Choose not to be a Miserable Cow!

Well, I had a smile from the above--I mean, who chooses to be Miserable COW anyway??-- But (that big BUTT!)--there are days that I do feel like ---well, you know---  that miserable cow!--

It has been a good morning--  busy---  but good! ---  And it was minus 13C outside with Lopez, the Chihuahua,  this AM---He did not want to be out there, even with this parka on, and kept trying to run back home--so--I got the idea, and back we came--I took him out again, justa bit ago, to the dog pen, and he did what he was supposed to do finally! And I shovelled around the edge of that dog pen, as Chihuahuas do not do well, in 4 ft of snow--

and---Sadie--that fabulous cleaning Lady(who is --well---you know--is me--)--came----and she de-furred the living room--lifted cushions and vacuumed  chairs- and dusted-- There is a lot of fur  in our home--- which we live with I guess  all the time--It is so difficult to keep on top of it! --- Beau goes to the groomer soon, so that will help. All of you out there with pets, do you find it difficult to  keep the fur from flying everywhere?

Have you ever tried to manage , with one hand?--  You know, that I sprained my thumb--so the thumb is duct taped to my 1st finger. It is impossible to zip up a Parka with one working hand-- impossible to put socks on also--or----- open up a jar of something--or shovel snow--

Son#2 , the air Canada Pilot is in London, England--He texted me at 3am to say he had landed and was at the hotel--I knew it was him, as no-one else would ever contact me at that hour-AND--It is good to know he is on land-----

He also said the flight was very good , until he was landing--then hit turbulence , and he said the 'plane was bouncing all over the place-- bad weather there guess!-- He never comments on  that kind of stuff, so I knew it must've been a tad rough--He always says, "Mom, you would not have liked that"--- I guess even Pilots do not enjoy Turbulence --They enjoy calm sky just like the rest of us .
My advice to you---  Try to make myself a priority once in a while--It is necessary--  Moms seem to put themselves last --- take care of everyone else----MAKE YOURSELF A PRIORITY---not all the time-- but---- it is necessary sometimes!

Until to-morrow--

  1. Oh my! I’m glad that I wasn’t on that plane!
That’s a lot of snow! Ours is all melted. And yes, I am so familiar with dog hair. So funny, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I think that our pets are our salvation! My 87 pound golden doodle is Velcro to me. He listens to everything I say. So does the ALEXA. The other day I told him that he was so beautiful and ALEXA answered and said thank you. I laughed so hard!!!!
    Have a great day! Jacquie

  2. Lynda, YES...I have trouble with fur. My furby kitty is a tuxie...black and white. His white hair gets all over everything! I like to wear black pants...jeans, leggings, sweatpants. I have to try to remember to de-fur them before I leave the apartment. I don't have as much trouble with his black fur. I do sometimes find a whisker on the rug. Lucky is so worth it, though. Check my FB page if you want to see him again.
Lopez is a good boy. So is Beau. Sushi is wonderful, too. I can't imagine living without a pet. I had to do that very briefly when I moved to MN from Chicago. Hope it won't happen again.
You are right that we must put ourselves first. If we don't take care of ourselves, we cannot take care of anyone or anything else.
Still cold here. Only in the low teens. Don't know if we will go out to karaoke or not. I did get my check, though, and must do some shopping.
    Let's have a great weekend! {{{HUGS}}}

  3. You must remember the above poster and make yourself a priority once in a while. You do so much for others that you seem to forget about yourself. Relax more and play the piano for everyone's enjoyment.
You are important to all of us that follow your daily blog. Take care.

  4. Oh yes, pets and hair, I don’t care though. Can’t clean every hair up, but never mind. Yes, that bad thumb will keep you crippled up awhile! Glad you did not break that hand! Oh my, just taking a shower would be tough, your Himself can’t help you, either. Glad your son is safely in London!

  5. Oh, yes, to the "drowning in fur" here. Every so often I do loads of "cat laundry" which consists of their blankies and the slip covers from the couch and chair they mostly sit on. But that is not enough. Dust mopping is essential for where the dust bunnies gather!

Hope that thumb heals soon so you don't have to do things one-handed! Be patient with yourself in the meanwhile.

  6. Re pet fur - I had to go for a CT scan this morning so had to wear something without a zipper - so black pants instead of jeans, Of course pet hair everywhere! Goes with the territory. Hope your hand is not taped up like that for too long - very hard to do most things with one hand. I like the saying about making yourself a priority - you need to do that! Glad your son landed safely - that takes skill with turbulence.

  7. OHhhh boy, I surely needed to see that meme! Must have been a ‘cow’ day . . . or at least for me it started out that way! BUT much better now.

Awwww, sorry Lopez, wasn’t happy with the cold. I don’t blame him BUT glad that he did his biz finally.

Ohhhhhhhh boy, again, I identify on the operating with one hand situation. DH broke his left (dominant) arm so I am tasked w/doing lots that he’d ordinarily do That’s fine. I survived. LOL

Glad that Son #2 landed safely in London.

YES Yes Yes . . . . . when times are challenging especially, we need to be sure we make ourselves a priority. Good advice!

  8. Hi Lynda. Enjoyed your blog....please remember to make YOU a priority. All of us need you and your daily shares.
My beloved cat passed a few years back at 17yo. He was a long haired Ragdoll...beautiful but man oh man did he have hair to spare and share he did.
A turbulent flight sounds frightening. Glad son let's you know he's landed safely...but...maybe not at 3am.
Hard to zip your parka and many other tasks. Sure would be difficult to open a jar. Sure hope thumb heels quickly.
    Be safe and stay warm.
    Hugs

  9. I cleaned today and oh my gosh the amount of fur everywhere! My Daisy goes to the groomers on Tuesday. I brushed her yesterday but she hates it. I got a big handful of fur and could have gotten so much more if she would have let me. And then the cat who's older than dirt but refuses to die - her fur is just falling out in clumps. She sleeps pretty much all day long now and I fully expect one day she will have passed on during the night. She was my mother's cat and my mom's been gone almost 17 years now. But I do love my Daisy and wouldn't ever want to be without her!

  10. My kitty was a Maine Coone, had such long thick hair....flying everywhere and never could keep up....Davids' & my dog both had long hair, she was a little red Pomeranian and he was a Shih Zhu mix...mercy. Sammie was 16, my kitty Junior was 20, Davids' dog was l8. Still miss them...they had such personality....
Glad #2 landed safely.....you should put yourself at the head of the line. I had a lady tell me Friday her dr. said caregivers die before their patients....because they don't take care of themselves and get a much needed break.

  11. Yep on the hair everywhere for 35 years from 3 consecutive double-coated American Eskimo Spitz dogs! We waited several years before wanting another dog and my #1 consideration was a non-shedding dog -- our Maltipoos have a single layer of hair and do not shed. Every so often, like digging through the coat closet on the rare occasion we need one, I'll find a few long, silky, white strands from our former occupants.

  12. My two kitties shed a lot too. And starting Thursday, I will be taking care of my friends' cat while they are snow bugs for several months. And their cat sheds twice as much as mine! I just vacuum a lot! I have been thinking about one of those automatic self driving, round-looking vacuums - I have heard they are wonderful for cleaning up fur! But very expensive. Need to do more research! Hope that your thumb heals soon!
