Before you quit, try-----

To-day is "Winnie the Pooh Day"---  Jan 18th--  Did you know that?--I did not even know there was a day to celebrate the wonderful friendly bear---

I frequently use these cartoons in my blog--because---they remind us to be strong, and remind us that we all are so much alike in our desires, and  dreams, in our lives .

Did you know that Winnie the Pooh was created by the author A. A. Milne ?  Did you know that Christopher Robin was created after his own  son,  Christopher Robin Milne ?--He brought the adorable honey-loving bear to life in his stories along with Christopher Robin. To-day, commemorates A.A. Milne's birthday, in 1882.

His books inspired a collection of books, starting  with, "When we were  very Young"--"Winnie the Pooh"----"Now we are Six"--- and "The House at Pooh Corner"

I remember reading  in one of those books, "What is the matter with Mary Jane" --as she did not like rice pudding --- and do you remember that one character in his series visited the Queen?  I loved the whole series and still have the books from when I was growing up--

Back to reality here---With a GREAT deal of difficulty, all the passwords on everything, on this computer, are changed---not easy-----Lord love a Duck! ---I will never ever use those points cards--  ever again!--For the little bit of $$$ one gets from collecting grocery points, it is not worth the time spent to clear up the mess--

Freezing rain fell all day yesterday here ---very slippery--We did not go to town---  but-- it would be nice to venture out too-day sometime.

How are you all?-- Are you happy?---  Are you watching tennis?---  The Canadian players are doing well. Are you a winter fan?---so many questions----

and so I try--- Every day is a chance to be a better person--Before you quit , try---Always try!--

  1. Yes! Happy Winnie the Pooh day! My kids and I enjoyed Winnie as they grew up!

Glad you have your computer squared away again.

Jason and I will be discharged home from his reverse shoulder surgery on Monday. I stayed with him to help as he has his left shoulder replaced now and that’s his dominant hand. The right one has neuropathy, so he needs help with all sorts of things. BUT at least, as of today, we’ll be home!

Hugs and here’s to a good Wednesday.

  2. Happy Winnie the Pooh day...(did not know there was one)...lol....sadly uneducated I guess.
David saw the dr. yesterday for his retaining fluid and causing breathing difficulties. Hope the meds work.
I now know more about nursing than I ever wanted to know. I have to
measure his liquid intake/outgo, weigh him each morning, make sure he takes all his meds. It is hard watching someone struggle to breathe. Hard for me-I have no one to talk to here, or help either.
Hope you get to go to town.

    1. Darlene--- My Nursing background tells me David's heart is not beating properly--thus he is retaining fluid--and you don't want that--but--the Dr sounds like he has him on meds to get rid of that fluid--Poor him, but it can be corrected-- I wish yu both well-- Lord love a duck eh?--We all have our troubles don 't we?--- Hugs to yu both-Lynda

  3. The Canadian connection! Winnie The Pooh was a female, black bear cub originally from our northern town of White River, Ontario? What's even more fascinating is that she is named after the Canadian city Winnipeg, Manitoba. The real Winnie The Pooh was adopted by a man in White River from a trapper and then eventually given up to the zoo in London, England where she met her soon to be best friend, Christopher Robin Milne. Christopher's father, writer A. A. Milne published children's books based on Winnie and Christopher's special bond. In 1961, Disney purchased the copyright to Winnie The Pooh.

  4. I always loved Winnie the Pooh, from going to Disneyland. Had clothing with him on it. When pregnant, did the nursery curtains and sheets with him, gifts of clothing and decorations, All, Winnie. Jewelry for myself. Fun stuff. But never knew there was a day! The boys loved Paddington bear stories, too. Good memories. I wonder if you can get to the store today, get it over with! Hope so!

  5. Happy Winnie the Pooh day! Always a favorite to read to my son, or to watch the Disney videos when he was little. Such a gentle philosophy, Pooh Bear exhibited.

We have your yesterday weather today. It has moved from freezing rain to sleet, and it is on its way to snow at some point this afternoon or evening. The longer it stays as freezing rain or sleet, the less snow we'll have on top of it, but it has built a base of ice underneath so I'm likely to just stay put for a day or two!

Glad you're getting your computer password woes / hacked aftermath cleaned up! Never fun.

Computers are a real pain and I'm not good with all that stuff like you got going on - always have to get help in. Hope you're staying in with all that freezing rain - it's the worst - real slippery. Take care of yourself.

  7. NO, NOT happy. I don't like this aging stuff. I went to a new doctor b/c my old doctor didn't like diabetics and barked at me all the time, as my sugar is not controlled (due to me getting in the way). He thinks maybe arthritis is why I can't wear any shoe comfortably. I am now wearing a walking boot all the time now. My toes are getting numb (diabetic neuropathy). I've been dropping things more and more at work, and we have to do stuff with our hands all the time. My hands tingle, itch, and burn constantly. I had to run around getting signatures so that they will make me new orthotic shoes. It's gloomy out. And I'm depressed. I want to be able to do what I used to do, and eat what I used to eat.

Rough day at the pharmacy when I picked up one of my DH’s 8 prescriptions…$647 for 3 months…supposedly, insurance saved us almost $1000. Now, really??? I hope that you kept yourself away from slippery sidewalks and roads! ❤️ Eissa7

  10. I didn't know there was a Winnie the Poo day. Thanks for the info on the loveable bear.
I'm glad to hear you got your $40 and quickly. You earned it having to change your passwords and spending time unraveling their mess.
Talk about insane drug prices. There is a drug oncologist is considering to slow down DH lymphoma. Our out of pocket would be $3200/mo. No one can do that well no one I know.
High 30s and lots of heavy rain. So glad its not ice or snow.
    I bought banannas today. Lol
Play your piano. Be warm and safe

  11. I love Winnie the Pooh, such a great perspective on life. I didn't remember who the author was but I did know that Christopher Robin was modeled after his own son. Today has been a hard day for me - barely slept last night. My youngest daughter is dealing with some pretty hard realities right now and I'm her go-to person to call and complain. It's hard when I get a call like that shortly before I'm going to bed! But she's doing the right thing and hopefully everything will work itself out before long!
