STOP thinking so much---

I am late blogging---sorta due to the cold weather--Poor wee Lopez just got out to do his business--It was about minus 20 Celsius  this am--so we waited till the thermometer rose a bit--It is still quite cold though--
We have sun--but--extremely cold temperatures-- colder, I see in Elliot Lake--

I am going to get my hair done this afternoon--- Hopefully I can park around there--It is just too cold to walk   -----

The above picture is of my friend Dorothy, and myself-- We were dressed up as cowgirls--  We worked  Friday afternoons in the Tuck shop at our local hospital , and used to enjoy dressing up as  a rabbit, or a pregnant Lady---or a Cowgirl-----It gave people coming to the Tuck Shop a wee smile and made a kinda boring job, a lot of fun!-

And--This was son#2's breakfast, in India--
The blue dot is where Son #2 the Pilot is, in India--

We do have a sunny day here--- but---it is extremely cold---probably colder in Elliot Lake---

January is always our coldest month-----At least it is not snowing--AND--  AT LEAST I AM NOT BLOWING SNOW----- which I probably would've been doing if we had not moved---How on earth did I ever do that for the past 3 years?-----It wasn't the snow blowing  that was hard--(It was a cold job tho!)--but it was the sidewalks that needed shovelling , also--)---I suppose we should've moved  a lot sooner, in our lives---hard tho, to leave a "family Home", full of memories---

So, How are you all doing to-day?----  Are you feeling strong?-----Are you happy?---Lord love a Duck!----                         Courage  is going on when you don't have the strength----
------------some days are tougher than others--

  1. It's Kathy. Love the photo of you and your friend! It's cold here too. Daisy has such a very thick fur coat that she doesn't feel it, but I sure do. Feeling a little bit better each day. Having lots of weird dreams overnight - not usual for me. I think I'll go back into my own bed tonight - sleeping on the futon is wearing on me. One day at a time. They tell us we're getting snow this weekend. Lots of people are happy about that but not me! Enjoy getting your hair done!

  2. Hi there - I think most of us are having bad weather (ice for us) but it is nothing compared to the fires in California. Our ice and a little snow will soon be gone, hopefully.

Don't beat yourself up by all you have to do. Remember, it has just been about a month since you moved and so much has happened. You are about done with the major decisions and are ready for real living and enjoying things. Take a day to relax and do something for fun - even baking some cookies or reading a book. Dot

  3. Oh Lynda, I hope no one is treating you like S _ I T! Glad you're going to get your hair done as it always seems to lift your spirits. So many fires raging here in So. California. Not near me, but the winds are blowing ash here. Many homes have been lost and I just heard 2 people have died.
    Play your patio today.

  4. Hi, sis. It's quite cold and sunny here, too. Celcius it's 12.778.
I just got my hair cut today. Great minds think alike. I was told my shampoo didn't have enough conditioner (even though it says it does), so I purchased their leave in conditioner. That may help get rid of my dry scalp flakes and static.
Your son's breakfast looks good. Eggs are great.
I am glad neither you nor I are shoveling! Sure, it's great exercise, but there are other ways to get that.
Have you heard from any of your Elliot Lake sons yet?
It's lunch time here. I'm eating a tuna salad sandwich. I've fed Lucky. Soon he will want me to join him in a nap. Lopez could probably use a cuddle, too, to help warm him up.
Our maintenance man came to my apartment around 8:30 this morning to install some gadget that the inspection people said I needed. I forget its name. It has to be where electricity is near water so if there's a leak, everything electric shuts off. He didn't have the right screw driver so I had to lend one to him!
All for now, dear. Will check back as always. Let's all have a great day!
I saved that last meme. {{{HUGS}}} Love, Maggie

    3. Who is Erin? Upstairs neighbor? Is it a new vacuum?
You will hear from your boys sooner or later.
My guy had the right tools. He just didn't bring them up from his shop. Rather than have him go back downstairs for them, I leant him one.

  5. Hi Lynda, I’m glad you got your hair done which brings some normalcy back into your life. While it is hard to leave a family home, remember you don’t leave the memories. The memories always come with you and they don’t take up any real estate!! Happy new year!

  6. Hi Lynda! I hope you enjoy your hair appointment. It has snowed off and on in Ohio today. I know the sidewalks always kept you busy. You have less to do now. How nice! You don’t even have to stay there forever if you want a bit bigger place or little house. Hard part over. Yay! I am waiting on my indian food from Matt. LOL Stay warm and have a great day! Hugs!

  7. Glad #2 is safe on the ground somewhere in India having good meals, and YOU go girl...you got all your trash in the right places, and top it all off got your hair done. I'm behind, we lost power for awhile, had lots of ice all over everything, took me over 3 hours to get my truck thawed out enough to drive, went to town and filled up with gas so will be ready for the next go-round coming in Friday. I go get my hair done, then hope it holds off til I run over to sons and leave him some cash til he gets paid to get gas for his vehicle...I also want to go to the store for a small container, a ?? pint?? of milk and some canned soups...for down here in my little corner of this big ole house.
Blessings, hope y'all get the drs. squared away.

  8. Oh my . . . cold, cold, cold! But doesn’t it feel nice to know at least you’re a little warmer than Elliot Lake. And you’re not doing snow blowing. Hurray for that.

Hope your hair appointment went well.

    Your son’s breakfast looks interesting!

LOVE your last meme. For sure, no one is in charge of our happiness but ourselves.

And love the photo of you and your friend dressing up to make others smile.

  9. Hi Lynda, sure hoping noone is treating you like crap.
    Sons food looks great.
Nice that you got hair done. There may be someone in this town that does hair in their home like your previous hairdresser.
I'm so glad you're not dealing with the horrendous snows of the past at the old house. I don't know how you kept up with the huge house plus all the outside work. Your amazing.
When #2 gets his new house done you may want to move to one of the little villa houses with a garage. The hard part is over....the downsizing and the long move.
I got OUT today. Some time after 10pm last night they finally showed up and cleaned our driveways. Trapped in here for 3 days was enough. It's sunny today but single digit temps. This foot of snow wont be melting for a while. More snow predicted Friday.
Stay warm. Relax, read a box. Play your piano.
Great inserts. Thanks for sharing. You are THE BEST.
    Love, hugs and blessings

  10. Marti here. Today, I'm cranky. I could hardly stay awake at work, didn't feel like going to the free exercise center I go to for an hour on Mondays and Wednesdays, went to the drugstore and the car line up was a zoo, had to park my car sideways so that others could get out, went inside and stood for another half an hour, only to find that my normally free meds were like $80. Get home, walk the dog in my ice cleats, but he wouldn't even do his business. And now I have to do the laundry. Overall, NOT a good day. Also, bleak and cold. I HATE January! Grrrrr.

  12. Yay to getting your hair done!! Boo to Fred being a cranky-pants when you got home. (He might have been a little weirded out being in the newish place alone? Hard to always know what causes the upset; but it's awful to deal with.) Yay for Erin the vacuum-slayer!

I like the picture of you and your friend dressed up for fun and to cheer others up.

Your first meme was my favorite ... I copied it. (No one is currently treating me badly, but my siblings were pretty amazingly horrible several years ago when I administered the trust for my parents.)

    Happy January!
