It's important to have a twinkle in your wrinkle!

Yesterday was such a busy day---but, it all turned out OK---  Himself is still here at home, in the land of the living--no results from that monitor he was wearing, but he now goes to see a heart specialist in early December.

I took him in to see his Doctor yesterday afternoon and he was a major attraction in there. Everyone--Doctors, Nurses, secretaries--they all came in to visit with him and he simply loved all the attention! I think I should drop him off more often at his old clinic as I don't think I've ever seen him as happy.---

AND-----more good news --My weight is now 188.5----so, I am now ploughing thru the 180's which I haven't seen in years----We took Lopez in the car crate with us and when I took Himself into the clinic, I left Lopez in his crate in the car--- when I went out to check on him, poor wee fella was howling----  -I figured I best take him into the clinic, cat crate and all. Well!--The staff had him out, carrying him all over to visit with all the DRs--and Lopez loved the attention too-

This tiny little sweet dog sure can become a "holy terror" when he needs to get outside and doesn't understand what is making him go absolutely crazy--  This morning I decided that maybe a few sprays of water might stop him chewing my slippers or whatever he can sink his teeth in--and it worked--but--I did feel pretty awful!
Sushi, the cat who came in from the cold and who sneaks downstairs now , even came to see what all the chaos was about.--

It is cold---just below zero---but sunny, so I shall hoof it to the corner and back----

Our daughter in Ohio called yesterday wondering how we are going to handle Christmas---she won't be up here till March and did not feel that a Xmas exchange was needed for her children as she feels they just have too much--- What to do--what to do?----  I wish we could all  travel to some deserted island and eat to out hearts content--  and sit in the sun on a sandy beach. anyone want to join us-?

  1. Sounds like the doctor visit was the highlight of everyone’s day! Lots of smiles all around, happy people. Good thing you took little Lopez inside, to get extra attention. Enjoy your walks in the cold, helps you feel better, too!

  4. Sounds like a Zoom Christmas with daughter might be just the thing. And it also sounds as though wee Lopez and Himself have similar socialization needs! You're doing so great! Keep on keeping on, as they say.

  5. So both Himself and Little Lopez got their attention quota yesterday! Nice job. Glad that Himself will see the cardiologist in December. He must have checked out all right or I would think his Dr. would have tried to get a sooner appointment. That’s all good.

Congrats on your weight release! You are doing an awesome job.

Don’t feel awful! I used to spray water when Miss Lilly chewed on inappropriate things, too. They learn. And Sushi is getting adventurous!

OMG! My SUV is packed and ready to go NOW. Just send directions. If it’s warm, sandy and beachy, I’m game!

    Have a good Wednesday!

  6. I would love a sunny beach vacation!

What I would do for my gandchildren, if I had the wherewithall, is start them savings accounts.

It does sound like you had a great day yesterday.

I am surprised that Lopez chews things he's not supposed to because I know you have lots of toys for him. Are they chewy type toys?

My eye appointment and our covid boosters were both cancelled yesterday. Other than that, I had a good day, too.

    Let's think ahead to spring! {{{HUGS}}}

  7. You are doing so well with your weight. I was doing well but I have gained back four pounds. It's amazing how visits to see old friends can make everyone feel so much better. Have a great day!

  8. That sounds like a plan, it would be nice to go away to someplace warm and soak up the sun.

Sounds like Lopez had a good day along with himself.

    Have a great Wednesday

  9. Awesome to be in the '80's. Good to hear Himself has an appt. set up now to see a cardiologist. Hope all turns out fine with him. Must be nice to finally have Sushi brave enough to venture downstairs.

  10. I’m happy things are going well for you now! A warm winter vacation would be so nice right now. I had to cancel our February trip to Florida and just heard back yesterday from the property manager. I guess it will be another year of staying home but we have lost the place we’ve gone to for years so it will be a search for another when things get better. Have a good day! 👍🌞

  11. Sorry to read Himself is having problems! I can picture him at the Dr's office yesterday with all that attention...I know his smile was from ear-to-ear 🥰 I am so happy for you getting into the 80s...thats what I'm trying to do too! I know how hard it is 🥴 Lynda, you're doing a great job!

