My washing machine has broken--- To-morrow I shall order a new one--Lordy Be-- And it stopped halfway between a load--I mean--the load was not finished--I have tried and tried to restart the thing--as the sheets in the machine are wet wet -I have them draped over a line in the furnace room-- And it is Sunday--so no stores open in our neck of the woods--
And that is why I'm later than late, posting--We have cold air outside--wet also---I was so into the broken washer, I forgot to post----I am sorry---- _I guess my mind is all on the washer---- Why does it have to go on the fritz now?---so much is happening and that just adds to it all--- Oh well---It is replaceable -----probably costly too---
So, I hope that your day is going better than mine--LOLOL--I best think of good things---that we can get a new washer---- just have to wait till to-morrow--and forget buying any new shoes etc right now---and the bed will get changed another day---- but --why did the washer have to break now eh?----Doncha jess wish that we all had a million dollars?---like that song----
Hi Lynda! So sorry about your washing machine! My husband deals in appliances. His retired military job that he loves to keep him busy. LOL He could talk to you on the phone this evening if you are interested to see if you could troubleshoot. Sunny and breezing in Ohio today. High 77 so I sat out for some Vitamin D. Hope your evening goes well. Let me know if you want help. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteCan you ask yer hubby why the washer will not spin-- You know--that last part of the cycle--where it spins the water out of the sheets--Ive tried everything--It is a top loader machine--Thank yu---- Lynda
DeleteHe said to unplug it and try to start a new cycle. Then let me know from there.
DeleteI have a top loader, and mine does that form time to time, too. Taht's what I ahve to do, unplug it, I count to 10 or so, plug it back in and run a new cycle ( do the Quick cycle and set the water level to low so it doesn;t fill up too much). It's worked so far for me. Lisa/Straitlover
DeleteHey--I must ty that--Wouldn't it be wonderful if it began to work??--Thank yu--Lynda
DeleteK--n the morning I shall try to get it going--by unplugging it and restarting itg-Oh I hope that works--Tell yer hubby thank yu-Lynda
DeleteGood luck, Lynda and let me know how it goes.
DeleteHi Lynda: Hope you can get a washer tomorrow and can have it delivered right away. What a pain - like you don't have enough to deal with already. New rains but it pours. Hope tomorrow goes better. Cheers Brenda
ReplyDeleteBrenda I just want to cry eh---but--well, you know--that won't help--- It will not do the final spin--- Grrrrrr--- I'll call as soon as I can in the morning--- Lynda
DeleteHi, it's Marti. Can you just take them to a laundromat? That is what I typically do when washer/dryer is on the fritz, or I dash next door to the neighbors. I sure do hate laundromats, I never realized how wonderful it is to have a home washer/dryer when so many do not.
ReplyDeleteI hope I can get a new machine quick--I'll know to-morrow--Lynda
DeleteLynda! I am so sorry. You know I know what it's like without a washer! Tomorrow you can get one, hopefully with free delivery. Do you know if there's any chance it could be repaired? It may be worth a try, unless it's as old as ours are.
ReplyDeleteWill you look tomorrow while Himself is at his day program? Would he be upset if you bought one without him?
So much to think about.
After a later than late night, Sadie has taken the day off. She must be resting it she's not at your house either. Or at the domicile of one of your other followers.
At least it's beautiful here. Tuesday, though, it's supposed to be own to just a few degrees above freezing again. The sun is shining, however, and that makes us feel good.
I hope it goes well for you tomorrow. And for the rest of today, too, of course.
Let us know. Could one of your sons advise you whether or not it's worth calling a repair man first? A new appliance is a big expense.
{{{HUGS}}} Love, Maggie
My son‘s washer went out Friday, repair man comes Tuesday. Not sure if the need to replace it. Bummer for you. Sorry.
ReplyDeletewhy do they break eh??--- and it doesn't seem old--Lynda
DeleteHi Lynda, are there appliance repair people in your area? Perhaps wherever you bought it has someone that can come out and diagnosis issue. I wonder if the power going out tripped a breaker or something simple. I don't think your washer is very old as I seem to remember you getting it. How about call a son and maybe they have suggestions. You can also try to Google the issue.
ReplyDeleteMy himself dropped a hearing aid battery down bathroom drain at 7am. Im debating if i need to call a plumber tomorrow. Always something. As you said..character building day.
Hot in St.Louis. High 80sF...May break a record of 92F.
Hope washer situation gets resolved quickly.
Hugs and blessings
Marge/St.Louis
Hot there??_-Hard to believe--All we have here is rain--Poor you guys losing that battery---Going to order the washer tomorrow I hope--Lynda
DeleteWe're all building character. If not yesterday, then today or tomorrow, right?
ReplyDeleteI swear over my whole adult life, appliances have always failed "at the worst possible moment!" When I just paid for the house down-payment, and three of them go at once, for example. Thank goodness, "it came to pass" and we do get past it, don't we?
You have cold air there, we had a HOT day here. I think they said the high was 87*F! That's SUMMER temps, not Spring! Does Lopez do OK with hot weather? Neither Carl nor Ember like the hot weather, and choose not to do a lot when it gets like this. Except when they are together, as they were for a while today. Off leash in my back yard... chasing each other, playing well together. I'm so relieved, since you know how you ended up with four dogs at times? I may well end up with two when the kids go out of town. So we are trying to acclimate them to each other and to sharing their toys and their humans.
Wishing you well in your washing machine hunt... last time mine quit on me I was having to haul things to a laundromat, and since you live "in the sticks" that might not be an easy thing to do for long!
Deep breath... Monday is coming!
I agree-- Why does this appliance go when I have a new water softener ready to be in stalled--Oh well--seems to happen I guess--Yes Son#3 is bringing Lola and Pips next week for a few days-- Lopez will love that--I LOVE LOVE LOVE hearing you talk about that wee Ember--Lynda
DeleteIt's Kathy. I'm sorry about your washer. Yes, I just hate when things don't work, especially when they break down in the middle of whatever you're doing. So much extra work for you! I hope you can get a new one soon! We've had a very quiet day. Went to church this morning which was nice because we missed the last couple of Sundays. It was very warm here today - felt a little like summer. And I mad Mac & Cheese from scratch! I've tried before but nothing has ever worked very well - today it did!!! I don't like cooking all that much but I want to do more foods from scratch. It's so much tastier! Have a wonderful evening!
ReplyDeleteYour Mac and cheese sounds delicious--Lynda
DeleteMurphy's Law. We have found that major appliances always break down on the weekends (water heater flooding the floor or the furnace going out on a really cold day) and medical emergencies also occur on the weekends when you can't reach your doctor and end up in the emergency room. Here's hoping you will find a washer and that it can be delivered quickly.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear your washer gave up the ghost. I wish you all the best today finding a new one. *SIGH* That was not needed. Honestly there is NEVER a good time for the washer to go on the fritz, is there.
ReplyDeleteWishing you luck w/finding a new washer and hope it’s not TOO costly. Truth is, nothing is cheap anymore, is it.
Hugs and hope today is a better day.
