Almost run over by the snowplough--

No blog this AM---Well this is as good as it is going to get for now---  Hopefully maybe this afternoon--  I have been out blowing snow since 5am-- We got dumped on-- It snowed all night-- I got it done but in the process  sucked up the newspaper, which got stuck in the Auger--A neighbour Lady came over and worked the paper out  with a kitchen knife-

It took about an hour to get the paper out with a kitchen knife-- Bless her heart to help me--  Then I had to blow out by the road as the snow plough came by and threw tons more snow into our drive--  I put the blower into a high gear and  --- well, it was going quite slow blowing the snow from the plough--but after  it did that, it picked up speed--right into the path of a huge snow plough which almost hit me-

So I am back in the house--nothing done inside----  Himself watching TV , sitting on a chair----so, I will not be going to town for my hair--Whatta crazy day!--I shall return to-morrow- to blog a better blog---and hopefully things will return to normal---  Oh--The man I had hired to help me with the Driveway--apparently his Mother died-- so----  he did not appear either----

This , you might say--has been a very bad day----I hope that your day is going better--

Well, I did not give up-- and it seemed like it was a morning --"from Hell"--I kept on going---  The driveway is clear of snow----but----Gramma almost got run over by a snowplough--  Hey, Isn't that a song??--

  2. OMG! So thankful you are OK and not runover by the snow plow! How scary! You have been a busy lady today! Glad your neighbor came to help you dig the newspaper out of your snowblower - even if it took an hour.....at least you were successful and could still use your blower! I really don't like cold weather....and you seem to deal with it so well! You deserve a nice, calm, restful afternoon after all that you have dealt with already today!

  3. We are finally back home from Christmas adventures in Kentucky, Pittsburgh PA and Upstate New York. The drive home yesterday was uneventful which is good and today the weather has turn to snow, sleet and freezing rain so I am very happy to home and inside doing multiple loads of laundry and plowing through the stack of mail to find my desk again. So glad you didn't get run over by a snow plow . . . there was an actor who did recently and he got really hurt.
Tomorrow I will be putting Christmas away but today is a recovery day.

  4. Oh my, Lynda, just one more reason to get out of that residence! The temptations of Fate, my dear. A lesson for many of us older folk. One slip, and who will take the reins? So sorry you could not take a break and get your hair taken care of though. Will you be able to shop on Saturday?

  5. Oh goodness, Lynda! What a morning you had! Yes, that is a song and I am glad you can find humour in the situation but terrible! Sorry you couldn’t get your hair done. I know you look forward to that! Sunny and 45 in Ohio. I had an uneventful day. That don’t always happen as you know. I hope tomorrow is better for you! You look stunning in that photo! Love it! Stay strong, keep smiling and stay warm!:) Hugs!

  6. Oh my goodness what an adventure this morning. Glad you got paper out of auger.
Sorry your plow man hasn't appeared but I'm hoping you can count on him in the future.
    Rest...you've done enough today.
    Hugs

  8. Lynda, you do know it's "Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer." You made me laugh, though.
Our snow plowers came through and did a great job. We were not told to remove our cars, so they just did around and between them. A few at a time, people moved their cars. Our lot is almost clean.
We got dumped on, too. It was the 4th biggest snowfall since they've been keeping track. The Twin Cities reported 15 inches. It was 14.2 by me.
I know when the melt occurs it will give the birds and small animals water, will fill the streams and rivers, water all the plants including the weeds. But, gosh, I want spring to come.
    Your hair is fine, dear, but I know you are looking forward to that appointment. It's probably better for us to relax today and look forward to the new day! {{{HUGS}}}

  9. Awwww, glad that the neighbor lady could help you dislodge that stuck paper. PHEW.

Sorry you missed your hair day. HOPE tomorrow is a better day. Have to say, today has made me ready to be done w/2023 already!

Yesterday my hearing aide (right one) went out. BUT was able to get to the audiologist and all is well now. But that was not until . . .

I got home from ER with Jason. He fell. Fractured his upper humerus. In a sling, on pain meds and cranky as a bear with an itch that can’t be reached. I know he’s in a lot of pain, so definitely just giving lots of slack. Waiting to hear when he’ll be seen by the orthopedist.

    HUGS!

  10. You make me laugh - the grandma reindeer song! Really glad you are ok. That's the most important thing. Your hair is fine. Please relax now until tomorrow. And remember for the future snowplow don't necessarily look for people when they are plowing - just snow!

  11. Actor Jeremy Renner did get run over by his own snowplow...he is in very serious condition...so you are blessed you did not get hurt.
Hang in there, they keep saying it will get better. Sigh.
