GOOD MORNING---- and- look at yerself---YOU ARE ALIVE!----- YESTERDAY IS GONE---TO-DAY IS A new DAY------------life is too short to wake up with regrets-----
I could NOT sleep last night---Did I do the right thing--moving?--- Well, we are alive ---- so, I guess I did!--There is nothing written in a book to tell us what is right ---and what could be a wrong move---Life is a "trial run" I guess--Nothing really is "wrong"--- So-- WE are happy here-- I choose to shovel around our car--maybe the neighbours CAR also--It's up to me to meet new people --new friends--help Himself do the same--
The money situation is not a problem--selling a house solves that--- The meal situation is going to be OK--You know, I find cooking dinner--awful--- I am tired-- don't want to head out in the car to pick up a meal--so, I am going to try "Heart to Home" meals for a change , at dinner time--the "hearty versions"-----I will let you all know if they are really as good as they are "cracked up to be"--(as Dad used to say)-
We have Himself's "inability to hear" almost solved--He goes back in a week to see if the wax is removed from the one ear--They are quite a bit cheaper in this area-- There is a $1000- rebate here on the item-
I have trouble doing my own head of hair-- think I just might have to shop around for a hair dresser who is used to "over 80" heads of hair--
So, moving is NOT FUN--- but---- with a few changes, it seems to work--Himself has improved a lot, thanks to son#2 and wife--plus a smaller home--on one level--Lopez is loving this place--has made friends--doggie friends--The apartment is not large but suitable for us----Maybe eventually we just might have one more move-- together--to another apartment--with programs suitable for seniors--One day we might not have a vehicle so living there might help pass the time--just have to wait and see--
`If I had it do over again--my life I mean---would I have sold the house?--- Yes--only sooner----perhaps in my 60's or 70's ----Life passes so quickly---I must remember to bring "JOY" to others---WE CAN!

ReplyDeleteYES, you made the right decision and you've only been in your new place about 6 weeks and have gotten so much accomplished. Good memories of your former home are in your heart and mind and pictures to be called up when needed (hopefully without depressing you at the same time). HUGS!
Susan, Central Texas
Susan--I meant a new Lady this afternoon--She lives behind us ion a large home-- Her name is Anne--very nice-- so I feel better--LOL--Lynda
DeleteIt's Kathy. I believe you made the right decision. Owning a big home is so much responsibility! I'm not quite ready to give up my yard - hoping that I am healed enough by Spring that I can get my garden plot ready and plant. Next week I'm going to look at what I have and think about what I need to buy. Today we have a plumber coming - finally - to fix the bathtub and shower. The darn thing doesn't drain worth a darn and as many times as my husband tries to fix it, he can't. And today the shower knob broke! Too many things to take care of in a large home! You made the right decision for you and himself!
ReplyDeleteI know-- a house is a lot of work--plus $$ to keep it up-and yu must keep it up so yu can sell it one day---- Yu will do it Kathy--- I have faith in yu-Lynda
DeleteYou made the right decision, you know you did... it won't always be easy... change is hard.. BUT it's the right thing. Forward is the only gear we have!
ReplyDeleteYu are right--I do know that--AND--I meant the Lady in the house behind here this afternoon-- She wanted to know the rent we pay- here-- so--I guess it takes time-- Good to her from yu Barb-Lynda

