Wouldn't a Miracle , be the best, right now?

I guess it is up to us to make it an amazing day---- Yesterday , Himself and I stayed home--all day---We hear the Covid cases re rising , so maybe it's a good idea to stay home. We both get a Booster shot  in about a week.

And last night, sitting in my easy chair, in the living room, half asleep, I went to turn off the TV, which is controlled with 2 remotes, and my finger hit some wrong button, and I can't get the picture back. --I called the "Shaw" people, but the chap didn't seem to have a clue what to do--even after me "holding" on the line for so long-- In desperation, I called Son #3 who said he would come out this morning and help me to restore a picture-----  Whatta mess eh?--  This AM I kept going over what I has done wrong, while lying in bed at 5-30am------  so upsetting when all these complicated machines don't work.

We do not have snow yet----It was in the air this AM when Lopez was out doing his business---

Oh----I finally got up my nerve this AM to face the scales---and-------the verdict?------  185.0 -----Lord love a Duck! --The battle of the bulge  continues---  Halloween was a complete black-out  for me, and it has taken so much time to get back on track.

I worry so much about paying bills and having surplus $$$  for groceries etc---  I wonder if I am the only one in the world who has this worry?-- I wish  this was a topic that we all could talk about----give each other moral support ---but--"-finances "-  seems to be a subject that  is supposed to be respectfully not spoken of--- The Pandemic has driven up prices of everything--which is gobbling up  any savings, much to quickly-----
Whatta strange world that we live in!
Wouldn't a "Miracle"  right now----like the Pandemic--disappearing-----be ,  just the best???

  1. Yes a miracle would be best! We all are feeling the cost of things right now. And with the holidays coming up so soon…yikes! Did you get tv picture back yet?

  2. I have noticed the rise in gas and groceries but right now we aren't going very far so I don't have to fill up very often and my car gets 43 miles per gallon...groceries? well that is our life right now . . .we don't eat out and I enjoy cooking so that is our entertainment during this pandemic. he real trick is trying to lose weight while cooking good food.

  3. Congrats on your weight, you are really doing well! Prices have really increased and we get a lot less for our dollar now. Hopefully prices even off soon. Enjoy your day.

  4. Yes, we do need a miracle. The last time I talked with my counselor I said "I just need something good to happen". And I'm sure you are not alone in your worry over finances - that certainly weighs on my mind a lot. My husband's favorite words are "I need to buy....." Shopping is his happy place and I am constantly saying "Do we really need....." I also understand about the TV - I am constantly saying if my husband left me I wouldn't be able to watch TV. My little 2 year old grandson has a better grasp on what buttons to push than I do! Congratulations on the weight loss!!! Great job.

  5. Oh so sorry for the technical glitch w/the TV. Hope Son #3 can help.

We have snow in the air here. Not a welcomed sight, but . . . . Mother Nature didn’t ask my opinion.

Wow! 185.0 lb. That is fabulous!

NONONO. You definitely are not the only one who has their eyes on the check book/finances. Us, too, since DH retired. He retired in 2019 (not exactly what he’d planned, but I digress). The first year was difficult . . . constantly re-evaluating finances. THEN . . . the pandemic turned the world upside down. BUT we have a handle on things now. It’s not easy. We have had to change how we eat . . . less meat, more meatless meals. That’s not so bad, a little healthier. Gas prices, rising, too. Have to prioritize and pick ‘n’ choose.

Hang in there. You're not alone. Definitely prayers for that miracle!

  8. We're all watching carefully what's happening with prices and availability of things we need! And of things we want but can probably live without, just not smiling as much. Sigh. Hanging in. Yes, making changes.

  9. Hi! My daughter helped me get logged in so I could tell you that I have been following your blog here ever since you started blogging as Lakeside Lady, but could not comment because it kept asking me for my URL - which I don't have! At any rate, a happy hello to you. Great to hear that you are still losing weight, sad that you lost Tess, happy that you have a new week dog, Lopez, and that Sushi comes downstairs - among many other things! Will be sharing some news with you soon! Love your blogs and you!

  10. Lynda, I do not worry over much about finances. I am on a very fixed income, but I trust...the Universe, God, my intuition...whatever you believe it is. There has been a time or two I had to ask one of my kids to help me, but it has mostly been possible for me to handle it myself.

Remember...you get what you focus on. Focus on health and prosperity!

    Love ya! {{{HUGS}}}

  11. It's a great blessing owning my own place in a beautiful country setting and no debt! Church friends and family nearby if I need outside help. Monthly bills and groceries are not an issue even on a fixed income. God does and will provide. Cast all your cares on Him for He loves you very much.

  12. I hope your son found the tv picture button for you. Notice where that is, lol. Bummer not to have tv theses days, there is nothing but stupids talking on the radio for decades. Fools.

  13. Im with you...we could use a miracle..
Finances are a large concern for us. Prices in grocery store and for gasoline keep climbing. I have concerns and we are not extravagant by any means and don't eat out or go on trips. It is what it is. Ill keep praying.
I hear you with messed up electronics....makes me crazy and especially if customer service can't fix it. Blessing to have your sons nearby. Son will get it fixed.
Nice job on weight and getting back on track.
    Have a blessed day.

  14. I'm the same with electronics. What works sometimes is just unplugging everything for the tv or turning off the call phone. Great you have sons close by. All those calls are terrible. Today I got Service Canada and something else I didn't listen long enough to know who. Glad Lopez is getting the message! You're doing really well with the weight. I think you can still get eye services if you pay for it. They just won't deal with OHIP until things are worked out.

  15. Oh there is a miracle today actually you at a couple already. You woke up, Lopez did his business outside, your son is coming to fix your TV and that is just those that you receive when you wrote this blog. I know there are so many more we all want but it is nice we are still getting some. It is also a miracle you and himself and your family have gotten Covid.

I have decided customer service lately is not what I use to be.... I have been having problems with getting any help on my cell phone and insurance company. I finally got the information on my retirement account. I guess this is how we don't lose our minds from any disease we using it with having to deal with people I am not sure care or want to help us. Not nice... I apologize.

  17. I hope your son got your tv going right again. I've done almost the same thing and it's nerve wracking!!

I had & loved my first massage today, a therapeudic one and oh boy, he knew what trigger points to work on in my neck & back. Didn't hurt, I could have stayed longer on his table, lol. I hope to go regularly but it depends on my DIL who took me. She booked an hour with this same person, ahead of me, I waited in a lovely sitting area for that hour then she came right in with me while I had my massage. Picked up my new reading glasses then called it a day. My back feels some better, I mean less pain than usual tonight!

Hugs to you, Fred, Lopez, Beau and Sushi.

  19. Oh, it's so annoying when an electronic glitcth needs help being figured out. It's rare for me, but boy when it happens!!!

Regarding finances, I've always been pretting open. It annoyed my husband (at the time, I'm divorced for many many years) when I'd tell friends we couldn't do such or so as we couldn't afford it right then. I just went on and did it, explaining I'd rather be honest than have them think we didn't want to socialize out with them.

It took me quite a while after I retired to get my finances controlled and used to a lower income. And now, my word, gas where I live is through the roof ... over $4.00 per gallon. Groceries are getting quite high as well; I still buy fresh fruits and veggies as I feel they're an investment in my health long-term. But I've been quite poor and know how to stretch the budget when I must, so soups and beans stews are a good thing, and cold weather is just the right time for them.
