I Just Hugged YOU in my Thoughts

We have the sun--and the wind--so, that wind is blowing away the black flies and mosquitoes-which is wonderful! This afternoon I will work outside in the garden----This morning I  cleaned up--dusted--the main level--there is never a dull moment around here! ------

Himself is not in a good mood--so, what else is new eh?--I try to visualize myself at 95 --- would I be  acting like he does?--  Lordy Be! I sure hope not!-- He has lost his ability to hear--- and now his ability to speak properly--which I am hoping can be repaired in his surgery on June 16th-and he has become very frail--I think the wind could blow him over--Lordy be eh!--- Because of all the problems he has, he becomes VERY angry --very frustrated--So, that is what I deal with--as do so many other wives in this world, I believe--

Son#2  , the Pilot. is winging his way back to Toronto--from Dublin, Ireland---Of course he sent food pictures--

This was the freshly squeezed orange juice with Juicy bits--or "Pulp" as he told me--This seemed to really impress him!

I presume  the below picture is the Bangers and mash--

and below is Beef and  Guiness Pie--I am not too sure what is what here---

-to-day is much cooler-- nice weather to garden---Oh--I must tell yu that my brother, Marvin called last night and told me that 3 more cards arrived and he sounded SO SO happy to hear  from whoever sent them.--I asked where they were from, and he tried to read  the envelope and I knew he could not tell me--but was he EVER proud! --He said the staff at his LT CARE Residence  think he is pretty special--
because cards arrive for him, from all over the world. so thank you to all who took the time to make an old man happy.

I think the above is good advice--the secret to living  well- and longer----is--to eat half, walk double, laugh triple,  and -love without measure--so----I am sending you a huge hug----Did yu feel it???

  1. Lynda, love your 'posters'! I collect quotes, proverbs, etc. and will add the Tibetan Proverb.
Our weather is better, too, mostly cloudy, breeze...doesn't deter the flies much, though.
You answered me yesterday that your daughter is arriving June 1. It was June 5 when you told me that. Did you mean June 10?
Not much going on here. May do another load of clothes...bedding this time. It never ends, doe it? Even when you're old and living alone. (my kitty doesn't dirty many clothes ;-)
I really enjoy us sharing each other's lives. I fought all this new tech to begin with. I thought: how about face to face conversations, phone calls, letters in our mail box...Now, however, I don't know how I'd do without my smart phone, Kindle, desk top pc and smart tv. I get my internet free due to my low income. Daughter bought the Kindle, smart tv bought before I retired. (I did have to replace it once. Paying monthly for that).
Himself must not understand what's happening with him. That makes him even more frustrated. God willing, we will not go there. I read in an important study, it was found that people who have on-line friends, games, books, etc. almost never get any kind of dementia. I think we are safe, girlfriend.
    Please enjoy your day, and your night, too. {{{HUGS}}}

  2. The pictures of food that your son sent look really delicious. It is nice to hear that your brother is enjoying being in his new residence. I mailed a card for him last week and hope it was one of the ones he received. They are warning people about being outside if you are an older adult or have health problems especially with breathing due to the smoke in the air. Be careful when you are outside and possibly wear a mask just to be safe. I sending you a hug in my thoughts and wishing you a good day.

    1. Hi Madeline-- Thank yu for making Marvin think he is special!-- Well, his LTCARE place think he is special---with the cards coming in--He does sound happier in there--thinks he has a job--- He is not sure what the job is, but he says he thinks he checks on the other residents--LOL--- happy for hm--Lynda

  3. It's Kathy. Thank you for the hug, yes, I felt it. And I love the meme about eating half, walking double and laughing triple. Such good advice. And just yesterday my husband tells me we're getting old and our bodies are deteriorating - not on my watch!!! I am finally feeling better after a good 2 weeks of being sick. We have a cooler day too and I'm going to get out to do some gardening too! Yes, I'm sure himself is frustrated that he can't do the things he's always done. I hope the surgery helps.

