We are all works in progress...

Good morning--"Celebrate Yourself"---Are we  happy with "OURSELVES"---I believe, for the most part, we  are- because we try --- try to do what we believe is right---I think the hardest thing for me, is to NOT EAT ICE CREAM--- --to stay away from the lovely clothing store-- I do have enough clothes--all sizes, to outfit our whole town---Anyway---

This morning, Lopez and I , trotted around the yard here--in the snow--- and Lopez did do what he was supposed to do--And yes, we had snow overnight--about 4 inches of soupy wet snow--Will it ever stop snowing here---  IN APRIL?---  Last evening however, I began to do the taxes--so, hopefully  I can get them off maybe by Monday--And the snow tires must come off also- I booked that appointment for next week--" A woman's work is never done-"----- Mom always said that!

So---  How was your weekend?--Here, I was busy--mostly because of the snow--I always go to bed , with my kindle--helps me forget all the household chores--  Reading carries one away to another world----I remember my Dad always telling me, that his Mother  was an avid reader----  I wish I knew my Grandmother more-- I was too young to appreciate her-

- Do you feel that you really know your Grandchildren?----I love them to the moon and back----but--do I know their hearts desires?-no---not at all---I wonder if they are prepared for the busy adult life they will enter into?---

I must get off of here if I am going to get  the house-y stuff done--AND _-it's "Hair Day"--

To-day, I hope you can be happy---- a Strong person--- and Kind--- We  are all works in Progress--

  1. I've not even got 'round to read blogs because of ... little Ember (soon to be big Ember) and all the vigilance it takes to bring up a puppy. Gotta dash, but saying "hi" and yes, we are indeed all works in progress!

  3. Lynda, yes we are all works in progress. Through our challenges and joys we learn and grow. We can't always be strong, though we do try. Sometimes we need support, too...and help.
Washer is busy today, but that's okay. There's always some kind of chore that needs attending to.
You will have an outing you will enjoy. Maybe do some shopping, too?
You are on track with your taxes. That's good.
The grandchild I know best is my daughter's son...just 45 minutes away. It was his home I went to on Easter. So talented: plays every sport imaginable and does it well, plays bass in the orchestra and is on the honor roll.
My grandchildren (6 of them) in California are expected to get good grades in everything (their mom is 2nd generation Korean). They, too, are athletic. My 13 year old grand daughter there is an author, finishing her first novel. She is also an artist.
I do not know well the 2 boys from my oldest son and the 2 from my youngest son. They are all still in the Chicago area. I correspond at times with my daughters-in-law on FB and sometimes get photos or a card in the mail. How I wish I was closer and knew them better.
    I have 11 grand kids.
Time to pay attention to my soul mate...Lucky, then eat lunch.
When I read, it's something very interesting. I do not fall asleep.
We are a lot alike, but have our differences, too. That's what makes people interesting.
    Please, sis, enjoy your day.
Oh, the weather...just above freezing today. Partly sunny, no wet stuff coming down. Next week spring is really due to be here. {{{HUGS}}} Love, Maggie

  4. 4 in. of snow. April. Mother Nature is not being kind to you. We have had rain, rain/snow and snow here, but the snow is just sticking to the grass. But it is not necessary! Glad that Lopez is doing his thing outside. Good boy.

Glad it’s hair day for you! YOU need the break and the pampering.

Isn’t that meme so true! Perfection? Never be achieved. We are a work in progress, steady improvement, but never perfect! And that’s all right. That’s how we learn . . . we experience situations and learn.

    Hang in there!

    Hugs

  5. Marti here. My dear lady, I don't know how my weekend was, as I haven't had it yet, LOL. Tomorrow is Friday. So far, I am really enjoying my bf being here 24/7. Well, I go off to work and he goes off to work on getting the rest of the stuff out of the condo back in Columbus. Don't know when that will be, but as long as he's here I'm in no hurry, though he will need to get a job soon(ish). ;)

  6. It's Kathy. For sure we are all works in progress. I had a nice talk with my wellness coach - it's something that comes with my insurance. I get 30 minutes with her every 2-3 weeks. It was nice to have someone ask "you're doing so much for everyone else, what are you doing for yourself?" I do read - a lot! Yes, it also takes me away from here and into a place that seems so much nicer than here! No, I don't really know my grandchildren very well. Most of them are too far away. We want to go see the 3 in Roanoke, VA - it's a 22 hour drive there and my husband doesn't fly. But we haven't gone now in almost 5 years. Sorry about the snow. They are predicting rain for us sometime over the weekend. Daisy and I finally got a short walk in, that sure made Daisy happy. I hope you enjoy the rest of your day!

  7. Hi Lynda: You got more snow! We just got lots of rain and wind. Made it still cold but don't want any snow. Enough is enough. May you get your taxes done and to the accountant. I don't have any kids or grandkids to know things about! Have a good visit at your hairdresser today. Hugs Brenda

  8. Hi Lynda
Yes, we are all a work in progress. That's a good thing as we never stop learning and improving.
No more snow allowed up there. Enough is enough.
    Enjoy hair day.
    Quite chilly here and windy.

  9. I think I know my grandchildren pretty well - as I get to see them pretty often...even the youngest in CA calls me on my Echo Show so we video chat and I fly out to see him at least twice a year and they come here at least once a year! Weather here is awful for April - only good thing about the cold temps is that I don't have to work outside on the grass and weed trimming!
I love reading! Used to sneak a book to bed with me when I was a child and tried reading with a flashlight! hahaha! Got caught often! Once I became a teacher and then administrator and had 4 kids, there was no time for reading anythng except Educational Journals and Administrative Leadership books! So I am so happy to get to read for enjoyment! I am in 3 different book clubs! Love reading but it causes me to ignore chores sometimes! Reading your Kindle at bedtime sounds like a great thing to me!
