Get some joy in your heart-

It is cold here this morning-- 50C --with wind--no rain --yet---It  will be a good day--I just feel it! ---

Already I have made one trip into town , to have 2 of the Weed whackers restrung--I take them into NAPPA in town, and if I am there before 8 am, Bill, will restring them.  I was surprised at how busy it was in town--cars lined up at MacDonalds and Tim Hortons, probably getting their morning coffee---Soon I won't have to weed whack anymore, as the weather changes and the grass stops growing--

Yesterday I was at the grocery store AGAIN---  bought a small order after  having the hair done--It is SO much easier  to put away a few groceries--When I came home, I could hear Lopez screeching as I came in the gate--He really is a one person dog--and I am the "one person"-----It makes it hard on Himself when I have to leave Lopez with him---- which is not too often---These little Chihuahuas are a breed of their own--unlike big Beau, the Shepherd---who is just a normal canine---not much upsets him-except maybe a car ride.

So I look at "stuff" and  think, "Do I need that?"-- Theodore Green , (whoever that is,) said: Most people say as you get old, you have to give up things......I think you get old because you give up things.

Harry Truman  said: "I guess the best assurance of a long life is to get yourself a set of long- living parents like I did."

Sue Banducci said: "Old age comes at a bad time"

- I like what Adlai Stevenson said :  Live decently, fearlessly, joyously---and don't forget that in the long run, it is not the years in your life but the life in your years that counts.

--just a few thoughts to  think about---

--Enjoy to-day----make to-day special----think   good thoughts--- be happy and don't allow the crazies to get you down--

  1. That last picture made me think of my Dad. He used to sing that song all the time. He had been a minister in the Salvation Army and my Mom converted him to Catholicism. That was the one song he taught us from his time in the Salvation Army. I miss my Dad.

  3. I am hoping my comment comes through to you - as the last couple of times I tried to reply, my comments disappeared! Just wanted to let you know that I always read your blogs even though you don't hear from me! I am like you - very glad that weed whacking will come to an end someday soon! I am so sore from whacking earlier this week - I did it while my grandson rode the mower and cut the 4+ acres for me! Have lots of trees and borders to cut and ususally I don't do it all at once! As for getting old - I believe you are only as old as you feel! I don't feel 76 - maybe 55? hahaha! All I know is that it is super duper important to keep moving as it helps you to stay young and in shape! Hope you have a great day!

  5. That's what we gotta do...keep the joy in our hearts. There is always a good side of things to focus on as well as focusing on the things we love.
Lots of shopping for you...and gorgeous hair!
You'll be glad when the weed whacking is done, but then comes leaves!
Just got Lucky to the vet for his annual. Had to have a prescription and the help of a friend to get him in the crate! He has gained 2 pounds. I am feeding him less, but he doesn't play interactively with me as much anymore. Maybe that's cuz of his weight gain. Wish I had room in this small apartment for one of those cat hamster wheels.
Sigh. So much to do, but we need to care for ourselves first. Maybe a brief nap with Lucky? I have a couple new books on my Kindle, I have my fave music on while doing this. I am pretty tired with all the stress of this morning.
Here's hoping we all get a bit of leisure today and a good night's rest tonight.

  6. It's Kathy. I love the quotes. I also agree with you - we get old because we have to give up things. I'm trying so hard to not do that! It's chilly here today too but the sun is shining brightly. Fall is certainly in the air! My Daisy is also a one-person dog. She loves her daddy but when I'm not home she just lies by the back door waiting for me to return! Every time I move in the house, she follows! We're besties!!!

  7. Good afternoon Lynda,
I just had hubby fill up my hummingbird feeder. It is supposed to get down to 45 degrees tonight and I worry that they are still in the area. He said it was empty when he filled feeder up. (that could be why they hovered by the patio doors,) I'm glad that himself is enjoying going to the day program. You can get a break and maybe do something fun for yourself or visit a friend. It is 64 degrees and the sun just came out I should go for a walk. Our electricity was off today for about 3 hrs., a tree fell over the lines and on the road. That always messes up the day because we have to haul out generator etc.
    Take care Bev.

  8. Hi Lynda: I love the little picture of the girl dancing with joy. Nice you got to do a small grocery load. Hope himself can't hear Lopez screeching away when you're out since he doesn't wear his hearing aids. Glad you got your hair done. And yes, weed whacking should be done real soon! Fall is settling in today. Much cooler. Have a good night. Brenda