  12. Lynda, for the little ones in my family - I know they have plenty of everything so I put money in their Education Fund that their parents have in the bank. They will appreciate that money when they go to university & if they choose not to further their education, it will help them purchase their first car, etc.

Ohh, seeing his old stomping ground and many friends would really make him happy & feel alive. Try to take Fred there often.

I honestly never had a puppy chew things. I did find out from the vet what to give them to chew as they were growing, I think they need it for teething? And beautiful Sushie must be getting used to the little howler in the house now, LOL.

Enjoy today. Hugs to you all, Gloria.

  13. Sounds like yesterday was a good day for all. And you are doing really good with the weight loss, congrats. Lopez is gradually figuring out what he should be doing.

  14. I'm with you on your Christmas idea - a deserted island sounds lovely! Glad to hear that himself is going to the heart specialist soon and yes, he probably needs a good dose of being appreciated by others to cheer him up! I remember that was the hardest thing for me when I had to abruptly retire - not being with the people I had been with every day for years and years! Have a great afternoon and great job on the weight loss!

  16. It does sound like you need to take your husband over to his old clinic now and then. Wow!

Also, maybe some furry chew toys by the bed would be just the thing to divert Lopez's attention away from your slippers. Try to NOT get the squeaky kind, though, unless you want him to wake you up!

  17. That is so awesome you are in the 180's Lynda!!! Whoo Hooo

I am hoping and praying that himself' health scare was only that he missed seeing other people. He had just had two great birthday parties that he was the center of attention and then it was back to normal. I know it is driving all of us nuts not to be able to go out and about without wearing masks and staying 6 ft away from each other so I am sure it is worse for him because he doesn't get out much. He just see the same walls (and TV) day after day. That would depress anyone. So I am glad he had another great day. And even Lopez got some extra attention.

Spraying water means that you are doing something good by showing Lopez that is not what he should be doing. So be proud of yourself for teaching him to behave.

Have a great day. You are amazing

  18. Love the idea of the warm beach for Christmas...but that won't be happening for me.
Sounds like fairly good news on Fred or he'd have been seen by cardiologist before December.
Fred and Lopez were a big hit at Drs office. So glad Fred loved the attention. Perhaps he can visit more Often? No doubt Fred is loved, respected and missed at the clinic.
I like the way Sushi is slinking around downstairs to check on the crazy noises made by Lopez. Don't feel bad for squirting Lopez. Lopez needs to learn to not chew things that aren't his toys.
Great on you in the 180s..awesome. keep up the good work.
    Have a peaceful day.
    Hugs

  19. That sounds like a great idea to me! We're having our first freeze warning tonight. Putting an extra blanket on the bed. Sounds like a happy day at the clinic for everyone. Congrats as you breeze through the 180's.

  20. Congrats on the weight loss. With all you have to do tending to the animals and Himself it's no wonder you are on the way down the scale! Glad to hear Sushi is coming down to see what's going on down there! (((HUGS)))

  21. Congrats on the weight loss. You are doing something right. Taking Himself to visit his friends at the clinic could be just "What the Doctor Ordered." It lifted his spirits and was good for Lopez as well. Enjoy the rest of your evening and have a great tomorrow.

  22. You really had a good day with all that you are doing. Congratulations on the weight loss as well. Enjoy your evening.

  23. Well done on the weight loss! Perhaps Sushi is curious about this creature that is smaller than her and feels she could overpower him if necessary whereas that wouldn't be feasible with the Germans present when she arrived. Perhaps a periodic social Clinic visit would work wonders for DH's morale.

  24. Daughter wants us to come up to visit her for Christmas, since they are coming here for Thaksgiving....bribery?????????????
Congratulations on the 188.5....that is great work...keep sticking to your plan.............just curious, how much did you weigh when you and Himself first got together? As the picture you posted?

  25. Congrats on your weight loss very good. We don't exchange gifts anymore either but we do give the little grandchildren something. The other grandchildren are adults now and married.

  26. I think Lopez needs boundaries and you are teaching him what is right and wrong, just as you would do with children. He's a child with a fur coat.
So don't feel bad, he needs you to teach him.
