You Are AWESOME!

and--I am talking to "YOU"---and--to-day, we have rain falling-- and--it is above zero--  Can you believe that?---and---I managed to get thru yesterday--and--Son#1, came and ploughed the driveway---I really was so happy!---He has a Kabuka ----I do not know how to spell that--but--it sure is a great machine!----

Yesterday, the car dealer, reprogrammed the car --then the key for the car--the one I had--plus the new key they had ordered for me-to the tune of--$ 409.00----- I guess that will be my Christmas present--AND--I WILL NEVER TRAVEL WITH 2 KEYS IN THE CAR AT ONCE_--

He told me that these key fobs have batteries in them which have to be changed, I think he said, yearly-He said they change these batteries for people, about 10 a day-----  and  the car will tell you when the key fob battery is low--but--until you get to the dealer, put the key in your cup holder and it will keep working --will get you to dealer---I did not know any of that ---

So, yesterday, for me , was WAY too busy--Hopefully to-day will be better---

The above is true  in my life  now-- --There is no-one else  to pick up the slack-- just "DO" what needs to be done-- then  get a rest in--if you can---I haven't the excuse of not being able to do something, because of my "older age"------ because, the man of the house , is even older---
and----
We are  awesome----I do know that! --just a reminder---
I best let Sadie in--Also, the nurse will be here  "Tout Suite"--as Dad used to say, to dress Himself's leg-
Before I get off of here, I saw the  below write up--thought it interesting---

Cultivate an attitude of gratitude---- Invest in yourself----Make to-day count--YOU ARE AWESOME!

  1. Glad that son #1 took car of ploughing. And glad that your key problem is fixed now. PHEW. I know . . . those key fobs are EXPENSIVE!

Hope the nurse visit goes well and things are healing for Himself.

All good advice for habits to nurture!

  3. It's Kathy trying again. Some days it works and other days it doesn't! I love the Habits - so good. And the advice about being old - the world has been able to enjoy us for all those years! And yes, sometimes we just have to DO what needs to be done! I'm glad you have a quieter day today - so do I. It's sunny enough that I think Daisy and I will be able to walk again this afternoon. Enjoy your day!

  4. Love the Yoda quote.
You sure had issues with those keys. My fob has a real key in it! you just pull it out. That could fix a battery problem. When mine needs a new battery, it tells me, "No key detected."
Maybe Sadie will have to come here tomorrow. She may be tired after 'visiting' your house. It's a 5 hour drive, too.
On that last meme of directions to live by: I am good with it all except for the 'don't waste time.' Time is never wasted...it is used. And if it is used for fun or relaxation...well, we all need that!
I am sure your son gets lots of hugs and appreciation for removing your snow. You're lucy you have him nearby and sometimes having enough time to help!
Barely below freezing here, but sunny and very little wind.
    Must get gas before the day's end. You know about keeping tanks at least half full...{{{HUGS}}}

  5. So glad today is hair day! Enjoy all of it. Funny how many of those Habit Lists are made by Men, several years ago, endlessly copied in Women’s Magazines, scolding us relentlessly……it seems to never be enough, does it??

  6. It is warmer and sunny in Ohio but we get the rain all day tomorrow. Happy your son took care of the snow for you. Gosh, your key fob could have been even more without that insurance. A terrible thing to lose. Hope you’ve had a nice day and enjoy your evening!

  7. Have been catching up on your blogs as I have been in CA to visit my youngest son's family! Now I am behind in everything! Did get the carpet shampooed yesterday and am putting up my tree today. Sure is difficult lugging it upstairs from the basement. Had to bring it up in pieces as the box is way too big and heavy for me! Had a great Thanksgiving in CA - was sunny and warm every day and I got lots of exercise because my kids walk everywhere! They are close to the main part of town and so they never drive unless necessary. My little grandson is in 3rd grade and his school is just a little over a block from their house so we all walk him to school and walk back down to get him when school is over! I love looking at all the beautiful mountains! When I got home 2 nights ago it was 23 degrees here and very cold and windy! Brrr! I left 70+ dgree weather!!! But the worse part of all is adapting to the time change as they are 2 hours behind us! I got used to their time zone and now I can't get my sleep right! So tired in the morning - even though it was 7 Am - it feels like 5 Am......On a happier note, I am glad to hear that you got your key situation all cleared up! What a hassle!

  8. Love the saying about the number of years we've been here for the world to enjoy us! Can't believe how much a new key fob costs. I've just had to get new batteries a few times and they were only about $10 or $15. Yes now you better leave one at home It's a good thing son #1 helps with the snow. Today is gorgeous here but tomorrow is supposed to rain. Have a good night. Hugs Brenda

YOU are awesome. You set the bar high for the rest of us who handle everything.
Glad key fob is done. Merry Christmas to you.
Rainy, windy raw day in St.Louis but I won't complain as we haven't had any of the white stuff. If you son can't help you with his Kabota...I do hope you can find a dependable "normal" person willing to plow for you.
Enjoy hair day. YOU are awesome!!!!!

  11. Lynda, you are awesome! Just dropping in. So grateful for your blog!
I, too, have an older-than-me spouse, and he’s having surgery Monday - but (and that’s a big BUT) I have no nursing aptitude or ability 😭
We’ll get through, one day at a time. I’ve got to juggle the day job along with all of this. ❤️ Say, you have a birthday soon, don’t you? Happy, happy! 🎂
