to dream-

I AM FINALLY HERE---  Lord love a Duck!--So much going on-- I just cut up a bunch of fresh rhubarb-- put it in a big pot-- covered it with water--  added 3-4 tbsps of minute tapioca---stood there stirring it on the stove so it would not boil over-when the rhubarb was cooked--(like all mushy)- --about 25 minutes-- then take it off the stove--pour it in a huge bowl--and After about 15 minutes add about 3 cups of white sugar--  (to taste)- Then I put it in cellar jars--as yu don't need to eat it all at once-
--You can only get rhubarb here in the Spring--so it is a real delicacy--I made a jar for Son#3 as he kept Lopez yesterday, and a jar for his neigbour who gave him the rhubarb--(at first I soak the rhubarb stocks in a sink, cover it with water--and after it soaks overnight -I cut the socks into 1inch pieces--and put it in a huge pot to cook .

Below is Lopez (on the left)- --with Lola, son#3's Chihuahua--when he took them for a 3 km hike--and the next picture is Lopez after returning from his hike, and resting in his crate--

-and---  the picture below is Lopez, back home here, absolutely pooped out and so content to be home--

Both Himself and I are happy to be back home---  The Seniors  house we went to see, was very very nice--- perfect for us--expensive     -----the town of Espanola is busy--- -not as quiet as here---  not where we really want to be--too far from the kids--It was good for Himself tho to get away-- and he enjoyed the trip--and I guess one never knows if it is a place for one to live until one sees it--
This little girl says it all doesn't she?

Strong really is beautiful!----Here I worried before we left yesterday--about the drive  there --Could I do it?---And of course I did---an hour there--an hour back--  in high high traffic--  but--You know what?---I loved the drive----- big time traffic--transports all over the highway-- huge long trucks which one had to sail by in passing lanes--I did it just fine--- and Himself never had too much to say----WE ARE STRONG BECAUSE WE HAVE TO BE STRONG__
Enjoy your day--and don't forget to DREAM_

  1. Good for you driving on the highway with all the traffic. I only drive in the city now and don't even like doing that. It was nice to hear that Himself enjoyed the drive. I guess it was good for him to be out of the house and to see different scenery. You really are a very strong and beautiful woman that can do anything you put your mind to. Have a great day. Hugs.

  2. It's Kathy. Sometimes it's just really nice to get away. My husband and I are due for a day trip with Daisy, hopefully in another week or two. Looks like little Lopez had a great time and got himself totally tired out. I'm happy to hear that Son #3 took such good care of him! It's a cook day here today so Daisy and I are headed out for our walk!

  3. Good job. Sometimes I think success is just recognizing our limits and making adjustments as we need to. And you are so right, we do what we must.

  4. 45 minutes each way is pretty far but it sounds like the set up of those places is more suited to what you'd like. Good that you lòoked and got himself out!
Lopez had quite the visit with Lola. He was tuckered out.
The rhubarb sounds so good. My mom used to make rhubarb custard pies with rhubarb from her garden. Wonderful. I know son and neighbor appreciated all your work.
    Have a great day.
    Play your piano.

  5. You did great. I have to drive interstate to get to anything so I'm used to doing it. Big city traffic bothers me tho. I drove 45 minutes yesterday to have lunch with friends. We can do what we have/want to do! Coming out of church this morning it was a heavy rain and I discovered how fast I can walk if I have to - - sort of an eye-opener. Oh well, as I always say, I haven't melted in the last 86 years and I figure I won't now. D

  6. Sounds like a busy drive! But you never know if something is good until you see it. Drive would be worse in winter too. At least himself got out for a drive. And Lopez had a good day and should have slept well last night. Rhubarb sounds like a lot of work. Glad people enjoyed it. Relax some today. Hugs Brenda

  7. Quite an adventure!! When you mix the rhubarb with tapioca what is the outcome? Is it like a pudding?

  8. So glad the day was enjoyable for both of you! A change of scenery. And Lopez got to visit with another pup his size, wonder if they make doggie sounds to each other? One step at a time. Your rhubarb is interesting. We grew it in California, it comes back bigger each year. But does not do well here in this part of Texas, clay soil, the high heat kills it. My husband loved it, though. Take care,

  9. For what it's worth, I would go by how nice the house is, not how nice the town is. After all, you rarely even go OUT. So it won't matter anyway, LOL. And you rarely see grandkids. Don't let those issues get to you.

  10. It's been raining in Ohio since this afternoon. I have loved every minute of it. The rhubarb sounds interesting. I know people make rhubarb strawberry pies but never heard of how you are making it. I am sure if you made it, it is good! Follow your heart on not moving to that town if you feel that way. You must feel happy and comfortable. Great job driving on that highway. I could not have done that. I have travel anxiety and can only drive local. It can be frustrating. SO proud of you, Lynda!

  11. Shoot! I said I'd never be late again, and here I am. 10:58 PM!
Had a busy day so I guess that's why.
I am glad the house you saw would make a good home for you. I know it's a move. I believe you said you'd be 45 minutes away from family. That's how far I am now from my daughter!. We still manage to get together every couple months...sometimes more often. You'd probably need to find sometime suitable to watch Lopez, though.
Sometimes change can be good. That's what I feel life's about...growth and change.
    As it is late, and I see I just broke another nail, I will sign off with {{{HUGS}}}
