You're Awesome!

WE CAN change the world---- and  in the process,  we raise  wonderful people-- Our Children!  Sometimes  we forget  though that  we  are supposed to have "the children"  ----  Lord love a Duck!  The picture below is probably me, holding Lopez  , just realizing Lopez  has taken priority over the children--

Well, I figured you all must need a smile on this very cold Sunday----

Son #2 has returned home--I have the washing in---have taken Lopez for a walk , and he DID NOT DO HIS BUSINESS--which means he has to go out AGAIN___ You know, last evening , Lopez got off his leash--and ran way ahead of me-- and all I could think of was, "HE IS GOING TO RUN ON THE HIGHWAY  AND THAT WILL BE THE END OF LOPEZ"---  I called him very loudly--and he stopped and ran back to me--Whew-----Scared me!!!  Maybe I need a new leash with a better clip on it--

Our children never run away----well, maybe sometimes----

So the Pilot has returned  home-- He was missed --a lot!

A question here---  Did you make a New Year Resolution?---- No, I haven't----  Maybe --jut maybe--not to eat ice cream--- I hear that the trans fats in the ice cream affect our memory--and I believe that!  Sometimes I'm saying something important to someone, and the last word of my sentence --is gone--right out of my head---  I feel like an idiot when that happens??--(Maybe its because I have a lot of kids  tho??---)

                                                            Crazy ideas this morning--

Anyway, it is Sunday---  a good day to think about a good New Years Resolution------" BE STONG " is a good one---Have the best Day ever! --  Remember how special you are!

  2. Hi Lynda, Happy Sunday. Glad pilot home. He was missed. He'll likely have an around town adventure for you and Fred. Maybe a Costco trip as Fred really liked that. It's so comforting to have him upstairs...especially while you settle in.
Very cold and cloudy in St.Louis. Arctic temps and windchills coming. Oh goody...NOT
YOU are the awesome one...don't forget that.
Thanks for the giggles. You always have great inserts. I so appreciate receiving your daily musings. You're THE BEST.
I don't make resolutions as I'm unlikely to keep them. I just do one day at a time. Since SparkPeople days, I haven't eaten ice cream and I really TRY to avoid sweets and processed foods.
Glad Lopez came back to you...yikes. that was frightening.
Enjoy your day. Are you playing your piano? I haven't heard you mention playing.
A wild thought, don't know if it's even a possibility. Here goes. Could pilot build a walk out apartment in basement of new house for you two? Since MIL has above garage space, perhaps it's a possibility?
I did see some darling cottage houses there with garages. Perhaps you'd enjoy that when lease is up and PIlot moves to new house.
Stay strong and positive. Keep your spunk.
    Love. Big hugs and blessings

  3. Great day to get things done, Lynda...unless you're a wee chihuahua!
Lopez will let you know when his body is ready to let loose.
Your son is home! That's great news.
It's cold here, too, but tomorrow will be worse. Weatherman says, "Minnesota will be in a deep freeze again." I'm not looking forward to it.
Joanne did not go to karaoke last night, but I did. Jo got a call from her niece that her (Jo's) sister had passed on. She didn't feel up to a karaoke party. I
I had a great time, though, and got home just before midnight. I am glad I went.
Today is just Bingo in our Community Room. I haven't been for 2 or 3 weeks. That means no nap with Lucky. He is sleeping already.
Won't we be glad when spring comes? But we do have that to look forward to...that helps.
Thank you for saying we're awesome. Of course we are...just handling our lives...cleaning, shopping, dealing with the weather, helping our friends, loving our family and pets...just doing our daily "stuff."
Need to get my stuff together for Bingo. I bring a drink, mints, sometimes a treat to share. Today I am bringing a package of two Reese's Peanut Butter Cups that are 1/2 pound each! And a knife to cut them. I have never seen any that big. They were a Christmas gift from my daughter.
I'll check back later, sis. Stay warm and happy! {{{HUGS}}} Love, Maggie

  4. Happy Sunday, Lynda! You must be washing the bed. Nice calm day in Ohio. Yes, I have been staying away from ice cream, too. We have the best homemade custard shops around but I ignore it. LOL No resolutions but being mindful to be healthy and kind. So glad Matt is home. I know it helps having him around. If my dogs get out, cheese is the word. Maybe you can carry treats. I use retractable leashes. I doubt that would work since you leave it on Lopez. So scary when they get loose. Rarely, but it can happen. Hope you are enjoying your day. Hugs!

  5. It's Kathy. Back in the days that I was able to walk Daisy I always took her off leash! She makes sure she always knows where her mommy is! I'm glad Lopez listened and came right back to you. He's such a little guy! I have 5 human children, but I always say little Daisy is the best child of all! She sits by my side, listens to me when I'm sad and plays with me when I need to play! I hope you have a good rest of your day. I haven't been feeling very well today so I'm just hanging out! Tom will make some dinner for us - I'm thankful for that!

  6. Of course Mr. Lopez has taken over a chunk of your heart!! I often think that while I love my child and would choose her first, dogs are better in some ways. They love us unconditionally, don't talk back, want to spend time with us, don't give us a hard time or boss us around or roll their eyes at us. :D An accident here and there, yep.

I haven't made yearly resolutions for a long time ... they always seem to be things to improve, and when we don't 'achieve' it we feel disappointment and maybe scold ourselves. Life's too short for that nonsense. I just remind myself to keep on loving God and the rest will follow.

    Happy Sunday!

  7. OH NO! Lopez . . . don’t run like that! Yes, sounds like a new leash is in order. Glad he came to you when you called!

  8. Hi Lynda: Yes, I think Lopez needs a new leash. If we went too far, he may forget where home is after just moving and go on roads that might be dangerous. Glad the pilot has returned. Maybe he can take you and Fred somewhere. I think we all forget a word here and there, so I wouldn't worry. Have a good night. Hugs Brenda
