It takes courage to grow up!

Oh I wish---- but--It is Sunday, so that seems like a good day "NOT TO WORRY"--I hope to get to the grocery store this morning--Of course I need bananas ---veggies--- and something to dilute the soup Himself made yesterday-- He put a whole package of spaghetti  into his soup--so, it seems that the Spaghetti took over the whole pot--  There is no soup--Funny how people forget how to cook eh?  He used to make the best soup ever!

And before I forget, my weight finally dropped , after Halloween--187 is what I weigh-- It took forever to get from 187.5 --to to-day--I can hear the ol' fat cells screaming--"Where is all that chocolate that we had over Halloween ?"---a lot of "mind over matter"  for me!

I'm beginning to think that little Lopez is never going to be trained to do his business outside-- We opened up the hallway yesterday, which gave him more area to roam in, besides the kitchen/nrsy----and---  well, he did his business out there---I was ready to cry! --Son #3 told me that I must be louder--more demonstrative --- tell him that I am the boss--  stop holding him--spray him more--  Lord love a Duck!---That is not me!~

Courage--- I need more of "that"---So-----time to "hit the road" here-"bring home the bacon" as Mom used to say--AND--- enjoy this day--SUNDAY--- play the piano--Sing----Dance a bit-- It's a new day, and we are part of it!

--my favourite people----in the whole wide world!!

  1. That's my goal exactly for today!! You are AWESOME with your weight loss!! WOOHOO! I had 3 chihuahuas. If you're able to train a chihuahua you're able to train anything! LOL True. They are by far one of the most stubborn difficult to train dogs imho. What an adorable family.

  3. Yay you on the weight loss.
Yes, older people do sometimes forget how to cook. Perhaps some pasta sauce in the soup and call it spaghetti. Lol
Gosh on Lopez. I was hoping he'd get IT. He's a stubborn One! Yep, teach him who's boss (he is lol).
    Have a good Sunday.
    Beautiful family!!!

  4. Stay safe, grocery shopping on a Sunday, of all things. Covid is spreading again. Looks like you forgot to read that Chihuahua book, no surprise now though. Who talked you into getting a Chihuahua? All you can do is make the best of it now, no complaints. Wish you could play the piano more though. Makes you smile……Take care of yourself…..

  6. Good morning Lynda! You are doing great with your weight-loss. I'm happy for you.

Are you having Thanksgiving at your house this Week? We're traveling to be with our son/DIL and his family. I've already started talking to myself about watching the "calories".

    Have a nice Sunday!

  7. Oh my. Hope you can perform a soup rescue!

Congrats on the weight release! You have worked so hard!

Oh I can only figure that since it’s new territory for Lopez, he’s exploring and ‘marking’. Not good, but they do grow out of that.

I have to agree w/you. People nor animals respond to meanness. Doesn’t work. You don’t want Lopez afraid of you!

    LOVELY picture of your family.

Little Lopez...what a wee pup to cause so much work....he WILL learn, don’t fret, he’s just a baby!
    What a lovely family....❤️❤️ Eissa7

  10. You are doing great with the weight, and with taking care of you! Hope you have enough pots (or big enough one) to hold the rescued soup. You certainly have enough family to share it with!

    Happy Sunday!

  11. Lopez will get trained. You can't expect a dog to be fully house trained to do his business outside until they are 5 months old. By that time they are pretty much mature in their organs including their bladder.

Did you try researching tips on how to house train a puppy? How old is Lopez now? They actually have some good tips on the internet on how to house train a puppy.

  12. I agree with you. I am against harsh training. That will only frighten the little guy! And spraying? Same thing. Have you still been using the bell? He might just have been testing to see if the new area was okay to 'go' in.

    Happy for you about your weight! We CAN do this! {{{HUGS}}}

  14. Hello. I kept trying to comment, but it would not let me.

I wanted to say that I have heard that littler dogs are notoriously hard to housebreak, especially Chi's, so I would just keep at it. I had a BIG dog that took from 4 months to 9 months to housebreak. He would stand there at his food bowl and urinate while eating. I had had enough by then and I bought one of those washable "diapers" for male dogs. They just wrap around his wee wee area. TRY IT! You put a pad in the bottom of it and then just strap it on him when he's walking around in the house. If he's anything like MY dog was, the very first time he got wet he didn't like it and never went in the house again, well, up until he got very ancient. Then he got dementia and went pee and poo in the middle of the night. By then I had laminate floors and I just put old runners down and a throw piece of carpet that I didn't care about. I had to once again use the doggie diapers for him, but it wasn't a problem. He would be wet in the morning, but I just changed them out the next night. He could still go poo as normal. Of course, you may be talking about number two, and in that case, I'm not sure, but be sure you DON'T free feed. If you free feed, you never know when they might "have to go." With my present dog, I know that he has to go three times a day, and I take him out at those times. First thing in the morning when I get up, midday, and then before his bedtime, which is 9 pm. The thing to do is watch them like a hawk and do NOT let them anywhere where you can't see. You don't want to even allow ONE slip up, or they will think they can just go in the house. If you can't supervise, you crate them. I'm a bit OCD, so I was absolutely paranoid they would go pee or poo in the house, so I used to take them out every 20 minutes. Good luck! Worked for all my dogs. I don't know how you did it for the Germans, but little dogs are quick and wily. They like to sneak off where they can't be seen, and do their business. LOL.

  15. Sorry about the soup...Is Fred doing better otherwise? Did you take him to the store with you?
That thing with Lopez is why I have not gotten a puppy yet.

  16. I have also heard that little dogs are the hardest to train. Lopez will get it eventually. Dogs are smart. I had a pretty lazy day myself today. I'm starting to enjoy the weekends a little too much!

  18. Congrats on the weight drop Lynda, that is excellent. 'Carry on' as Prince Philip was fond of saying.

Uh oh, sounds like Lopez is getting the upper hand. I've had two Chihuahuas - one trained so easily & quickly. The other never fully trained and even at 7 years old, she could not be trusted to be in a room alone. Little devil would do her business right there if she was alone! I wish you all the best my friend.

As for the soup, it is natural to not remember completely, things like how to make things. As we age, our brain sure deteriorates and is so darn forgetful. Take some spaghetti out of the soup & store it in fridge for another day, another recipe. It will work out.

Hugs to you, Fred, Beau, Sushi & Lopez.
