Hasta manana, Iguana-On the bus, Octopus!

so--"Cupcake"-----  Whatcha doin' to-day?--LOL----  Did anyone ever call you "Cupcake"?--  I have never had that term of endearment bestowed upon me---  but, it sounds like a "Duckie" thing to be called!

Mornings are always busy here--Lopez and I "hit the back road" -I wore my famous bug suit--  and I put Lopez wee coat on him, to try to deter the bugs from biting his tummy--AND---- HE DID HIS BUSINESS--Beau and I had been out before that, but just in the yard---  and as we were walking around, I heard a big flock of geese  passing over, honking away--funny how they know to wait to fly north , when the days are warmer and summer is really here!

Well, yesterday wasn't all for nothing--this "house business"--  I have stopped looking--Yesterday's house, that I went to look at, had no furnace--- no furnace , here in the North-!-no closets for your coat and boots when you come into the house--the stand up shower was in the basement-----as well as the laundry--and very old machines--- -'stoves-(in fact the stove was not working)-'friges------all old--and this was not unusual--  A lot of these homes for sale were the same--so----as Mom used to say, "We should be thankful for small mercies"-- and stay put!

Our daughter and her family will arrive soon-- exciting to have them! --  They are from Medina, Ohio---I have been washing beach towels for them to use as I told her, don't bring them--I have lots!  --And, I guess, this afternoon, when the grass dries,  I will cut the grass--Son#4 said he will come out and do the hill, as that is the hill I fell down into the garden last summer , and when I made the momentous decision to get out of this house----(which may never happen!)--  Lord love a Duck--Oh well----

It is a sunny day here--smoky, from all the fires in Quebec, they tell us.---  There are fires in Alberta, Vancouver, Ontario, Quebec and Nova Scotia--So far, we are safe around here--
-So, we are here--having a good day--trying to think positive about the future------  and hopefully all is well in yer neck of the world--
See you later, Alligator!----  Gotta go, Buffalo!--Can't stay, Blue Jay,---Time-to scoot, Little Newt!-----------Just some cute sayings for you to keep in your head--and hopefully put a smile on your face---- I hope that wherever this day brings, you remember that you are stronger than you believe you are!

  1. Good morning, Lynda! It’s Sunday! Hope you get a wee bit of rest. You are probably busy for your company coming. How exciting! Tell your daughter your biggest fan lives in Ashland! So close to her and to bring you back! Lol Have a wonderul visit! Hugs!

  2. Good morning,
    Your rhymes made me smile.
The house you looked at sounds dreadful. What a mess. If you stay, I'd continue to purge and pretend you are moving as life changes can and will happen...and its less to clean :)
I'm so happy to hear that your daughter is coming. Thats great as its been a while. Of course DH will be on his best behavior as she's unaware of what you deal with at times.
Help with the yard IS necessary. Hope you can nail family down to weekly, consistent help
Your walking outfit sounds like quite the fashion statement lol
Keep your positive attitude. Keep smiling. Stay strong. Be happy.
    See ya later alligator.

  3. My mother had a lot of funny sayings but your mention of 'Duckie' reminded me of one I'd hear often in exasperation. "Well that's just Duckie!" she'd proclaim - and you knew she was frustrated because of the sound of her voice. She would have loved you, and she'd of naturally picked up on our weird Australian phrases without batting an eyelash (another one of hers). We had a lot of fun together. I actually LEFT my house today, got in the car and went to the grocery store for some bread and then to the pharmacy to pick up a script I requested last week, I think. I came home exhausted, but I left home. And I survived. And kept my head up most of the time (I'm a bit hunched over and have my chin on my chest way too often at home). I need to get out more, if only to fix my posture! Your daughter and her family probably pass by my hometown if they travel up I75 on their way to the UP and further up into Canada. Saginaw is on the mitten right next to the 'thumb'. Although they might just cross the bridge at Detroit to get to Ontario, come to think of it. I've come across both ways. Anyway, I'm just procrastinating on going to bed, so I better get cracking. Sadie is coming tomorrow to have a thorough clean. And for once, I'm not Sadie. Yes, I hired someone who does cleaning that I trust. I'm just not up to speed yet and I kept looking and thinking awful things about myself when I really should give myself a break. I work hard, and I really have not had much energy left at the end of the day - or any part of the day, really. So I've got help on the way. I hate to spend the money but I'll feel so much better after they finish that I do think it's worth it. And it'll give me some breathing space. ENJOY your time with your family! Hard to believe it was snowing up there just a few weeks ago and now it's mozzies and black flies. Oh and geese!! ❤️

