I heard on CBC radio this AM., that there are right now 138 fires in Northeastern Ontario --That is where I live. I have not seen the actual fire but we have smoke--- and--where -there is smoke--well, you know--there is fire-- scare- y-- and I received an email on what to prepare in case of a fire--- but--I thought--we don't have fires around here--- but--WE DO I GUESS!-- One thing they said is to keep the car full of gas- because there will be long line ups at the pump if a fire was close--load up on cases of water , just in case--I must go back and re-read it all--
We had another "showing" of this house-last evening-- WE took big beau and Lopez in our vehicle and drove around--FOREVER----at least it seemed forever--(It was for about an hour)---but both dogs were howling--- plus himself was upset--- They said we could stay in our house--out on the deck--or something--but--we decided to just get out----- The mosquitos were terrible to leave dogs in the pen--
I kinda liked the above-----I really have been "good-er"--and "badder"----but--- what you see is what you get--kinda cute! ---
Good morning - I had never heard of Melona Bars but looked them up and they look delish. Right now my favorite is the Klondike bars - any flavor. I buy bars or ice cream sandwiches rather than a carton of ice cream for the sake of serving control. No more than one a day!! Had to laugh at the description of driving around with the car full. Today is an easy day for me so I'm sort of loafing and then will be out this afternoon. Have a great day! D
ReplyDeleteIt was not nice driving on every road around here with all those animals---plus a grouchy man-- I thought I was going crazy--I must rethink all this--maybe stay IN the house-- when people come thru--or---stop all these people ---LOL--Lynda
DeleteI love your images. The first one - I'm no good at getting up in the mornings, especially living alone - but my cats really try to help and I am trying to work on it. Trying new strategies like going to bed earlier. And the little girl dancing ... oh I love that one! Those fires are starting to really weigh on my mind. I know they're a long way from where my son and grandkids are, but they can move so fast. And I'm worrying about you and your family and town too. I'm glad you got an official Email about how to prepare in case you need it. I have a list too, just in case, since fires here happen often enough. This area where I live has been free of fire for the last 20+ year, but I have a horse paddock (field) across the road from me that's big and often has quite long dried grass. It just takes one idiot. Favourite thing to eat? Oh easy. Food! In the guilty pleasure department lately I just really crave dark chocolate with caramel. I don't know why. Raspberries are my favourite fruit. Like D above me, I buy things in 'lunch size' packages so it means I only have an actual single serve. I do that with Twisties which are exactly the same as Cheetos crunchy but named different here. I use them for times when I need more salt. But the small bags keep me from blindly eating an entire larger bag without realising until it's too late. My absolute favourite thing to do is write - can you tell?? It's true! And the other thing is to play quiet games on my tablet. I have one that's colouring and another that lets you do cross stitch patterns. I find these help with my hand / eye coordination since I have a tremor and it makes games so much more um ... challenging. And of course, solitaire on my tablet. Speaking of which, it's late, I'm tired and I have a birthday lunch to attend tomorrow. At a Chinese restaurant. One of my favourite places too. So I'm off to bed. G'night! Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteGayleane--Yu are quite an amazing person! Yu have cats too--We have Sushi who came here because we used to feed the birds and she was eating bird seed-I thought that sorta weird--a cat eating bird seed--so--I put out dog food--which she ate---and eventually I trapped her, and was going to give her to the pound, but because she was feral---eventually she moved in--was a kitten--was wild--lived under our bed for 4 mos--and she is 7 yrs now --and our cat--
DeleteHmmmm raspberries and dark chocolate sound good--and--LOLOL--yes, yu do write and I enjoy all yu have to say---Happy yu enjoy Chinese Food--Himself is Chinese--so--my favourite food is too--anyway--getting late here -- hugs--Lynda
I found an interesting web site that shows where the fires are and other info. https://cwfis.cfs.nrcan.gc.ca/interactive-map When I looked some are not all that far from Elliot Lake.
