We all need less stuff!

Good freezing cold morning-- cold!!!!!----  Lopez and I are up----  facing the elements here--Sunday I hear will be VERY cold!!  To-day we are like, minus 3C --not bad--

How do you feel to-day??    YOU ARE up--awake--so, must be doing a great job! --

I must tell you that yesterday I went out to shovel around the vehicle--was doing the neighbour's vehicle also and a woman who lives behind us--- SHE came over to the fence and asked why I was shovelling--then asked what we pay for rent-(think she was just a tad" nosey"---)-but--I didn't mind----said she should sell her home and do what we did--- LOL--Everyone says that , but, it takes  huge  "guts" to really do it---  BUT--It was nice to get to know her a bit--Her name was "Anne"----  SO--I finally met a real person who lives here in Lakefield----

I am searching for a new Hair Dresser-- I am not fussy----  but going to my Daughter in law's hair place is not working out--I just need someone who is used to blow drying "older hair"-- I'll take a walk   along the main street and check out a few salons ----

Yes, yesterday was a good day--Don't you find that most days are good--but--there are real "downer' days--days that you just feel like giving up---I do hate those days--and it is good that you do snap out of those deep  thoughts--like, "WHY ME" days------ Oh----  One more thought--  Yesterday I did order ready made meals--which will begin Monday--just for supper--I thought that might help  to have one meal all ready--  IN THE FREEZER---  and it will begin Monday-- "Heart to Home" meals--"  We can try them for one week--Have any of you tried those?-

I must look for Sushi here--AND --feed Lopez and get him out-----  AND--Yes , Sushi does speak to me--  I am the only one who understands her--She is a good little girl-- likes living here as she sleeps with us , at night--on the bed--also, wanders all over the apartment at night , when Lopez is in his crate--I do believe that she is happier here--Sushi and I speak the same language ---
I hope that your day goes well--Enjoy  being a tad weird--different---All the best people-are!-We know that!-Remember that you ARE special---Stronger than you realize--- and you know that you are kind--Get rid of stuff you don't use---now-----not later!

  1. Giving up the things that we "had" to do like the shoveling and making big changes to our life style is tough. Those ready made meals sound like a good choice. I hope they are a success for you. Is it possible to ask one of your neighbors about hairdressers? Maybe the "nosy" one. Maybe during your walk a salon will call out to you, "Try me!" Good luck.

Being "homesick" for what used to be is normal. Hang in there. Soon new routines and new places will become the norm. As the weather warms, more people will be out and about, giving you the chance to make new acquaintances. ☺️🙏🏼

  2. I'm weird and that's fine as I don't want to be like others as I'm ME.
    Hope the meals are good.
Once Fred is in a day program you'll have time to find a senior aquatics class or a yoga/dance class or a book club and find buddies. Need to fine a new routine for Fred. There's also church.
Ideal hairdresser is someone older. Go on line and read reviews. Try several. Might find someone with a shop in their home.
    Sushi sounds very happy there.
Anne sounds a bit bold asking rent amount but if you didn't mind it's all OK. If you can find others to talk to they may know a beautician who is more suited to what your wanting and hopefully less expensive.
    Stay strong, positive and grateful.
Stuff is just that...stuff. easy to let go of.
Hugs, blessings and love coming your way.

  3. Good morning, Lynda. Yes, most of us need less stuff. So why do we keep buying more? Hmm...cuz at the time we want it, I guess. I read something once that says for everything you buy, get rid of one thing.
You will find the perfect hairdresser. It just might take a bit of time.
Sushi probably found a new hiding place.
It's not bad today...the temp. BUT for the next several days (starting tonight) it will be extremely cold...below 0F and very windy. Better get my garbage and recyclables out today. Still waiting for an empty laundry room, too.
Karaoke is tomorrow, but we may not go...due to the cold. Plus, JoAnne and Donna were both in the ER last night. Jo was having dizzy spells and very high BP. With Donna, it's her leg...no relief for the pain. It's still undiagnosed, I believe.
Just doing my nails now. Gotta be careful as I type.
You and Lopez stay warm outside. Almost impossible, I know. It feels good to get back in the warmth inside, though.
All for now, sis. Of course, I'll be back later. {{{HUGS}}} Love, Maggie

  4. Hi Lynda! It is sunny in Ohio so all is well! Hope you love those meals! It would help so much to have that convenience. Yes, our animals do speak to us. Sushi and Lopez are fitting right in there. Himself, too. That is a good sign. Maybe your heart can follow seeing them happy and help confirm your decision. It will feel more like home as you meet more people and comfortable with a hairdresser. Have a fabulous Friday! Hugs!

  7. It's Kathy. We are having a very nice day here, but the temps are going to drop starting tomorrow. Sunday and Monday is best to just stay in the house. It's only mid-January and I am already tired of winter! Daisy and I went down to the mail box this morning. She talks to me, often with just her look! I always know what it is that she wants, and she likes to comfort me when I'm sad. So I'm looking forward to having a good day, taking care of a lot of the little things that need to be done. And maybe on Sunday I'll bake cookies - get the house warmed up a bit! Have a good day!!

  8. Hi Lynda, I hope the food service works out for you. Breakfast and lunch are easy, it's dinner that takes some doing. Why on earth would Anne ask you how much your rent was. Did she think you were shoveling snow for reduced rent? It was your kind heart and thoughtfulness. If she gets to know you, she'll discover the kind of person you are. Do they have a Senior Center there? I don't mean the type for Fred, but more the type for Seniors that remain active. Here in California they have them and Seniors can go for lunch for a very reduced rate. I'm a Senior, but I don't go. I was thinking if you met some Senior age women, you could inquire about their hairdresser. It's true that younger beauticians, "Stylists" as they like to be called, are much more for the younger set. I hope that you and Fred, Sushi and Lopez have an enjoyable weekend.
