Chaos on the home front

Whatta difference a day makes------  last evening, I was "in the depths of despair"----  The house was a disaster area-due to the paint Lady being here--I did not know where to put the dogs--as you can see below--
The people we wanted to rent a townhome from,  figured we should be in an area where I wasn't sure I would be comfortable in, if anything happened to himself---- The Lady just called back this  morning and she and I talked and I think she understands now why I chose that area-  so--again--whatta difference a day makes eh??---- " Never sweat the small stuff--"---  sit back and hope it will all work out--if not to-day--maybe to-morrow-
I guess one has to move thru darkness before one sees the blossoms--  for sure---

So, the paint Lady is still here-----will be for another week I guess--AND---- IT IS HAIR DAY___

--I have to leave the chaos here--and get some control on my head--- Right now I sorta resemble a Porcupine---- I guess I can safely say, never   allow yourself to go to "the depths of despair"----because, in time, "stuff" usually works out--hang in--- hopefully the  tides of time---will kick in---shut the mouth--and maybe pray a little--- and---- keep going---- BE STRONG----  BE KIND---  Be Positive--

-like these wee youngsters -----Accept that--what will be--will be--------I know that we are strong people-

  1. That chaos would get to anyone! Hang in there - it will slowly get back to "normal". Won't it be nice then!! I was looking at the pictures for several homes for sale in this area (just curious, not to buy) and I could see how much the clutter in a house detracts from it. Had never noticed till you told about it. Then I looked around my house and yes, it is the same way. Oh well - I'm not selling. Maybe I can do a little at a time. Or maybe not.

Have a nice day after your hair is done and try to find a corner of the house to relax in. D.

  2. Oh that *IS* chaos indeed. I have clutter here and have been fighting it my whole life but now I'm doing it by room, which it turns out means if that room is full, then the stuff to go needs to have a place before it's carried out to my little car to go to the 2nd hand shop I like. It's gonna take a lotta car loads so I'm thinking of doing just 3 boxes a week and take those then slowly there'll be some breathing room and my stack of boxes to pack things in can maybe get broke down and I'll wait for the next supply. I get some regular grocery items delivered so there's always going to be a new supply of boxes. I think 3 boxes a week is actually do able, compared to being absolutely paralysed by trying to clear an entire room. It took 20 or more to get to that state (the back bedroom especially) so what makes me think I can tackle the whole thing in a week? I'd absolutely hate that week! LOL. Nope, slow and steady. Hopefully you'll get through this week unscathed and can look at a beautiful room all fresh and lovely. I'm not moving, but I'd love to have family visit someday and have a spare room they could enjoy being in. And then there's the former 'Man Cave' which is now my Ready Room. Because I use it to get ready for bed, ready for the day and ready to leave the house. This was the master bedroom and the front windows get the brundt of the summer sun so it's also the hottest and stuffiest. One day I'll put an A/C in there but until it's going to be used again as a bedroom, I just don't see the point. Anyway, I could talk ideas for decluttering my space for days so I best go to bed and prepare for another day tomorrow and be grateful to have it! Hugs from Down under!

    1. Gaylene--(I know I am spelling your name wrong)--You sound very organized with your de-cluttering--I think just doing the de-cluttering at all, is hard-- so I admire you!--- What kind of weather are you having right now?-- Greetings to yu down under-Lynda

  3. Be strong, kind and positive IS the mantra.
Acceptance of things we can't change falls in there too.. Not easy. Not easy at all.
So....I "think" its good that rental lady called back as it sounded like you were only being put on a very long waiting list. Time will tell. It will work out as it should in time.
Oh yes, quite the chaos at your house. Has to be difficult for everyone and the pets. No doubt himself is "off base" as the house is in a state of disarray.
Enjoy your time AWAY. Hang in.
    Hugs

  4. Is the lady painting the whole downstairs? It seems like a long time she will be there.
Yes, you need to live where both of you will be comfortable and close to medical help, shopping, etc.
My hair won't need cutting for a while.
We are having our parking lot resurfaced! No more pot holes and cracks. The delivery people (except for mail) may not even come Wednesday, Thursday and Friday cuz all of our cars will be on the street and in the slots across the street by the nursing home. It will be great when it's done. Much easier for the snow plows this coming winter.
Hope you will enjoy your time with your hairdresser friend, an that when you get home, it will be a bit better.

  5. So glad to hear that you are having a better day! Hope all goes well while you go to get your hair done! You need a little break from all the chaos! Love your upbeat attitude and you keep being positive about the future! You are very strong and capable - it shows because you keep bouncing back after those more challenging (difficult) days!

  6. Maybe think the scenario through, if one of you were to “go” now, where would the one left go, right away! Immediately. To your sons? Which one? Would one of your son’s move into your house? Think the scenario through. Do you have a Will that is up to date? Now is the time…..if only we got younger rather than older.

  7. Goodness, the chaos in your home is a lot to put up with. Hopefully himself survives your trip to the hairdresser. And hopefully the paint lady finishes real soon. You are very strong and always positive and hope everything goes well for the rest of the job! Your house will look better for showing afterwards since it sounds like you are still selling. Good luck with getting the painting finished real quick. Hugs Brenda

  8. It's Kathy. I'm glad you are feeling less in despair. I understand that feeling. We have been traveling all day - Tom driving, my son Colin in the front seat with Daisy and me in the back seat. It was a very long drive - about 10 hours. My son is attending a book fair to hopefully sell some of his most recent book. It's suppose to rain so I'm not sure what we will do tomorrow!

  9. Oh my goodness . . . for sure we have to move thru darkness before we see the light!

Glad you were able to have your hair day. YOU NEED that pampering.

And for sure, we have to try to avoid the depths of despair, because things do have a way of working out, one way or another.

The INSIDE of your house looks like the OUTSIDE of ours as we are having that painted. Lord, it will be good to have that done, but living through it . . . not always easy.

    HUGS and blessings