ReplyDeleteI heard we have 168 fires in the North east--I never knew that-Lynda-
DeleteIt's Kathy. That is very scary that you have fires happening near where you live. I'm glad someone gave you a to do list to prepare in case you need to leave. I know how to prepare for tornadoes but no idea what I'd do in the case of fire. I hope something comes from the showings. I'm sure it's hard on all of you to not be at home. This weekend is our city's annual celebration and they shut down our road from 5:30 pm - 9:00 pm. It makes me very anxious that I am forced to stay IN my home while hundreds of people are outside watching the parade. I will be praying that you are not affected by the fires! Stay safe.
ReplyDeleteThy say to keep the car full of gas-- Fires are frightening-- There is so much bush around-and no rain -Lynda
DeleteAt least Big Beau isn't losing his cookies any more from going on a car ride? Good luck with the house showings!
ReplyDeleteHow showings are the pits Barb---Hugs to yu and Carl-Lynda
DeleteHi Lynda: Liked all ypur inserts today. The fires are close enough to pay attention to news reports. Glad you have a bag ready to go if needed. I thought you had decided to stay where you are and just get help with the outside work. No surprised himself was upset. My favourite food is dark chocolate in any form. And they say that it is better for you than other kinds of chocolate. Will have to try Melona Bars - they are ice cream - I think. Glad you got to play the piano gives you a chance to relax a bit.
ReplyDeleteYe, I think we will end up staying here-I keep looking for a smaller property but there just isn't anything suitable--Hugs, Lynda
DeleteHappy Friday! Nice to hear you had another showing! The driving around isn't fun but I guess it worked. I think tomorrow is the last day of air quality alert in Ohio then rain on Sunday. That will be so nice. Hope you get rain, too. It's great you received an email about how to prepare. I doubt the US would ever do that. Cananda is so much more on top of things. My husband was stationed in Canada in multiple places and tells me that often. Oh, wish we had melona bars! I bet they are good. My favorite thing to do is watch and listen to my birds. My favorite to eat is indian food and ice cream. lol Have a great evening!:)
ReplyDeleteWE all love ice cream--LOL--and we really need rain here too-Lynda
DeleteYou had showing....might have been the person looking from the road the other day. Do you have a plan IF your house sells? The fire situation sounds very serious up there. I'm glad you got some tips on how to prepare if an evacuation would become necessary.
ReplyDeleteRiding around with Big Beau and grumpy DH for a long while does not sound like fun for you.
Happy to hear you played your piano.
I have a lot of favorite foods...hard to pick just one.. .. favorite activities include walking, exercise class and funny movies..
i love to laugh. I love ice cream and American version of Chinese foods.
Enjoy your evening.
Hugs
Holy cow!--I love ice cream also---and yes, mybe we will stay in our home when people go thru--maybe dress up as the cleaning lady--Lol-Lynda
DeleteDriving around with husband and two dogs in the car for hours- not fun but on the plus side....someone was interested in your house! Had to laugh when you said you had to clean dog hair and slobber out of your car! Speaking of which - my brakelight was repaired this morning but the part for the tail light came in damaged, so I have to go back on Monday to get it fixed as they ordered a new one....sigh...but on the plus side, it will be fixed! Your fires are scary! Glad that you are getting info on how to be prepared! We are having air quality issues from the fires all the way here in Illinois...southern area close to St. Louis, Mo. Praying that your home and family are all safe!
ReplyDeleteHi Sandra--Yes--There are fires and no rain---=-kinda scarey-- and--that driving around waiting for the people to leave is terrible---- Next time I just may stay in our house-- Lynda
DeleteAnd I am late commenting. You may not even see this. Let me know if you do.
ReplyDeleteToo bad you couldn't have left the dogs at your son's house or something. Then you could have maybe treated Himself to McDonald's.
Maybe next time. Your house will sell, dear. The perfect family will want it...just as it is!
All for now. It's late enough for me to 'hit the hay.' (1104) {{{HUGS}}}
Yes I saw that yu had added a comment--- --So, we are driving 45 minutes away to Espanola--to look t Srs houses --put our name on their list if thy are nice-and thy look like they will be--and we will have a place to go to if this place sells this summer--Our kids are having a fit because we would be moving out of town-only 45 minutes away tho---Fred wants to stop at the Chinese restaurant there-- I will chat with yu this evening my friend--Hugs, Lynda
