We deserve to twinkle---

Good day---  a very short blog--The paint Lady is giving me the 'Heby Jeebies'----moving furniture so she can paint--and climbing up tall ladders----As you can see below, we are living thru a chaotic mess--

I have made a decision here--yesterday really-- I decided that yes, we will move--but not buy another house-- Retirement Living have Garden Homes ----  3 bedrooms --  2 floors--  washer and dryer on main level, 2 bathrooms-- a small yard--and they are rentals-- I am reserving the first one that comes available and if this house has not sold, we will carry both places till this house does sell-----  We can walk right out our door to the car ----  Ret. Living does the grass--

--WE ARE TOO OLD TO BUY ANOTHER HOUSE--- which eventually we will have to sell again--  I just cannot go thru all this "selling stuff" again!--

-  So between keeping the dogs away from the paint Lady--the mess on the main level, and the "man" in the house who is not the way he is supposed to be, it's amazing that I have not lost my mind-- I keep telling myself--"this too will pass"--Lord love a Duck!-- I sure hope so--Good thing we have a good sense of humour isn't it?

-Himself's Doctor just called--is going to send the Lab out here, to our house, to do blood work for Himself--so nice of him, because to get Himself into the Lab, might send me way "over the deep end"--(Mom's expression for sure!)-----

"LIFE"---- is really all about how we deal with the puddles" for sure---  There is always a way---Mom used to say, "Where there's a will, there's a way!"--

I swear that she is busy helping me write this blog---  LOLOLOLOL---------------So---- I must get little Lopez out for the 2nd time--
And isn't it a good thing  that "nothing is permanent" in this crazy world--not even our troubles????? Good thing we are strong , positive, women---

  1. It's Kathy. I think you've made a good decision. It is a lot of work to take care of a home. I'm happy to hear that all the disruption isn't affecting himself too much. And think of how wonderful it will be once it's all done. But I remember a few years ago when we had new windows put on. At least 8 men, some in almost every room, doors open and Daisy barking. But at least they were all very nice and she made some new friends! Have a great day. I am preparing for a 4 day trip - the first one in 4 years. Really hard to think about what to bring!

  2. Hello! It sounds like a great decision. I’ve always thought that when I’m ready to sell, I would just go to a retirement village. My Dad was in one and it was great. He made so many new friends. He had his own home, two bedrooms, and a patio. The mail was in the lobby and it was a hallway. His front door was all In closed and the patio went outside to the car. It was perfect. And, many had animals and of course he made friends with all those pets. It was perfect.
Also, no lawn work. I always told him if he missed it that he could come and do mine! Ha ha
I bet it feels great to have a plan…
    Hugs from me, Jacquie

  3. It sounds like a smart decision has arrived in your thoughts. I do hope that having a difficult decision made will give you peace! I swear more than half the stress in life is those decisions that we haven't made yet!

  4. Dealing w/all that goes along w/homeownership is a challenge, especially when all that needs doing, plus caregiving, falls on your shoulders. Yes, having a good sense of humor is definitely life-saving!

Glad labs for Himself will be done @ home. PHEW.

FOR SURE, I have to remind myself that nothing is permanent, too. All things pass, eventually.

You are making a wise decision, my dear. NOT AN EASY one, but a wise one, for sure.

    HUGS and blessings

  5. Loved all your inserts today. I think I will twinkle today..for sure.
House is in chaos BUT...there's that big butt LOL
..its temporary. Sounds like dogs and himself are doing ok with the chaos.
Excited to hear you have a plan. Sounds ideal. Rent and forget about all that outside stuff. Securing dependable, consistent help with outside work seems to have become more difficult every year and even though you enjoy it...cant do it all.. ...
Are there any units that don't require steps upstairs to bedroom...or a master on main level? Since himself is frail he may require a BR on main level in the future. At least its a plan...a work in progress.
Nice that blood draw is coming to your house. One less thing to handle.
Try to breathe and go with the flow as best you can.
Hugs and blessings in your day.

  6. Sounds like a great plan! I'm sure it is a relief to have a plan in place and can move forward on clearing out slowly. I'm surprised that a retirement area would have 2 stories in the cottages. Would it be possible to live on one floor? I guess I'm asking if there is a bedroom on the first level in case the stairs become too much for either of you. My house is like that so I very seldom hit the stairs.

Have patience with the confusion of the painting - won't it be nice when it is all done! D

  7. Happy to hear you made the decision, and it really is up to you! So you don’t spend the last years of your life cleaning house and doing super yard work, and snow removal! It’s no point, at this stage. Will you keep all the clocks?

  8. Ya know, I believe you're right! We are crazy! Have you ever seen that sign for people to display when guests arrive It says, "Welcome to the nut house."
Your memes are great as usual. I saved the one that showed the old ladies laughing.
Nothing doing much around here. It's been in the 80s F with a mix of sun and clouds and no rain. Just when we think autumn has arrived, summer comes back. That's fine with me. It has not been too hot...no A/C. Just windows open.
A retirement living home sounds just perfect to me. I'm kinda doing that, but I'm in an apartment. You need a house, though, with two of you and 3 pets. Hope you don't have to pay a rental fee for them on top of your rent.
Can't wait to see the done photos after the paint!
On to exercise and then meditation. Hope you get some time to relax, too. {{{HUGS}}} PS Did you see my late post yesterday?

  9. The retirement place sounds like it's a good place. I have 2 comments - do you think himself would be able to handle a move? He was so messed up when they took some of the furniture away. Also, a lot of rentals have hefty monthly fees for maintenance of the property, etc. I know nothing about these as I haven't been in that situation but know they can be quite costly. The painting looks like a big job. Hope it doesn't take too long. Love the other inserts. Have a good evening. Hugs Brenda

  11. It's Marti. Sometimes I post as Anonymous b/c it's a headache to keep saying my name.

I am SO glad, Lynda, that is what I kept telling you to do, LOL LOL. To NOT buy another house, to get a condo or assisted living. It's SUCH a headache to keep moving and moving as you age, and as you age, it gets harder and harder, and I'm only 65. I want to age in place. This is (hopefully) my last home before I have to move to assisted living. My boyfriend is moving from Columbus soonish and going to move in here with me. Of course, I am a nervous wreck about this, for lots of reasons, but I think it will be okay.
