"Just do your best!"

---justa short blog here-- things have not been going so well , since we had movers in to take "" older than old"- furniture away--Himself is in quite a difficult mood this A.M.----I think just seeing  things he is used to having in the house, moving out--and different people here, has made him hard to manage--In fact I sent him back to bed-- I was hoping that he could go to the Lodge but, no way was he going to go there for Daycare-------Hopefully I can get him there on Monday-

I went out to cut the front lawn yesterday afternoon, left Lopez inside with him, and when I got back into the house, I saw that Himself was "not right"--very angry and abusive with me--it seems "changes" upset him--

So--- Are yu all looking forward to the weekend?-- are you dragging winter clothing out?-- lugging summer wear  to another closet?---- It seems to be getting colder everyday-----  Our docks will have to be pulled in, along the shore--soon too--lots to do in preparation for winter----

Son#2, the Pilot is off the plane-- (from Brazil)_ back in Toronto--He never commented on the Hurricane passing by his flight so maybe it was far enough away--

I must get wee Lopez out--He has not done his business----  Hopefully I can cut the Septic bed this afternoon when the grass dries out a bit--I wonder if I could carry Lopez on my back--LOL--I hate to leave him in side with himself-

I love the above meme--- Don't you wish that  you could wake up rich?--  --Just look at this girl's expression on her face!------i believe we all wake up looking like her--these days--LOLOL

I found this old picture of myself---and my Mom--This was taken after they had moved from Florida, to Elliot Lake, to be near himself and I--I absolutely loved having them here in our town--used to spend a lot of time trying to help Mom settle in---  I planted those yellow Mums that you see by our feet-- Mom loved living in Orlando, Florida , and I knew it must've been difficult for her to leave there--Her eyesight was not good, and she and I had 6 trips by ambulance to Emerg., for various health issues--I look back at that time and realize now how hard it mustve been for them both to make that move---

-----------------------------so true eh???-----  Be strong to-day----I know we all will be!

  1. Good morning!
Okay, don’t laugh BUT they do make animal backpacks. I saw one the other day with a cat! The man was walking around the store with a cat on his back! It was so funny looking, but quite ingenious!
They have them on Amazon. Not very expensive. Might solve your problem! And Lopez would probably love it!
They also have little wagons with animal carriages. We do things for our fur babies, don’t we!?
    Have a great day! Jacquie

  2. I love the idea of a back pack for Lopez. I'm sorry that himself is not himself right now - I'm sure it is all about the changes being made. I'm not a fan of change myself but I know it has to happen. A couple years ago I finally let go of a rocking horse that my dad made. It had been broken for years and of course, my children are long past a rocking horse - but it was so hard to let it go! Take care of yourself. I'm glad Son#2 is back home again safely! Oh, and yes, I was hoping I might wake up Rich this morning - but not yet!

  4. Lovely photo of you two pretty ladies!
Sure it was difficult for them, kinda like it is with you and Himself.
My bank balance was not enough to allow the 2 bills I had paid on line to clear. I called customer service. The young man cancelled my card. Now I can pay the one bill I have $ for and the other one later. And I was able to shop...Lucky food, nice cream (vegan), bananas...
The rest of the weekend will be just chillin' I trust.
We do have to stay strong and think of the positive. The old saying was, "Keep on truckin" I can also remember a sloth hanging from the limb of a tree and the words telling you to hang on!
I can understand Himself having trouble with the changes. We all do, and with his current state, I am sure it's even harder.
    Hope it gets better for you soon, and that the weekend goes well! {{{HUGS}}}

    1. awww--so difficult eh--too bad that bank did not allow those bills to go thru--That is hard eh?--- --- We only get a certain amount of $$$$ and we try our best to make it cover everything-- We all need to win the lottery--and we need to eat-- It is tough --- We all need to get a lotta cash dropped into our account--- Hugs, Lynda

  5. So sorry that Fred is not doing well....change is hard for all of us, but I think the dementia makes it even harder for them because they don't understand why things are happening and it is confusing. Another thought I had was that maybe he has some sort of medical problem. My mom used to act kind of weird and crazy whenever she had an urinary tract infection (which seemed to happen quite often!) I always knew something was wrong when she started acting "off" - not like her usual self. Happy to hear that your decluttering of furniture is making you feel happier with your living spaces! I should get rid of furniture that I have inherited too! A friend suggested calling an auction company to see if they think anyone would be interested in some of my grandparent's stuff that I inherited....I just need to get the courage to do it. Hard to let go!

  6. OH goodness. ((HUGS)) Sorry Himself has made things difficult for you. Too bad he wouldn’t go to Daycare today. **SIGH**

That is a lovely picture of you and your Mom.

Definitely have to be strong and positive. NOT EASY!

Glad Spon #2 made it back safe and sound AND his crew ad passengers!

  7. Hi Lynda: Looks like you will not be able to do too much decluttering in the near future. Obviously has a negative impact on himself. Did you ever look on the website for the Alzheimers Society. I just did and there is a booklet you can download if you go to Help & Support, I'm caring for a person with Alzheimers. I should then come up. Also, did you talk to the doctor about the medication? Doggie backpack sounds like a great idea! And see if some of your boys will visit more often. Try to have a good night. Hugs Brenda

  8. I know that there are portable little 'play area' fences for dogs ... probably at a pet store or online. I wonder if you could set Lopez up in that at a safe distance from where you're mowing in future? It would keep him out of harm's way and hopefully not howling because he'd still be able to see you.

  9. Big smile at the insert on waking up rich. It would certainly help wouldn't It? I have everything I need for today so I'm grateful.
A backpack for Lopez lol. Quite a vision. You could get a used playpen and move him around the yard BUT that would require bringing something else into the house and the goal is to send stuff out.
Change is part of life as nothing stays the same.. Perhaps DH is upset over strangers and changes in the house but you might never be able to figure out WHAT might set him off. I'm sorry you are having a rough time with him today. I certainly hope his mood changes quickly.
Lovely picture of you and your mom. You were such a good daughter to your parents. Making the move from Florida was a major change for them. They were fortunate that you could help them.
    Glad pilot is safely home.
Hoping your day with Fred improves.
I haven't switched out summer clothes yet. Its been lovely weather here in St.Louis but still wearing shorts. Love having the windows open.
I had eye apt. to see if cataracts are ready for removal. Not yet but the dilation drops still haven't worn off. I had a struggle driving home. Its 40 miles. I made it but gosh it wasn't great. Its 5 hrs later and my eyes still aren't back to normal. Hubs can't see so I'm the only driver. No grands and son lives an hour away. I do what I gotta do.
Take care of you. Play your piano for the pups.
    Hugs

    1. I am the only driver also---I had to hire a Lady to drive me to Sudbury (about 200 miles away)_as I knew I could not drive after those drops--The cataract surgery went well tho--had to hire that same Lady to drive me--one eye at a time--and what wonderful vision after those 2 surgeries---unbelievable----- I am so sorry that yu had that drive after those drops to dilate your eyes--but--yu did it!!! ==Hugs--Lynda

  10. Hi Lynda! Sorry himself has been upset lately. I hope it was better today. Glad your son made it back from Brazil. I think I would just take Lopez out in his crate. I don't trust the play pens and fences. At least not with my dogs. They can easily escape those. It seems like they can be little monkeys when they want to be. Such a lovely photo of you and your mom! I would rather live where you live than in Orlando. lo But I am a country girl from the hills of West Virginia but living in the cornfields of Ohio. lol Have a great night!
