Well this is what happened here- I hired a snow person---a man to clear the drive of snow-- and he never showed up- never appeared last night--in our blizzard --I called and he was away , deer hunting -- Can you believe that?--I thought he might appear this morning, as there is so much snow on the drive, but---no-- he has not appeared--no phone call--nothing--SO--I DID IT MYSELF!--- and this morning, I drove over a lot of it, trying to pack it down--I was afraid to do that, but Son#2 told me to do it and it seemed to work--I got the car out to the road, which had been ploughed, so, I was able to get Himself to his Day Care---- And now I see Son#1 outside , cleaning it up with bis big tractor-- Lord love a Duck! It really has been quite a day!
I did it myself----- Holy Cow!
Now, isn't the above just so true?-- When it seems that everything is going horribly wrong, and you want to yell and scream, someone appears to help you--and--YOU GROW STRONGER ---must keep the "faith" ---
I shall see you all to-morrow--BE STRONG ---As Dad used to say-- "Chin Up"----- You've got this!
You go girl.............you always impress me with your can-doism....
ReplyDeleteHugs ...
stupid eh??--- didn't even call me--Lynda
DeleteWhat I can not understand is how crippled is that “Helper” that he can not text or phone you to say he is n
ReplyDeleteNOT coming?? What the hell? No decency at all! A coward with a gun!
Stupid guy eh?--- when someone hires yu to do a job, yu might think he would have the decency to tell me that he's not coming--Lynda
DeleteGot tickled at the problem with the snow guy being deer hunting. Don't you know, that is sacred and nothigng interferes with it??? Our schools get off the Friday of the first weekend of deer hunting as they know the attendance will be down so much - - besides the teachers want to hunt too. Different way of life in rural areas.
ReplyDeleteLaughed at the Einstein quote. I agree but at my age I've done it all by myself and am ready for someone else to step in. The problem with the kids all living so far away! One daughter due in town in a couple of weeks and she is a big help. D
Your schools close for Deer Hunting?--Amazing!--and yes, all my life I've done what needs to be done-- but there seems to be more to do now--Crazy!-Lynda
DeleteAh, love the poem. Sometimes rest is needed to fuel the recovery, the getting stronger, for the next section of the journey. Hang in there, and hugs!
ReplyDeleteIm trying to hang in-- Lordy Be Barb--Lynda
DeleteLynda, you must surely be the strongest woman I know! Hope you protect your back by not lifting heavier loads of snow, taking it slow, resting, being sure you're hydrated....and your son saved you. If that snow guy ever shows up....fire him!
ReplyDeleteDid I tell you I 'lost' the license plate tabs I bought for my car. Need to get them each year. My friend that I sometimes take on errands called the drivers' services. It's only $13 for replacement! I thought it would be over $100 again!
Sadie is doing stuff here. She will be at your house later.
Here's some funny 'old people' stuff. See which you resonate with. Never mind, I see I sent it to you on FB messenger. Don't believe you clicked and read it yet.
Sadie is done for a while. Time to curl up with my kitty for a brief snooze. {{{HUGS}}}
Snoozes Are the best!-Lynda
DeleteOh goodness! Sorry about that snow plow man. I am going through the same thing with a contractor for two months now! Horrible of people to be that way and no communication. So cold in Ohio today but just little flurries. Stay safe and warm!
ReplyDeleteOur daughter said it was windy there too--Lynda
DeleteYes, it is and makes it feel even colder.
DeleteHow disappointing that plower did not call nor show up. *SIHG** Must not want to earn money much!
ReplyDeleteGlad you were able to do some clearing and packed down the snow with your car AND son #1 cleaned it up.
Great Einstein quote! TRUTH.
Here’s to a good Monday.
Hugs

and it is still snowing--- Lynda
DeleteGosh darn you have the worst luck with snow removal guys. He could have called or sent a text. I HATE that you tackle it. At least son showed up to clear some of it.
ReplyDeleteGlad himself got out of the house a while.
Helen Steiner Rice poem is so true.
I know you CAN do everything but...that big butt....will need to make other arrangements going forward. Way too much for you to tackle regularly
Keep your chin up
Hugs
It really is WAY TOO MUCH!----so much snow--and more fell to-day--Lynda
DeleteHi Marti--I agree--so much for me to do--Lynda
ReplyDeleteHi Lynda: You have really bad luck with snowplow guys. Maybe there are some companies that would be more reliable. This is only the begining of winter and you cannot do it by yourself again. Can't believe you are already getting so much. Hate winter! At least you got himself to daycare today. This will be a problem if you can't find someone reliable for snow or if one of your sons can take him instead. Have a relaxing night. Hugs Brenda
ReplyDeleteHi Brenda--- Snow plough guys are difficult to get--good ones-- Son#1 did a great job-Lynda
DeleteIt's Kathy. I'm going to try once more with my computer because now my tablet won't submit. Good for you for getting out and making sure himself was able to go to his day care. And good for Son #1 to help finish the job. You don't give up, that's for sure. It was very very cold here but no snow - yet!
ReplyDeleteYu are on here-- What is happening that it isn't allowing you to access the blog?-- Is it something I am doing??---And yes, the driveway hot cleared thanks to Son#1--Lynda
DeleteI am so sorry this happened, makes me crazy that hunting is so sacred! You are so strong and just keep going. Loved the poem.
ReplyDeleteLynda, I am sorry for barking at you. I am in the midst of a bad breakup with my boyfriend WHO I CANNOT REASON WITH and I am going slowly insane. I just feel frustrated for you. I apologize.
ReplyDeleteMarti--- poor yu--- Yu are not barking at me---Lynda
