An Snowy Saturday

This is me-- late posting -- with "Hair Dresser Hair"----  It felt SO good to get it set-- but--I have been out moving snow all morning, so it will not look like the picture for long--

I did get out , to town yesterday and it felt good to get away-- only for 1.5 hrs however-- I brought supper home. Himself managed pretty good, when I was gone--Lopez too!-- I managed to get to the post office, the bank and the parcel depo-- as well as the Hairdresser   so that was good--

And it snowed all night--and all morning-- I haven't cleared the driveway--was hoping the man I hired might come by, but so far, no luck! I believe his wife is in Hospital--  and I hear there is COVID in the Hospital- Covid is still hanging around!

I managed to make soup  this morning--Beef Noodle--On a cold day, there is nothing as good as home made soup.

Did any of you get out for groceries this morning?--  It is VERY cold--like close to minus 30 C here, so I thought to-morrow might be a better day to buy bananas--

I thought the above very true---  No matter what, 'Hold your head High--Look the World right in the Eye"---
And the above one--  "Be Full Of Joy" when you encounter various trials  in your day-- Look at it as opportunities to learn patience---- I never thought  that way before--  usually I just sit down and cry--  Mom used to say, "Patience is a virtue--possess it if you can, It's often found in women, but--Never in a Man!"-----I can hear her saying that---in my head!

I hope your day is going well! ----Is it??--

One more poster to think about----and now I am off of here to read my book-- I am reading the "Calder Series"-11 books in all-- and--then----  I guess it will be me blowing snow-- Lord love a Duck! -

  1. Your hair looks good. If only your area had a snow removal service, same as a yard service. People that do it for a living. And actually do it, are able to do it, etc. There will always be a reason a neighbor cannot do it, plus they are not insured. What a load you have to bear with that huge yard….a pain in the butt. Literally. Hoping you can make it to the store, mask on, etc. Careful! We are just over our ice storms in Texas, only 5 folks died….a mess.

  2. Lynda, I love the poster about tribulations. There is always a positive side to everything. Sometimes it is hard to see, but your poster is correct.
It was -25F last night. ow it's up to 23F. Still cold enough for me...even too cold. Thermal underwear is important to me...and sweat pants and shirt. It will be good to be able to get back into jeans and tees.
Your hair is lovely. I am so tempted...but will wait til check comes next week.
Hope your neighbor and his wife can deal with their issues. If you do go out to blow snow, maybe take it easy and do a bit at a time with a rest in between?
Your soup sounds wonderful. What's in it? Any veggies? What seasonings.
The pets must be dealing with it okay today. You didn't mention them. Maybe it's early enough that they and Himself haven't had time to act up ;-).
Mixed feelings about karaoke with my friends tonight. It's such fun, but I'm kinda exhausted just thinking about it.
It is Saturday, and that's a blessing in itself. I remember before I retired working 5 8 1/2 hour days and so looking forward to the weekend.
    Have a great rest of your day, and tomorrow, too. {{{HUGS}}}

  3. You hair looks great! Very pretty! Your soup sounds delicious! I am glad you had a successful trip into town yesterday! I am busy cleaning out tons and tons of filed papers! I need to find a place that will shred the garbage bags full of paperwork/bills, etc that I have kept for way too may years (some as far back as 1968)! And then I have my mom's paperwork that I have, and then the files from when I was working and brought home as I thought I would do some consulting - which I never did! So I am overwhelmed....but I need to declutter this stuff! Now everything is digitized and no feels the need to save every receipt like I do.....thinking this will take all winter and spring too! Yikes!

  4. Love the Helen Keller quote! So true. AND definitely the patience quote is true . . . men do not have that quality!

Glad you were able to get out. It does one good to just step away for awhile. Actually taking time today to sit and read awhile. Haven't done that for awhile. Nice!

hugs and here's to a good weekend.

  6. Kathy here - it's warming up for us and it feels so good. We even saw the sunshine for a bit. We picked up a few groceries a couple days ago but soon I have to do a big shop! Although your idea of going more often and buying less is appealing. Sorry you have to blow snow. Your hair looks lovely!

  8. Doesn't hair day just give you a lift? And I'm always heartened that we're putting one foot in front of another, one day at a time... life is good. I did get out for groceries this morning, including the bananas, which always make me think of you... but it's been warm (for the season) and sunny here. I also thought of you because I took a walk around our little lake here, and saw several ice fishing houses out on the surface. I worried about them, as there are open patches of water under the bridge, but seems pretty solid.

Stay safe up there, funny how one location can have lotsa snow and another be sunny and mild! But it's a big continent, isn't it? Bet son #2 sees a LOT of differences as he flies around the world!

  9. Hi Lynda, Your hair looks great! You sure do get a lot done in your 1.5 hour venture! I truly hope that you didn’t have to blow the drive again. Our house is for sale and we had to be gone today for 7 hours so it could be showed…same tomorrow. To me it is stressful to have unknown people in my house when I’m not here…oh well, that’s how it’s done. Sometimes, you do feel more like crying than seeing a trial as a learning opportunity…I’m getting a bit old to WANT to learn some things LOL!! ❤️. Eissa7

  12. Lynda your hair looks great. Sure hope you don't have to mess with the snow and mess up your pretty hairdo.
    Loved all your inserts today.
The neighbor sure isn't very reliable with the snow removal. Sorry.
Did see that son came over and helped GOOD. Would be nice if he showed up routinely but we'll take what we get.
Had to run out for bananas and had to get 40# bags of salt for water softener. Trying to figure out how to get them in the basement as they've gotten heavier. LOL
    Your soup sounds great.
Enjoy your day and your book.

  13. Nothing like a a day at the hair salon to make you feel good.

The sun has been out for a couple of days and our snow is melting away. Soup is perfect for those cold winter days.