  4. Well, glad that the wind seems to be blowing those black flies away. We had a bit of rain this morning and I think the air is a little fresher! I am glad.

So sorry to hear that Himself is in a poor mood again. **SIGH** Why doesn't he want to wear his hearing aides. They'd help so much. I can only say that if I didn't wear mine I'd be a total . . . witch! It is frustrating not to hear properly. Anyhow, moving on. Sending ((HUGS)) to you.

Oh the food looks delicious. I remember having bangers and mash when I was in London. AND beef and guiness pie. so good.

Here's to a good day and will take the advice in that Tibetan proverb!

  5. Hi Lynda: Love the Tibetan Proverb - if we all could do that - wouldn't life be better! Glad the wind is getting rid of the black flies & mosquitoes. Hope they don't let them come back!I should hopefully be able to get to a store soon so will able to get a card to send your .brother. Sorry himself is not doing well. If only he would wear his hearing aides. that would help. If he is so frail he needs to be careful he doesn't fall. More for you to look out for! Hugs Brenda

    1. Brenda---- Himself was better this evening-It comes and goes-If he would wear his ears, yes, that would help--but he thinks he knows everything-I try to not let him bother me--but---- there are times I'd like to bop him over the head--LOL--Lynda

  6. Love the secret to living well plus all of the inserts.
Sorry DH is cranky. At 95 and frail his world is small. My DH is 76...horrible vision, profound hearing loss plus a myriad of heart and health issues. I hear YOU. I understand.
I sent Marvin a card from St.Louis to add to his collection. I said I was a friend of his sister. Im happy he's happy.
Please don't overdue it inside or outside. Stay positive and content.
    Hugs

  7. Wow, I wouldn't be able to deal with all that you have to deal with. You are an amazing woman! I'd be staying about as far away from himself as possible. Note: I live alone and quite LIKE it that way, LOL

  8. I have to admit I love your son#2's food photos... as we virtually follow him around the world, winging his way through his career! And I read about your Himself dealing with the issues of aging, even while observing the bits that I struggle with myself. I hear the news reporting that tinnitus is linked to dementia, and my ears ring at the thought. I know my right eye is practically blind (not entirely but noticably) and something is going to have to be done about that cataract. Getting old-er, not for wimps, as we tell one another.

Hugging you in my thoughts, too. Hang in there, and keep on keeping on!

  9. Sorry to hear that Fred was having an off day....so many problems as we age! I just hope to still be here to see 95! I was having a great day - getting a lot done as my grandson came and mowed all 4+ acres for me while I weed whacked and mulched trees.....then I went to a book club meeting at my library and backed into a pole and broke the back tail light of my car! I am sick about it. Another unexpected expense! And my back up camera never beeped as the pole was in the blind spot! Oh well - I guess it could of been a lot worse....at least nothing but the tail light cover was damaged. Sure took the wind out of my "good day"! And thanks for the hugs!

  11. Gaelyne ---- Yu always amaze me-- I enjoy everything yu say---- I heard this AM that the interest rates at the bank are climbing once again--how on earth can that happen?--We still have this house listed --on MLS-- --but--with such high interest rates, who would ever put that much money out?------looks like we are here to stay-- Yu manage to hire out help-- over the next yr I will have to I suppose----Oh well--at least we have a house--L0LOL-- a bit too large but its ours--
Good for yu to get to bed earlier---I had to change my habits also--used to stay up till after midnite--now in bed by 9pm and I read --I do enjoy reading Catherine Cookson novels on my Kindle--I do agree--getting all the bills paid--on time--these days--is a challenge-- One certainly doesn't shop for clothing much anymore---- and I must admit , I am careful what foods I buy--nothing too frugal-- Do yu ever think times will return to the good old days?- --Lordy Be!--- Big hugs-- It is 8am here--and we need bananas so I will get offa here-- Hugs to yu-- and yes, remember-- Early To Bed--Early to rise, Makes one Healthy, , Wealthy and wise!----= My Dad used to say that-- Lynda
