Legend says, when you can't sleep, ----

Well, it's only a legend, but (always that "big butt")-maybe it's true--

Our daughter called this morning, and I told her that that I'd been thinking of her all morning --She told me that was weird because she was up all night wandering around a dark cold house--could not sleep!. ----Maybe I was dreaming of her--- Who knows?---  but--Isn't it terrible when one can't sleep?--And everyone else in the house is asleep?----  And the house is freezing cold---And if you get up and quietly sneak down to the kitchen, and if you turn on the Kitchen T.V., the dog will wake up, and before you know it, everyone in the house will be sitting in the kitchen with you.-----I usually grab a few cook books and quietly read them ---and sometimes---munch on something from the frig- -- I HATE IT! ----

I do find if I've had enough exercise the day before--AND IF----  I'm not hungry, that usually, I don't wake up like that! ---Himself has never, ever ever, had that problem----so he finds it a tad weird when I try to explain it to him---And--I'm figuring out, that people with Chihuahuas, never  have that problem---mostly because they are completely worn out after chasing them around all day!-and--that becomes another story--How on earth do these tiny wee dogs survive to old age?---  I pull pieces from the broom out of his mouth--tags from the bread, pieces of kleenex, stones, grass --The list is endless! ---Lopez needs 24 hr service-----

The lake is not frozen--but we do have snow! Lord love a Duck! Yesterday  I shovelled walkways---  Chihuahua trails--and-Beau and I were out there playing ball!--

I managed to spend time in the kitchen before dinner, as I've decided that if we ever desire cake--(like in the middle of the night)--it must be made by the resident cook (who is me!)_-- banana bread, jello, and applesauce was made--yesterday--before dinner-- (You see, I had to be in the kitchen/nursery  --to watch the Chihuahua--)

  1. Even though Lopez is a hand full he keeps your mind active and your body moving. Maybe he is just trying to help with your weight loss. We had a lot of snow yesterday and it looks like winter is here. Enjoy your day.

  2. Tiny but powerful, that little Lopez! If it's cold and I have already brushed my teeth, I try to just snuggle under the covers and go back to sleep!

  3. Sorry that you and your DD couldn’t sleep! Makes the next day very long!

Ohhhhhh your Lopez is a mouth explorer like my Miss Lilly. ALWAYS taking something out of her mouth (and she’s TWO!) It’s a challenge!

Sounds like you got your exercise in shoveling, taking the fur babies out, and playing with the fur babies.

    LOVE homemade applesauce! So good.

Well, hope DD gets her sleep tonight and you, too.

  4. Certainly hope you and DD sleep well tonight. Take a nap. Lopez keeps you BUSY. Homemade applesauce is wonderful! I'd have to avoid cake..especially at night...thats why I don't bake. Hoping Lopez gets his act together SOON!!!
    Have a blessed day.

  5. Lynda, I rarely wake up during the night but if I do, I never get out of bed, I wait it out, to see if I can go back to sleep & then I DO!

Oh Chihuahuas, they have a lot of energy, that's for sure. But neither of mine were chewers, maybe because I kept chewy toys on hand for when they were teething. Do you have those kind set out for him or maybe he's just a fun loving mischievious little guy. :)

Snow on our ground & tree branches, so beautiful but glad I don't have to shovel it.

    Hugs to all of you.

  6. Just like any baby, everything goes in the mouth. Have you thought of getting a playpen with screened sides for Lopez? This morning when I was out I saw a lady walking her Chihuahua and thought of you. The pup had on a winter jacket complete with a hood with fur around it. And booties. So cute.

  7. I've done my share of wondering around in my living room in the middle of the night. I'm lucky because many years ago my husband suggested we install a gas fireplace in our fireplace - so one flick of the switch and I can sit in front of it. When my son was in Paraguay for the Peace Corps I would use that middle-of-the-night time to write him letters by the fireplace!

  8. Turn the heat on, you would if you were up with a baby. Eat something, warm up. Turn on some lights, so no tripping and falling. Be careful…

  9. Not being able to sleep at night. I have had that problem for a long long long time. I would say it might be a habit but I don't wake up at the same time. Some times it is after I have slept for 2 hours (not long enough as far as I am concerned!!) some times 4 hours etc. I am exhausted when I go to bed so I have no idea why my body thinks this is a good thing. So if someone is dreaming off me PLEASE stop!!!

  10. Beautiful view from your home. Oh, señor López, I hope you'll learn to behave soon. Though he's just a kiddo up until he's about 2 y.o. He needs to be mischievous. LOL.

  11. Snow here too and more coming tonight. I'm sure he keeps you busy all the time. He'll be all grown up before you know it. I don't remember how old he is now, but the teething stage is coming. Make sure to give him the proper toys to chew on. He needs that.

  12. When you get up through the night don't eat any of that baking! Wait til daytime when you can also get exercise with Lopez etc. He sure keeps you busy. Poor Beau probably feels a little neglected! Hope you sleep better tonight - your daughter too.

  13. Lynda, Lopez is a baby...probably teething. Of course, he puts everything into his wee mouth! Also our lips and tongue are the most sensitive to things...his, too. He is learning about his world. Too bad some of it is really YOUR world.

I almost never have a problem sleeping...if I am tired when I turn in. I think about all the stuff I accomplished during the day and all I have to look forward to...good stuff only. It works for me. In the morning when I awake, I lay there thinking happy thoughts. This bring me a good day, and is a Law of Attraction teaching.

    Glad your daughter is okay, though. {{{HUGS}}}

  16. Oh my! When I get a lot of exercise in a day and my step count is well above my 12,000 step goal, I find it almost impossible to sleep.I finally got an app for my cell phone to play while I am trying to get to sleep and it is helping. I have had two night of 8+ hours of sleep in a row! That is unheard of from me. Here's to a good nights sleep for you tonight!(((HUGS)))
