One Step at a Time!

Hi y'all---I am so happy to report that I am home --AND the Dr told me that there are no changes in my eyes----the pressure is under control--and I do not have to return for a whole year--I did not get back here till almost 4pm--and all was well at home--I stopped on the way home at Son#3's house to pick up Lopez but Son#3 had brought Lopez out here.

I take it, Son#2 was happy to get rid of Lopez as Lopez just  sat inside his house, at his front door, sobbing ALL morning--  must've driven Son#3 crazy---In the picture below he does look quite sweet----but----

He can be loud and a little demanding---like now---  We have a "Water Guy" here putting a water softener in, adding it to our water system--and Lopez is barking up a storm in the sunroom--You would think someone was murdering him--- Lord love a Duck! There is a lot to be said about a Shepherd.

I did not went to go yesterday---but knew I needed an "eye check"---  The drops for the glaucoma  cause sores around my eyes---I must be allergic to the drops--  The Doctor has changed the drops twice--  This time she ordered some special cream for around my eyes--I hope it works---Our daughter suggested using vasoline around my eyes---  good idea really--

So, everyone survived yesterday----Lopez--Me---  the guy that I married--and in the end I was happy to get it all over with--We saw a deer  , on the side of the road and a Moose standing in a marsh-had lunch out, and gabbed our heads off there and back--It felt good--- I had a fantastic driver to  get me there--waited for me---and drove safely both ways--Sometimes one must just do what one knows is right, even if one would rather just stay home  where everything is safe and sound.
The whole trip did relieve a lot of the stress I live thru most days-

How is your day going?---  How is the weather in your area?--How are "YOU" to-day?---  Can you make to-day the best day ever?--Not everyone is having a good day, but "WE" could make their day better with some kind words and a smile---

There is no place like home, is there?--but---getting away from the chaos is quite nice!
Dorothy in "The Wizard  of Oz" told us that.

                                                        -always----one Step at a Time!

  1. Hi Lynda! I am so glad your eye appointment is done. I can hear little Lopez barking now like my two yorkies when we have workers here. It is awful! High 49 tomorrow here in Ohio and 79 Sunday. How crazy is that? My husband and I had food poisoning all weekend. Yes, today is a better day. Thank goodness. Hope you have a terrific Tuesday!

    4. Not sure if it was the chicken or jo jo potatoes. The oil could have been rancid. We feel better now. We just had soup for dinner.

  2. Lynda, so happy all went well for you. Eyes are important. I gotta figure if I should be wearing 'blue light' glasses for when I am on this computer. My tv brightness adjusts to the room light. Don't know about the Kindle or the cell phone.
Wee sweet Lopez is just protecting you from an invader. If the service people would let him smell them, see if he would let them do a small pet...maybe he would discover they're not dangerous and let them be.
Sounds like your day yesterday went well. Hope you had lunch in a dark place.
Weather here is nice warm now, warmer this afternoon. No rain. The breeze is finally feeling like spring.
Sadie is helping with a few chores today. And I have a bit of shopping to do.
Right now Lucky is chomping at the bit for me to play with him. I have these wands...on had a bunch of feathers (I call it his pretty bird), the other had a big bug with long legs. I flop them around, Swing them, etc. He chases them, jumps up high, so cute...and, hopefully, burns some calories.
Glad all seem fine. You mentioned all except Sushi. I have to trust that she is well, too.
Be happy, sis, Life is sometimes a challenge, but it's supposed to be fun, too. {{{HUGS}}} Love, Maggie

  3. I'm so glad you took the needed steps to take care of YOU, too. You take care of others so much. That sounds troubling about the eye drops... I do not have that kind of reaction to mine, and wonder if yours are the same or different. They even changed mine at one point during the pandemic when they had trouble getting the evening drop, and the substitute had different instructions. It may not be easy getting old-er, but we are strong, Lynda! We are survivors.

I'll bet Lopez is glad to have you back, and Himself, too, whether he's able to express it or not. But taking care of oneself and one's health is not an optional thing!

    Hugs,
    - Barb (OKM)

  4. So happy for the news you don’t have to go back for another year! That’s awesome.

And Lopez may have been unhappy, but survived, and so did son #3. That’s all good.

HOPE that the cream for your eyes stops the soreness from the gtts.

We are warm-ish but cloudy, and rain expected. Not unusual for here in the Midwest for the Spring.

Mom always said every day may not be good, but there’s good in every day. Amen!

And agree w/Barb/OKM – good that you took the steps you needed to in order to take care of YOU! YOU deserve that and after all, what would Himself do if you weren’t there for him!

    hugs

  5. Hi Lynda, so happy to hear your good eye report. YOU HAVE TO take care of YOU as there is no one to take care of Fred. I'm GLAD you enjoyed your day out...and lunch too.
Lopez survived as I knew he would. At home was a good place for him. Fred likely enjoyed being elsewhere too.
    It's raining in St.Louis. mild temps 50F.
Home from cardio class. Sadie helped me house tidy before I went to class. Getting ready to go to my volunteer job at food pantry.
Have a great day. Stay strong, sweet, kind and loving. You're the best!
    Hugs and blessings

  6. Hi Lynda: Glad your trip went good and it's done for a year. Lopez is like my dog when someone is in the house. She barks til they leave! Glad himself and Lopez both survived and that you had someone you could talk to during the trip. You needed that! Hope the cream works. Just be careful not to get in your eyes. Have a good night. Hugs Brenda

  7. Today is a good day for me! It's my birthday! I am 77 years young today! Did yoga class this morning, attended the Senior Citizens monthly luncheon where they insisted that I go first in line for the chicken dinner! And tonight my middle son has invited me to come to his house for dinner with his family! Will have most of the family here this coming Sunday to celebrate together. (Youngest son is in CA but will come in June)....so a good day even though it is raining! Happy that I got all my grass cut yesterday before the rain today! Had to laugh as I could just picture Lopez sitting at the door crying for you.....poor baby missed his momma! But he survived and I am especially glad to hear that you had a much needed day off with lunch and someone to talk with. A big plus that your eyes are good and no appointment for another year! Life is good!

  8. It's Kathy. Yes, sometimes just getting away from it all for a few hours does such good for our emotional state! I'm so glad little Lopez came home in one piece. I rarely leave Daisy for more than a few hours but a few years back we took a mini 3 day vacation with my children. My step son and his family took care of her. I guess she laid by the front door the whole time we were gone, waiting for her mama to come back! I finally got a referral to have a lumbar spine CT scan - I read about it and it doesn't sound like fun. But this pain is just not going away so I guess I need to do what I need to do! Thanks for the reminder that we're all awesome! I needed that!