ReplyDeleteGreat blog, sis.
You are right. My (and your) Law of Attraction says that there is nothing wrong and we should never have regrets. There is good and bad in everything. Focus on the good like you are doing with your new, smaller, loved by pets and Himself apartment. The memories of Elliot Lake are still with you.
I've been our already taking 'Becca shopping and doing some myself. I have some kitchen clean-up to do, but that will wait. Lucky is waiting for his snooze with mama. I'm willing to interact with him anytime! The sweetest, softest thing in my life. He is who I think about when I feel a thought that doesn't feel good. the Law teaches that's the time to 'pivot' and think of something we love.
Enjoy interacting with you anytime, too. Be happy, Lynda...find things to appreciate. Have a marvelous day. Even the hairdresser will be fixed...like magic. {{{HUGS}}} Love, Maggie
Maggie--YU are so right-- "find things to appreciate--LOL-- Love that-- Hugs ,my friend-Lynda
DeleteLynda, you absolutely made the right decision. Having Matt and your daughter-in-law living there and helping so much. Himself seems better for the most part. Sushi and Lopez are happy. I think you are missing your routines that you established after living in your large home for 50 years. You just need to establish new routines and I think you'll be happier. When are you going to get Fred enrolled in the Senior Center?
ReplyDeleteYou still have not mentioned playing your piano. You've not mentioned any reading that you've been doing. Make some applesauce again only a smaller batch. Maybe you can look on-line to find a hairdresser in your area. I hope your day goes well and maybe take a nap.
Maureen from California
Oh Maureen--I know--so much to do eh??--I haven't been playing the piano--I must get back at that----- I did meet the Lady behind here--Lynda
DeleteOccasional nights of not sleeping well are annoying as heck; they are a new phenomenon for me the last couple of years. Thank goodness we're retired, so can take a little nap or reset the alarm (as long as the dogs don't need to go out right away.)
ReplyDeleteI hope you'll find the hairdresser that's 'just right' soon. I don't color my hair, but wear it fairly short and layered so need regular trims for it to fall correctly. Finding the hairdresser with the right skills and personality is kind of a big deal. I don't have my nails done, but I totally get it about wanting a good fit for the hairdresser.
I'm fortunate, as I only cook for myself, so have only me to please. So when I make a recipe or cook protein, I cook the regular 'family size' and have leftovers and freeze some so I'm not cooking three times a day every day. I hope the meal delivery system works out well for you; if not, hopefully you can experiment around and find one that's a good fit. I totally understand not wanting to do the cooking and cleaning up at the end of the day when tired. So much nicer to relax with a good book or something.
Happy Thursday!!!
I am reading about "Women Homesteaders:"---Yes I do enjoy reading-- The Lady behind our building here asked why I was shovelling--came up and began talking about maybe she might want to move in here-- told me her name is "Anne"-- kinda nice to meet someone--Lynda
DeleteHi Lynda! Ahh! Sending you back a gigantic, caring hug! Thank you! I needed that today. Two years since we lost our first yorkie. Kloi turned 9 this week and Tommy will be 2 in May so we will be fine. I done good all morning until I was drying my hair near a yorkie print signed to him by the artist. So hard, as you know. I do believe you done the right thing to sell because it was too much on you. Tell yourself that! Then, tell yourself you are not tied to anything right now. Feel free. You can move elsewhere, if you decide later. Hope you find comfort soon. And, you can come to Medina and have ice cream with me sometime and bring Lopez to play with Tommy! LOL Hugs!
ReplyDeleteAre you in Medina??--Yes, funny--I realized that today--Yes I could move one more time if necessary--think it might be if anything happened to Fred--Yu never know until it happens--And yes-WE could et ice crem together-- chocolate--LOL--= Hugs--- Lynda
DeleteI am 40 minutes from Medina right by some yummy chocolate ice cream. LOL Happy you met a nice lady today.

ReplyDeleteAwwwww, hugs coming you’re way too, my dear!
Good for you taking a help with evening meal preparation. That is the one I am most tired of making, too. Hope it works for you.
Nope, no matter the age, moving is NOT fun, but . . . sounds like you and Himself are getting in a groove there. It takes time. Don’t give up! Well, I know you won’t, but just saying.
You absolutely made the right choice. You are where you were meant to be, IMHO. Himself is doing better. You have DS #2 and DIL to help you. You don’t have to shovel all that property! You won’t have to cut the grass. You’ll settle in.
HUGS and blessings

Yes I suppose I will-- settle i--just hope so soon--At least a Lady from behind here asked why I was shovelling--told her I was addicted to shovelling-- LOL--We both had a good laugh-then she asked me what we pay in rent--because she wants to get rid of her house-- LOLOL---said it is too big for her-- We women I guess must stick together--LOL-- Lynda
DeleteSounds like the move has increased happiness for everyone but you.
ReplyDeleteHow sad for you. The move seems to have made life easier for so many things.
Hard for a woman to change her place of living-- not hard for men--I guess! ---- but--I believe it will come--takes time to be the right fit I guess--Women are sentimntal creatures-- Lynda
DeleteHi Lynda, great inserts and I'm sending you a gigantic hug.
ReplyDeleteHaving gone through the move thing...I understand. It takes time to get a new routine. Perhaps you'd be interested in going back to the church you attended with DIL. For me. It's exercise class and yes.l, they have yoga and dance classes geared to seniors. I attend 4 x a week. I have buddies! The other thing i do is volunteer at a food pantry 2 x a week. Very nice people and just like the gym. I have buddies. Perhaps if you get Fred to a senior program you'd have time to find something you enjoy...maybe swimming. Senior aqua aerobics, maybe a book club? Yes, you made the right decision. I'm happy that Fred is happier. It will take time but you'll find activities you enjoy and make new buddies.
I hope the meals are to your liking. Good to give it a try.
Hang in, find your gratitude today and dance around the house...sing too.
Sending love and big hugs
