Better t blog late--than never!

I am here--I miss yu all too!-- This morning I had a weird call from  someone--a recording---  telling me to push #1 and it would stop whatever they were going to do--or what they said had happened-- Weird! --I did report it to our Police who told me to report to to the Dept. of Crank calls---or whatever they were called--  I did not push #1 --I hung up--- --which was a good thing--

It is not a good thing to get those kind of calls-- They used to come in with Credit Cards-- telling you that someone in some foreign country had used the card and to give them all the information on the card--  This  time, it was a scam on the Social Insurance card--and it had a local phone number . When I used the cell phone to call that local number, I was told there was no such number. So----The only thing I really lost was a lot of time---changing pass coders etc--

We had freezing rain overnight---  then sleet --and now just fog and rain.--It looks like a messy day out there!

And, I tried to get an appointment with an Optician here in town for a pressure check on my eyes with the new meds, but all Opticians are on strike. Now, doesn't that just "rot yer socks', as Mom used to say?--But I heard that they may be back working in a couple of weeks. Who knows eh?--- So, to check the pressure in my eyes, I would have to drive to Sudbury in the winter--- Lordy Be!---

Lopez  is doing well---  kinda getting the message to head to the front door to get outside to do his business---( No plastic part has come out of him yet)--Sushi still shocks me when I see her on the main level of the house mooching around-- and big beau  just wonders where Tess is--

I am going to read the best seller, "Maid"---  I downloaded it on my kindle. Have any of you read it?

One more thing--20 minutes on the Dreadmill this morning-- It felt good!

Hand in there-- Never do what the Crank call callers tell you to do--and be kind to  yourself! Lord love a Duck! WE deserve it--

  2. I get so many of those calls. I don't even answer if it's not a phone number I recognize. Sometimes they leave voicemails - those get deleted right away. Honestly, we can't be left alone in our own homes!!!

  3. Good on you for not falling for that scam stuff.
Rot your socks lol. I Like that one.
Sorry you can't get an eye pressure check easily....seems not much is easy now.
Excellent with 20 min on treadmill. Yay you. I walked 4 miles this morning. Its now spritzing and the temp dropped 20 degrees in an hour.
I do hope Lopez is ok and that he'll figure out the potty routine consistently.
    Poor Beau missing Tess.
Does Sushi only come down in the evening?
Hope you don't have to go out...sounds nasty.
    Hugs
    ..be safe

  4. Not a nice day here either but today is just rain, not snow. Maid sounds like a good book. I'm sure you will enjoy it. Keep on keeping on with that treadmill and good luck with Lopez. Hi to Sushi too!

  5. Yes, that is a scam call for sure, and glad you didn’t push any buttons and hung up! And hopefully reported it, too. Glad you changed your pass codes. WE have caller ID and if I don't know the #, sorry Charlie (or Charlene!) not answering. If it's important you'll leave a msg. and I'll decide to call (or not!)

OH my goodness. The opticians are on strike? What are they striking for? Good luck getting your pressures checked. **SIGH**

Awww, glad that Lopez is getting the idea! Poor Beau – I am sure he misses Tess a lot! And little Sushi – she’s come a long way since you brought her in from the cold!

Good job on 20 minutes on the dreadmill! Awesome.

    HUGS

  6. Great job doing double-time on your Dreadmill.

We get a lot of unsolicited calls on our home landline which we never answer. On our cell phones, if the caller is not in our directory we don't answer but check to see if a message left. The number of these nuisance calls to our cell phones has been steadily increasing.

  7. Glad you contacted the police about that stupid call. We get so many, the phone company still takes the Robo call money, so they keep on doing it. Can’t be careful enough.

  8. Yes we sure miss you when you are busy....but thankful you are here
today....interesting blog. Here in the States we get bombarded with
car warranty calls, and the ads about medicare are driving me crazy...lol
Our twins are here, still in hospital of course, but they arrived on Monday...good heavens....twin great grandbabies...both girls....
Keep up with the Dreadmill and your pounds will be rolling off...

  9. Lynda, I never, not ever, pick up my phone when I don't know the caller. I tell my sister, who is older, not to pick up hers either but though she has a landline (I do too), she doesn't have one that will show who is calling and these kind of people you're describing prey on people like her. It's maddening and also a worry.

It's wonderful that after all this time, Sushi now feels comfortable about coming downstairs. And I think of you daily, about housebreaking Lopez, those wee Chi's sure have a mind of their own. My two certainly did, they thought they were the boss of my house but found out differently in no time, LOL.

Hugs to you, Fred & the pets.

  10. Those crank callers somehow seem to have gotten our cell phones now and even send scammy text messages! Best to be suspicious. Glad you reported it!

Sushi sounds like she is taking over the place and I'll be wee Lopez will be bowing to her will as time goes on.

  11. Yep, I just do not pick up the call if I don't recognize the number or have it saved with a name. I figure if it's a real thing they will leave a message.

If you're worried about the pressure in your eye could you go to an urgent care locall to have the pressure checked?

I have not read Maid, but watched it on netflix. Having been in an abusive marriage and raising my daughter alone, it was not easy but well-done.

Yay for pet-love and dreadmill time. :)

    Happy Wednesday!!

  12. Glad you got your phone problem fixed. I hate crank callers. Unfortunately I have a landline and I don't have caller ID but I have learned if I answer and no one says anything right away I hang up. If it is someone I know I hope they call back if not that is their problem. I also try to remember to let it go to my message machine but I get tired of hearing the phone ring.

    Great job on the treadmill!!!
