It's a smokey Sunday-

Good morning  from the great white north-- which is now very smokey--As you can see--- you cannot see across the lake--
Anyway, I decided to send you some pictures of "the garden"--my  little oasis in the forest---

and --the Climatis, (below) which hasn't bloomed yet---and I have been training it to grow up the wall--
So, of course, the outside has taken priority--leaving the inside---to play "second fiddle"---I have a man coming out to chop some bush away on the way down to the lake--He should be here any time--I don't like hiring people as it is costly , but-- the bush  will be 4 ft higher  , next summer, if I leave it--

To-day, our Grand Daughter, who lives in town, is 18 yrs ---It's her Birthday--and--WE ARE INVITED TO HER BIRTHDAY FAMILY DINNER---  YEAHHHHHH!---  "Granny" and "POPS"----I have decided that I want to be called---"GRANNY""__---- I wonder if I can talk them into calling me that!--- I feel like a "Granny"-----Anyway, we are "STEPPING OUT"  this evening-----another--YEAHHHHH!-

It's the weekend---SUNDAY--Lord love a Duck!---  Enjoy it! ---- Always remember----

  1. Your gardens are beautiful and you have put a lot of work and love into making them that way. I am glad that you hired someone to cut back the bushes rather than tackle them yourself. Happy birthday to your granddaughter. Enjoy your time with family today.

  4. It's Kathy. Congratulations to your granddaughter turning 18 and how wonderful for you and himself to get out for the party - and you won't have to cook dinner! I love all the photos. I wish my yard looked as nice as yours. It did once but years of pain and horrible weather and recovering from surgery has let things go for too long. Now I have to be patient and do what I can. Maybe it will be lovely again one day!

  6. Your gardens are lovely! Now we know why you are so busy weed wracking around all that. I'm glad you hired someone for bush trimming. Yes, I know it costs money but you can't continue doing it all. You need a break.
The smoke sure does look thick up there. Hoping things are ok.
Madeline is 18. Thats super and even better that you get to go OUT and not have to cook. LOVED the insert about making plans sounds fun until you have to get dressed and actually go. That is so me.
    Enjoy the BD celebration.

  7. Happy Birthday to the granddaughter...........
You need help with the yard....................so hiring someone
is what you need to do. You have to take care of you FIRST!!!!!!!
so you can take care of Himself.................
    this.....................is called self-preservation.............

  8. Happy Birthday to your dear granddaughter! In the US she'd now be old enough to vote, to smoke, to join the military.
Your gardens are lovely. What a lot of work you do! If you stay for the winter, please get help...even if you need to pay them. Hmm...you could start a 'go fund me' page. It may be on FB.
We didn't do bingo. Only 2 of us showed up. The caller doesn't think it's worth it for only two.
Had a bad night last night...cramps in joints...kept drinking figuring I was dehydrated. When the cramps stopped, it became (all on my right side) sciatica, hip, knee and ankle pain. I did not put a pain patch on before bed or take a pain reliever. In any case, I did it late morning and took a nap. I have rarely been doing that.
You and Himself have a marvelous evening at the birthday party! It's fun to get together with the family you love.
You never said whether or not Himself still wears his ears. I am wearing mine. Do so when I'm with other people.