  4. Smart decision Lynda. I'm bored sitting here so must go find something to do or someplace to go. Have a terrific day and when will the family be there? I hate to say this, but I hope Himself has one of his spazzes while their there to see firsthand what you are dealing with.

  5. It's Kathy. That house sounds awful. NO FURNACE - how does one live in the North without one. Ours was going until mid-May - I believe a first in the 41 years I've been here. Now it's the AC - so hot today already. How wonderful that your daughter and family are coming. My daughter and family will be here in July - just for 3 days as they have two families to visit and only a week to spare. But haven't seen them in over 3 years so it will be wonderful! Have a good day, Lynda!

  6. I thought the vet gave you stuff to deter the bugs from bothering the dogs...?
I still believe you will decide on the perfect abode for all of you. Dream it. Visualize it for a couple minutes...and believe it is coming.
Going to be 90F again today, but it cools down enough at night that sleep is easy.
Went to karaoke last night, and was a bit disappointed. Different deejay, different crowd (he brought his followers), only 4 people I usually see there. Time is 7-11. I left before 9:30. Only able to sing 2 songs that whole time.
About to go down to the Community Room for Bingo with my friends. That will be better.
Then to go to Walmart for allergy pills and Pepcid for heartburn.
I know you will be happy to see and visit with your daughter and hers. I wish I could see mine more often. Maybe we'll see photos?

  7. My goodness, Lynda! What a giant waste of time yesterdays house viewing was!! There should be some sort of online description of these places so that you can know the particulars before you make the appointment for a tour! Your house is fine, it’s the outdoors that is way tooooo much work! Stay where you are; get help for all the outdoor
chores. That’s my advice! Perhaps your Sons know of reliable people who do that kind of work? All in all, you have your daughters visit to anticipate….that always makes you happy! ❤️ Eissa7

  8. Hi Lynda: A house with no furnace up there! Can't imagine that here in southern Ontario never mind up there! I think that as long as you get help with the outside work you should be fine. Glad your daughter and her family are coming up. Wonder how things will go with himself while she is there. Like all the little sayings. Haven't heard of all of them.

  9. Hello, Marti here. Today is my birthday. I have been overindulging a bit here. My boyfriend from Columbus (45 min away) came on Friday, and we went out and ate decadently on Friday, and my lower GI paid for it, horrid cramping and bloat. Yesterday we went swimming, the pool opened yesterday, bit chilly for the first day, but it was 88 degrees outside. Today we drove to Columbus and went to his church (which has moved into a wonderful, big, actual Church, they were in a storefront, which I didn't like so much. He just left. Wonderful few days. I am taking off tomorrow from work, and I will go out with the lady's next door to me at the condo, wonderful ladies! We just need rain here, I never thought I'd say that, but it's been over 10 days, and the grass is very very dry. And it's been very, very HOT.

Enjoy your daughter's visit. It's so nice when company comes, but also relaxing when they GO, LOL

  10. What???? No furnace in a house? How in the world do they stay warm??? Lord . . . basement shower, old and non-working appliances – and all this is not unusual? Yes, I do believe I’d give up the ghost looking for another house, at least for now!

That is good that your DD will be visiting.

Glad you’re safe from the wild fires. Believe it or not, we have haze from the fires, too.

HUGS and here’s to a good Monday.
