Always, always, something to be thankful for-

Good thing there is always another day-----  Guess what?--son#2, the Pilot is almost here---  drove up from Toronto early this AM----AND THERE WAS NO SNOW FALLING-----  and I suspect, he is nearly here--Am I excited or what?-----YES I AM!!!!!!-----He will be here for a few days--- so so nice! --I am as happy as a clam at high tide! (however happy that clam might be!)-

I really am thinking of all of you this morning--- -Lordy Be! I do hope that you got up on the "right side of the bed"----- (Dad's expression of course!)---  If you live in the U.S., it is your Thanksgiving weekend--- so--"---HAPPY THANKSGIVING"--I wish you happiness, Health-, and rest-----and that you enjoy  your day---

I saw this list of books ----  Have you read any of them?--I have read some--not many----I thought that I just might print the list off and try to read more of them---  thought you might enjoy reading some of them also----
I see "The Time Traveller's Wife" on there-----"The Diary of a Young Girl"--also---  some interesting choices--for sure!-I see "Withering Heights"--- I have read that and I remember  I enjoyed reading that book--

Remember, there is always, always , always, something to be thankful for!

  1. Have a wonderful, relaxing visit with your son. Such a treat for you and Himself. I had to laugh at myself and thought of you when I put my extra car key fob in my pocket to go get something out of it and
almost put those pants in the wash without cleaning the pocket. Oops. Luckily I found it first. D.

  2. Interesting mix of old classics and new ones. I have read 33 of them (I think... I hope I did not count any that I only saw the movie... I know at least one of them was a "Young Person's" version). At one point of my life I was trying to read one classic a year. I need to get back to reading!

For 2023 I set a goal to read 12 books. So far I've only finished 7. I think I may be trying to read things that just aren't holding my interest. That's the key to reading a lot... read what pleases you! But I have tackled some heavy stuff this year.

Happy visit with your son #2... I'm excited for you, looking forward to his visit! And I'll say "Happy Thanksgiving" even though I know Canada doesn't celebrate tomorrow as we do here in the US... but Thanksgiving knows no limits, in my book.

You sound so very happy that son is coming. I hope he can stay for a while. He can help "entertain" himself.
    Have a wonderful visit.

  5. Awwww, that’s wonderful that son #2 is on his way to visit! That will be wonderful.

Interesting list! Have read a lot of them. Sadly, some of the books are now being BANNED from being read in some school systems. Books like Uncle Tom’s Cabin, The Catcher in the Rye, To Kill a Mockingbird. Isn’t that ridiculous! Read all of those growing up. So dangerous, to me, when you start banning books that really are classics! And besides, you can access them on the internet anyhow. I don’t think if a kid wants to read those books they will be deterred, and I HOPE THEY AREN’T!

And absolutely love the 8 things to remember when going through tough times. THANK YOU for posting that!

I hope you have a good visit with your son

  7. It's Kathy. How nice thar son #2 is visiting. What a list of books. I have read some of them but not many. I like simple books that don't make me think much. Getting the house cleaned for our family Thanksgiving on Friday. So much to get done! Hope it's been a good day.

  8. Hi Lynda: I'm really late doing this. I bought a new wireless mose and it took me ages to get it set up. The computer kept trying to set new stuff up like google chrome to replace the google chrome I already have! Really glad the pilot made it up there. Hopefully the weather stays good enough for them to get back home in the near future. Little doggie meme is really cute. How is himself's leg and his daycare? Have to see if i can make the booklist a bit larger so I can read it better. Have a great visit with the pilot! Hugs Brenda
