This and that, with Dreaming of Cruising around---

-and we can dance--LOL--It is Saturday -----Ya gotta love the week--end!

--and--I WENT TO SEE ANOTHER HOUSE---It needs renovating --plus, I feel it is too large, plus, too many stairs for Himself--so, I have come to a decision--We either stay here---  till we die-- (Lordy Be!)-- --or------  We could buy a slab, with a huge yard----and renovate the interior, plus add a garage-- and there are a couple of those homes on the market, with nice large lots--Financially, it would work out to the same am't of $$$$  I believe-------

So----no more trying to find the perfect place----because--there is no perfect place--"cept here I guess--I truly am tired of "looking" ---Maybe , it will just happen--- (but--- I sorta know that is NOT going to happen!)--

So, I returned home, with little Lopez screeching--had to get out to do his business---  in the mosquitos ---Beau, Lopez and I danced round the yard--trying to avoid the Black flies and the bugs---AND---- it is time to get the chores done---and it is almost noon-- (No more looking at houses!--I get nothing else done--)

Did I tell you that I actually went and bought some new "DUDS"--? -All my clothes were falling off me--and I was resembling the "Bag Lady"---I learned that not only groceries are pricey--- but--new outfits are also!

So----  I guess I made myself a priority-- at a terrific cost-- and  after removing all the price tags, I now have a choice of  4--"runaround town outfits"------(Himself never hears of these splurges!)--

It is a VERY long time since I have stepped into a Ladies clothing store--- how about you all?--  In this high cost of living, have you bought anything new for yourself?--

So , it is time to move this old body--- get my house-y stuff done so I can get working in the yard this afternoon--This is never a dull moment in our lives is there?-- You know, wouldn't it be so amazing to go on a cruise?----- like--if we all went----  and we would sail around and not do a thing--just sit in those lounge chairs on the deck, that you see in pictures?--It would probably add years to our lives!

-Dreaming here-------I hope you make this weekend special---We are alive! What a precious privilege that is!

  1. It's Kathy! WOW, good for you for making yourself a priority. I had to do the same in 2017 when I dropped 40 pounds after my first knee surgery. My clothes were falling off me! But it's been hard to lose the last 30 and after my back surgery I gained 10. So no new clothes for me... YET. Now that I'm finally 90% healed I'm hopeful that I can start losing weight again! I'm also glad that you've decided to sit tight at least for now. I do hope you can get some help to keep your yard work done. Have a great day!

  2. Well, sounds like you’re coming to that realization that there will be no perfect place. **SIGH** But if you do decide to move, there are ways ot make a new place yours. Takes time and $$$. *SIGH* But for now, at least you’re settled on the reality that there is no perfect place.

Good for you getting yourself a new outfit. Making yourself a priority . . . is a priority!

HUGS and hope you get SOME YOU time this weekend.

  3. Good for you for buying some clothes. Lord knows you earn them. Glad you have stopped looking at houses. I think you would not have found anything suitable. Not only would it be difficult for himself to adjust, just think how bored you might be without as much to look after. But it also think you need to get help with all the outside work as it is far too much for you. Especially in winter with all the snow and ice you have been getting! Relax and play the piano later. 4. Trust you find some peace with your decision about now looking for a new place. Lots to think about. So glad you told me yesterday that it was a Uranium mine that he and I visited. The kids refused to go to one more mine and I do believe that was the last one. He was a geologist/metallurgical engineer and we could take the expense of the trip off our taxes if we did something in his field. Had to do with the pay arrangement with the college. It was 44 years ago because one daughter had just turned 16 and she drove to get gas before we left the area and had a very minor bump with someone. Strange the things you remember but about 2 weeks ago I had been trying to remember what type of mine it was. D.

    1. They mined uranium here--There were 14 Uranium mines here--- The houses the miners lived in were turned in a company called Retirement Living and these houses are rented to Senior couples--I used to work for Retirement Living touring thevcity with prospective Seniors--Lynda

  5. Lynda, your ordeal would make a good book or tv show, Plan Ahead!! Make that move when bodies and souls are still able. Think about living and not cleaning and cleaning every single day! You could have gone on cruises and visits a long time ago…Instead of spending so much money and time on keeping a house going. And now waiting to see whomever goes down first. Then it will change in the wink of an eye, with little choice. I’m downsizing now, clearing things out every week already. But folks as we age, are a stubborn lot….oh yes, it’s hard.

  6. How exciting you got some new outfits. I order tops every now and then. No place to shop here in the Ohio cornfields without traveling. lol I guess that can be good and bad, right? I'm not sure I could go on a cruise. It seems like it would give me anxiety. lol Just being out of my own control. Wish I wasn't like that about travel. My husband lived on ships and submarines for years in the Navy and loved every minute of it. I know your house stuff will all work out. You could build a small house just like you would want it but that would be a hassle, too. Everything seems so complicated at times. Stay strong and let it work out the way it is meant to be. Tomorrow is Sunday! Get some rest!:)

  7. Lynda, you gotta believe that the perfect place to live will appear! Could it be where you are now? Well, can you find someone to help you out with all the outside stuff?
It's a beautiful day here. 71F, sunny, light breeze.
Going to karaoke tonight. Haven't experienced this deejay. My friend that I normally take doesn't like him. That means no bariatric walker for me to load.
Hey, we could do karaoke on our cruise! Where to? Caribbean? Hawaii? That would be my choice cuz we could swim with dolphins, too!
Let's keep dreaming, keep following our intuition and keep believing that it all will turn out well for all those concerned.
    Love ya! {{{HUGS}}}

  8. Just thinking about the effort involved in house hunting and selling and moving... I completely get choosing to "not"! I remember my parents discussing moving into "senior" places and finding that economically, they could hire the grass mowed and a cleaning lady... and stay where they were. I think your situation might require a bit more help, due to Himself and his mental issues, but even then, familiarity might be of benefit to both of you.

Hang in there! (((( hugs )))

  9. I hit send before I finished. It is not going to help either of you if the
stress of downsizing your things you love like piano & clocks, causes you or Himself to have a heart attack. The stress I went thru put me in the hospital for heart stents in March.
