One kind word can warm three winter months.

I lay in bed this morning--5am -planning my day-----  no shopping----  but--there was shovelling--snow which had drifted close to the garage , which needed removing-----It is minus 13 C---with VERY cold wind---In fact, the poor Chihuahua  did not do his business---even tried to turn around and head back home, and he was whimpering-- I'll have to get him out when it warms up a bit--

I did get my hair done yesterday---and when I returned home, and was out with Lopez, the Chihuahua,  a neighbour I had never met before stopped in his truck and asked if I needed help with the snow--  Of course I told him, "Yes"----  even to make the end of our driveway wider-- AND HE PLOUGHED IT FOR ME-- There are very kind people out there!---I just couldn't believe it!---  And then he phoned his son who lives on our road, and --Now get this--- asked him to go out with his snow machine and help the beautiful Lady at our gate-- WHO WAS ME-----  It must've been my hair-doo--you think?---finally I don't feel so alone---  LOL

This morning I had to change the batteries on the  trackpad-- (of the computer)--and you think I could get the computer to work?--I called Son #2, the Pilot--who was home--and he told me that I had to turn the track pad back on after changing the batteries. Lord love a Duck!

How do these kids know all this stuff?--  Thank God he wasn't in "Timbuktu"------ Man oh man! One must really want to get onto this computer , to have to go thru all the stuff that has to go on, to work!
What  if we weren't strong?---  A woman of strength becomes strong by having to learn all this stuff I guess--It's the journey which makes us strong!

It is going to be a good day--because we will make it a great day---Don't fight battles that don't matter!

  1. Finally some help with that driveway! Thankful for that neighbor.
I loved your closing line....dont fight battles that don't matter. Most things don't matter.
Glad you got your hair done. Messing around in the snow will quickly deteriorate those efforts.
Glad son got computer issue fixed. Darn computers.
Stay warm, stay in and enjoy today.

  4. That's great about the snow help. Sounds like the ones you should see if you could give them something to help you with large snowfalls. The other neighbour didn't seem to want to do anything. Nice to have someone you can rely on for helping! And I think the "beautiful lady" starts from within and your personality - and a fresh hairdo tops it off. Glad the pilot helps with the computer. I don't even know what the trackpad is! Have a good rest of the day.

  5. I'm so glad you have neighbors helping you out, besides your own family members! And yes, so true that we grow our strength as we go along.

And how nice to have had that break to visit the hair lady yesterday. Hope it gets warm enough for Little Lopez to do his business.

  6. Thank goodness for kind neighbors! I am so happy that someone stopped and helped you. Poor Lopez needs some little boots so his feet don't get so cold. Take care and stay warm and safe.

  7. How wonderful of that neighbor to stop and get you some help with your driveway. And poor little Lopez, it must have been brutal outside. My Daisy has been very careful when she goes out and walks very slowly, so I guess her plowed paths are slippery.

  8. Lynda! You have more help! That's marvelous! Bet they'll be back the next heavy snow fall.
Of course it was because of your hair that that the neighbor noticed and said you were beautiful...unless, of course, you were wearing a hat!
Poor little dog. If he had an 'accident' in the house this time, I'm sure you would have been sympathetic rather than angry.
I don't need to change batteries in my trackpad. I have a desktop pc, so I use a mouse. I have one that has batteries. It is not wired so I have that with batteries.
I'm feeling better for a few minutes at a time. Short bursts of energy. Still kinda 'spacey' in my head. My daughter says it takes months to feel completely back to normal.
I will get there...AND IT WILL BE SPRING! I will be able to fill the apartment with lilacs!
    Hope the rest of your day was as good as the first part. {{{HUGS}}}

  9. How nice of your neighbor...not only to plow you out but call you beautiful and send his neighborly son over to also assist. So glad
someone helped you. Perhaps you could begin asking some of your neighbors if they know anyone who could stop and visit with Himself
when you have to go to town??? PS: We all keep telling you that you are beautiful.....

  10. How wonderful that a new-to-you neighbor stopped and offered to help, and enlisted his son to follow up. You never know, he may have driven by in the past and seen you out there with the snowblower or shoveling snow and wondered if you had someone to help out. That was such a kind and thoughtful thing to do, and smart of you to accept the help when it was offered. I think even as recently as the Spark days, you would have felt you could handle it all on your own. If I were you, I might casually mention to your local sons how this chance encounter with a stranger led to snow removal and how much you appreciated it. Play the guilt card, why not?
