It all begins and ends in your mind-

When one feels "older than old"--remember the above--"Age is of no importance unless you're a cheese"--
It is a new year 2023---exciting! ---Nothing on the slate--YET! ---Did you stay up to welcome in the New Year?--  From what I read yesterday, most of us went to bed--and are welcoming   this new year this morning--"bright eyed and bushy tailed!"

It is fairly mild outside-- no snow falling--  icey when walking--  Lopez and I  went up the back road and he did what he was supposed to do--We have huge chunks of ice falling from the steel roof--hitting the decks-- which have to be shovelled before it all freezes--

I intend to make applesauce this morning-- maybe cookies this afternoon-- I'll see how the day goes.

I saw the above and thought, how true it is! --Life can be difficult some days, but if I am strong, I can  endure  the difficulties-(--But I might cry--like--a lot!)---
---Believe you can and you're halfway there- Lord love  a duck! Things could always be worse-- We could've entered this world as a Chihuahua---like Lopez did!
January 1/23 ---- and here we are--survived the Pandemic, something we could not even have dreamed of--and are muddling thru an extremely high cost of living----
Lots to think about this day--the 1st day of the New Year--  hug your family-- be kind to your pets--love your children--They are muddling thru life also-- and--be happy---

  1. Good Morning Lynda and a Happy New Year to you. I also did not stay up late so just doing my welcoming now. "Bright eyed and bushy tailed" is a favourite saying of my DH's. My reply to him usaually is "If you want bright eyed and bushy tailed...go catch a squirrel". The lawns are partly green again here. A few more days of rain and snow will be all gone. Yesterday I took the Christmas village down, today the tree goes. Tomorrow the cleaning lady comes and then it's back to an everyday life. Enjoy your day!

  2. I'm giving my brain and my body a good rest today Lynda. No thoughts about the bad things, like the 8 lbs I gained in December. Yes, 8 lbs!! How did I do it? By constantly eating goodies that us little old ladies keep being given! Plus the fact that I can no longer exercise, I cannot even walk without my walker!! Other than those things, I'm happy to still be here with you, my friend.

Little Lopez is being raised like Beau, he's learned to stand the bitter cold, where my Chihauhaus would shiver at the doorway and refuse to go out, LOL. You've raised your little guy right.

    Happy walks all year Lynda!
Hugs and love to you and Fred, your family and fur babies. May you all have a super nice 2023! xoxo

  4. Wishing you a happy and healthy New Year Lynda! I loved all of your quotes this morning! You are starting us all off with lots of positive ways to look at our world. I love reading your blogs! I especially like the one this morning about what is in our minds and how we give or not give power to those thoughts! I do not make resolutions, but try to think of a "word" for the year. In the past I have chosen things like "perseverance", "patience", etc. But am struggling to find one that I feel will fit for this new year!

  5. Happy New Year! I did stay up to slightly past midnight . . .we were watching the Georgia/Ohio State football game. Our daughter is an alumni of Georgia so we always root for the Dawgs. Anyway, it was a great game that ended right at midnight, and we were in bed by 12:30. Today is a new day and a new year . . .we are in Pittsburgh until tomorrow then headed to my sister's in NY for a couple of days and homeward bound on Wednesday. It has been a long 2 weeks of traveling but enjoyable time spent with family. The weather was awful while we were in Kentucky and we worried when our power was out for so long in NH while we weren't there but all and all joyous holidays. Wishing you a joyous new year my friend. Remember you can come here and cry anytime you want.

The fireworks began about noonish, continued to about 1 AM then quieted down. We did have some weird music vibrating the walls here from someone down the street. Hope they don't do that again. David is napping already and I am getting ready to drink another cuppa coffee and then get busy..........Have a terrific day, and STOP!!! and play the PIANO and
it will make you feel creative.........and the pups love it.

  12. Happy New Year!

My resolution is to finally get my Mother's genealogy book done. This will require much time and concentration so I won't be checking my PC blogs and group except on a weekend and only as a reward for getting work done on the book.

  17. Yes, life can be difficult. That's why I try to focus on the positives. I do have lots of them...my kitty, my family, my friends, good food, my electronics...and YOU!
Hey, I bought bananas today. Our local chain gas station is like a convenience store. They have great produce.
I was here at the pc playing games and listening to the top 100 country songs of 2022 when the ball dropped.
    Let's all have a great week and year ahead! {{{HUGS}}}

  18. Happy New Year to you, Fred, Beau, Looez, Sushi and your kids and their families! You must feel startled when that snow slides and hits the deck even being used to it. We stayed up for the ball drop. My husband was going back and forth with the Ohio/Georgia game which was annoying. Lol He wanted to be sure Ohio lost. We live in Ohio but he doesn’t care for that team. It will be 62 here tomorrow. A good time to come see your daughter and swing by for coffee. Lol Bananas here were 7 cents, then 8 cents and now 25 cents! Crazy! Thank you so much for your daily blogs. I enjoy them SO much!!! I am so proud of Lopez! He has grown so much into better ways and has become your little buddy. So happy for you because I know how much you love him and how hard it was on you and wondering what to do at times. One of my two yorkies was just like that but so glad I hung in there with her. Wishing you peace and joy this year, Lynda! Stay strong and beautiful! Hugs!:)
