A lot of good news--and some weird news!

The above always makes me laugh--Anyway--We had minus 17C last night-- It was EXTREMELY cold this morning, outside with the wee Chihuahua-----I woke up to the news of  the "Covid"  worry--another variant! Himself and I have had 3 shots-- and maybe we might have to have more. Lord love a Duck!

Yesterday I got the results of my blood test and all is Normal, even the Thyroid-- so that made me happy!--I felt like it might be a bit high, but, NO, it was right on normal! ---If anything  in that blood test ,shows concern,  my sugar is in the normal range, but on the high side. Why am I not surprised?

And we went to plug in our car  block heater last night, and low and behold, there is no block heater---  Son #3 and son#4 were telling us, that the new cars now, do not require a block heater---  I must call the dealership on Monday--

And another bit of good news, is--Son#1 bought a home just down the road from us! I am so happy for them--and for us. It will be so nice to have "family" close by.

It's the weekend------so nice! I even had time to get on the Dreadmill!
To-morrow I shall venture out for supplies-- ---I really hope that  this day will be a great day--maybe the best day ever!

  1. Lynda, I think your greatest news is son #1 has bought a house right down the road from you. So nice & close, you'll see them often.

That's also great about your tests all coming back normal. Give a sigh of relief then as Prince Philip would say "Carry On!" :)

Hugs coming to you, Fred and your pets.

  2. I suspect that the Covid shots will turn into a yearly thing like the flu ones.I'll do what we need to in order to be safe.

I wish we would get any kind of weather in Colorado. No snow for over 200 days and we desperately need some moisture here. The mountains have snow but not down in the city. Stay warm there.

  4. Happy to hear that your tests were normal, that is always a weight off your shoulders. I still have a few more weeks before I can get my booster and I will feel better when I have had it. Have a great day!

  5. Glad your tests are normal, very thankful. Grocery shopping on a Sunday, with new sick ones hanging around, oh no! Good Grief. Yes, winter is shoving its way in. Our world was not designed very well at all.

  6. Brrrr! Yes, for sure cold here, too.

**SIGH** I know. I was disappointed in the news of the Omicom variant. Not needed. Glad you and DH are boosted.

Glad the blood work was normal! Hurray!

OH goodness! That will be wonderful having son #1 living just down the road from you! Hallelujah moment! Celebrate good times!

  7. Wow that is cold. Glad the bloodwork was good news and that #1 is just down the road. So far the new variant is just in So. Africa...hope it does not get to this continent.
    So tired of this.

  8. Your graphics are marvelous!

It's cold here, too, but not much under freezing. This year I got long underwear!

Nothing about Lopez today, so I assume he didn't have a mistake. (but you know about assuming. Ask me if you don't!

Lucky you to have a son and his family just down the street! My daughter is 40 minutes away, 2 sons still in the Chicago area and 1 in California!

    I love the weekends too, but not as much as when I was still working full time. ;-) {{{HUGS}}}

  10. I have many fond memories of living near a set of grandparents who had 6 sons. We lived on 15 acres with my uncle, Son #1 owning 2 acres and my father, Son #2 owning 5 acres and my grandparents owning 8 acres. Our houses were within shouting distance to one another. This grandfather, Fred, was 70 when I was born and grandma, Vinetta, was 57. The other grandparents were 3 miles down the road on their 50-acre farm and we saw them at least 3 times a week, including Sunday lunch followed by visiting their extended families on Sunday afternoons. I'm grateful that our family bonds were so close back in the day.

  11. Glad your blood work turned out good. We've had a couple of cold mornings but now it's warming up again for this coming week. I'm very glad. Daisy loves her walks and I am not crazy about walking in the cold!

  14. Another variant. Will it ever end! We get our 3rd shot on Tuesday. Very cold but just a skiff of snow so my DD and I went Christmas shopping today and I finished my list. Good to have it done for another year. Good to hear your tests were all normal.

  15. Great that son #1 is moving down the road. That'll be more help close by.
Glad you got your booster. I hope to get mine later this week. Seems like Covid will never go away. We're supposed to get a bit of snow tonite and tomorrow and it's cold but not as cold as you have. Have a good day.

  16. I always tell hubby he can come in and warm up while shoveling but we chose to go south where it's warm so he stays outside a lot as it's too cool in the house.
