  1. Yep, licking our wounds and doing our weeping behind closed doors... but it's hard not to read our faces, isn't it? Hope today is a happy one for you!

  2. But you just had a birthday, so you were born in Dec 1942, correct? If that's correct, then that means you are 82. You won't be 83 until Dec 2025. :) Happy New Year! Lisa/Straitlover

  3. Hi Lynda - trying to catch up on reading all your blogs....as I have had a bit of bad luck and not able to read/respond to your daily blogs. On December 16th after coming home from my yoga class and a trip to Sam's to finish up Christmas shopping, I came home my house filled with black smoke and every alarm in the house screaming. I immediately called 911. Long story short, the dehumifier in the basement malfunctioned and melted it! No fire, just smoke and black soot now cover all 3 floors of my house....insurance company will start "packing out" my house as they will remove everything...refrigerator, dishes, washer, dryer, treadmill, clothes, all furniture, etc. Then tear out the carpets and after the house is gutted, they will wash walls, paint, install new carpet. Then bring back what they were able to clean and save....which will take 6 to 9 months. I am living in my middle son's basement with my two cats....so grateful that they made it out alive. They were terrified! Firemen couldn't find them...so they let me go in and I found one under my bed on the main floor and the other under a bed on the second floor. Living with son is not ideal, but better than being homeless hahaha! Insurance company has found me a house to rent and are even paying to have it furnished. So thankful that I have good insurance coverage! And yes, I have cried a lot. Basically, I have lost almost everything - but there is nothing I can do about it. What I do know is that things or "possessions" are not important....it's people and pets that are! Gotta stay strong and keep believing that I can face and overcome this challenge because I have faith that God is with me.

  4. It's Kathy again. Sometimes I get so tired of being strong! But you're right - we are the ones who keep things going. Enjoy your day!

  5. Sometimes it really IS hard to keep it all together and do our crying in private. But it IS important to release those tears. Being a caregiver and having so much on your plate gets to ANYONE. Then throw in the move. Take some time for your emotions!

Hugs and blessings and sure hope that 2025 is full of good things.

    HUGS and blessings

  6. Happy new year Lynda. I’m glad everything is working out with the bank. The closets look great.

  7. Crying is one way to release negative emotion. Sometimes you gotta do it. I agree with Barb.
Your closets, boxes, banks and bill payments are all coming along.
Soon the picture you want up will all be up, and...your darling daughter will be on her way back to visit you again. Soon you will answer your phone and one of your Elliot Lake sons will be on the other end saying he misses you. Believe. Trust.
It's very cold here, too. No snow predicted, though.
Know we love you, dear, and will support you through it all. {{{HUGS}}} Love, your sis, Maggie
