Lotza action on the home front here!

I am late posting---and it's because  of Himself telling me all sorts of  scarey stuff--like----his heart is going stop--that he is 93 and old---

-This was yesterday----and he looked pretty fine to me ----so, I didn't panic, but to-day I began to think, that if the heart of his is really going to stop, he best get in there and see a heart specialist,  of which he refused to go------so----- I called our daughter in Ohio, who is also an RN--(like myself)--- and she finally talked him into  talking to a heart Dr. in Sudbury------which he hasn't done yet!

Lord love a Duck! Why on earth do men get this way?---This man does no exercise--He never has done any exercise-----and his favourite meal is at McDonalds, and he is a Doctor and he knows better! ---Since he retired, he  sits in the kitchen and watches TV---That is all he does!---

So, to-day poor little Lopez has been in and out--and then in and out again--Beau too--and I have made a huge pot of chicken broth as there is just too much in the kitchen freezer--a lot of "this and that"--- The wash has been done, folded and the rec room and most of the house vacuumed--- because if I didn't do all that, I'm afraid of what I might do with Himself!~A woman has only so many hands----

I cannot stress how important one's feet are---  They keep one moving--and the ol' heart likes that! --And I enjoy McDonalds too, but there is nothing better for one's body than green veggies--and no matter how many times we do get to McDonald's, I do not see too much lettuce or veggies---

This picture was taken yesterday--If yu look closely yu can see light snow falling across the lake---  WE have sun to-day but it is very cold out there--and a heavy frost overnight-

  1. I have trouble getting my guy to the Dr also and then when he does go he is so wishy washy with him. I don't like to be the pushy wife but geez. . .I think I will have to start going with him and make sure his issues are addressed. No snow here yet but the temps are getting cooler. We finally had a good frost so I can dig the dahlias and plant the garlic. Keep moving but enjoy what you are doing.

  2. With everything going on in your house you must stay strong. I hope that Himself does speak to the doctor and maybe even gets an appointment with him. Remember to take care of yourself because you are the glue holding all this together. Sending HUGS!

  3. Well, he made it to 93 with hardly any green stuff, so that ain’t the problem. Can’t go out dancing or bowling, doesn’t play the piano. A little late to change what makes him comfortable. A lot of men and women are like that. Take each day as it comes. A huge house commands a lot of excess work. Think about remedying that, for both your sakes. The worry is not good, either. Relax, breathe….Take care.

  4. We are having a very cold day today again. But today I am going to bundle up and get out with my little Daisy! Sorry you're having so much trouble with Himself - he must not know what to do with himself now that he's no longer a doctor! I'm glad your daughter was able to talk him into seeing a heart specialist.

  5. Hmmmmmm . . . I wonder what's going on behind that statement. Is Himself having chest pains and not telling you? Does he have bradycardia and not telling you about it? I know last time you wondered if he was taking his meds properly. That's a huge concern!

I am glad you called your DD and at least she put it on his radar to actually make an appt. and see the cardiologist. Even though he's a Dr., he may be frightened by all the things he knows, as a Dr. that could be going on.

    HUGS, breathe and prayers!

  6. "When the gales of November come early"... that line from the wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald comes to mind when I see November snows starting to fall. Stay safe up there and I hope Himself lives up to his promise to seek advice about his heart. He *is* a doctor, and as we've all heard, they make the worst patients, eh?

    *Hugs*

  8. We had a bit of snow here today and may get some more this week as well. A really busy day here today and I’m almost at 10,000 steps. I hope by the time I get to bed I’ve reached that goal. Sorry to be so late reading your blog and I hope himself sees the cardiologist soon! Have a good evening! 👍 ❄️

  9. As my mother used to say "You can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink." You can give Himself all the encouragement but ultimately the decision to see a heart specialist is up to him. Perhaps it is his age that is cocerning him. He must know the life expectancy of a 93 year old man and that is why he is saying that one of these days his heart will stop.

  11. Hang in there...hope Fred listens and goes to the dr. to be on the
safe side. I had no idea I had a problem till I had a stress test and
    had 2 stents in June.

  12. I pray that you have a better day tomorrow and that Himself will call the cardiologist. I am sure that would ease your mind a bit.

  13. Lynda, you are such a caring and loving person ..... all of this worry is stressful! Tell Fred to see the doc for YOU if not for himself!! Hugs, Karen (Eissa7)

  14. The lake looks be in every season. Nature can bring much calm to our lives. And it sounds like you have concerns a-plenty. I am glad your family rallies to your side. Stay strong. Stay well. 🥰

  16. Himself is 93 and never worked out a day in his life? My husband could be his long lost brother. He is 74 and has been retired for about 11 yrs and hasn't worked out a day in his life either. His birth father was 93 and passed away a couple of years ago. He sits and watches tv many hours of the day. I work out at least three days a week, watch continuously what I eat and I will probably die way before him. I don't understand it.
