WORRY IS A TOTAL WASTE OF TIME

Good Day to all--and it IS a good day-- IT IS NOT SNOWING----  Lord love a Duck! How great is that?---And, Son#1, came last evening, and ploughed us out-- How great was that?--- (no neighbour tho!)--- I did not break out the snowblower  at all yesterday--just shovelled out by the road--but was so tired when I  came in,  I  thought "I can't do any more!"--That's about when son#1 appeared--like a miracle!

It is milder here too this morning--like  minus 3 C--- It feels like Miami Beach , after yesterday-- AND--Lopez has been out and did his business outside-- which made my day-- I wondered how  using those pads because of the minus 30 temps--  would affect him---  but-- we are OK---He seems to be able to handle the switching back and forth--

I  heard from Son#2 the Air Canada Pilot  this morning--He is en route to Costa Rica --- via Montreal --- Maybe he will bring back some Pineapples and Papaya ----  Pilots never know what is in their cargo.

This is his bag as he was at the train station in Toronto,  heading to Montreal--then piloting the plane from Montreal to Costa Rica --kinda looks lonely doesn't it?--  Notice--Plots travel "light"--

And on CBC TV early this morning, they interviewed a housewife here in Canada and asked her how her grocery shopping was going. Apparently she has children to  buy for as well as her husband--

She expressed how she avoids certain aisles as she knows in those aisles there are foods beyond her means-- plus her fruit choices now are oranges and apples---nothing more-- Hard eh?--  No wonder I return home from a grocery trip  worn out--stressed out is a better way of putting it!--

-It is a struggle to grocery shop  , knowing you must keep enough money in the bank for the month--I tend to shop  discreetly, Do you ??---  Are we all in the same boat??--I wonder always, "Is it just me   shopping this way , because of the fixed income, or this a common practice ?--

-I try to make the "present" beautiful--I do love to read--I enjoy my Kindle--  and--I ABSOLUTELY LOVE MY PIANO---  plus--pets like-- BEAU AND LOPEZ are great ways to help one to relax---
Do you  share the same worries--?--   trying  to make your income cover daily expenses--And how do you make each day beautiful?--to keep your passion burning brighter than your fears--???

--Crazy thought eh??---  but--"WHAT IF?"
I must help Sadie here--  so that I can  grab a rest later----
------------------------Stay Strong---

  1. I really agree about worrying being a big waste of time. I have always been a worrier and will wake up through the night and start worrying about something that's not really that important and I can't change if I wanted to and then can't sleep! I'm lucky with the shopping as I only do it for me and no one else. So I can basically buy what I want within reason. I'm glad son #1 came over and plowed. Maybe you normally look too capable of getting everything done & need to appear a little more helpless to get more help? Guess the pilot has enough experience flying with Air Canada to take carry on only so he can get his luggage when he lands! Relax & read your book.

  2. I’ve heard that old time about worry all my life, and all it does is remind me to worry, was not worrying until it popped up, lol! Glad your son plowed a bunch for you. I guess you can kiss the money paid to the neighbor bye bye, again. We’re you able to get bananas? We had no eggs for awhile, until deliveries finally arrived. Too much ice for trucks to get any where. Read today, play piano, and grin. We ordered some two for one burgers, no cooking tonight. Thankful not to cook and clean up. Take care of your self.

  3. I like your inserts. I'm not into worry. I do chant the Serenity Prayer when things are troubling. That reminds me that MOST things I cannot control so I don't waste my time thinking of ways I can change "something". Things work out as they are meant to and I sleep better.
I'm with you about groceries, gasoline and all the essentials. I do not like food shopping or meal planning. Stressful.
Please play your piano and read. I like that you do those things for You!
Really glad your son showed up to do driveway. I wish he'd do it routinely so your not out there with the blower. I do hope you'll find a smaller place
I know it will be hard to leave the lake but its time for a change. Winter is horrible there.
    Enjoy your day.
    Hugs

  4. I am so happy that son #1 got there to plow you out yesterday. Hallelujah and praises!

Glad Lopez can use the pads when it is so darned cold! Just hard on their little bodies! YOURS, TOO!

Yup . . . grocery runs are no longer fun. They were never that fun to begin with, but . . . stressful now. Requires lots of pick ‘n’ choose and prioritizing. But . . . it gets done.

Some days are better than others, even in the best of times, but in those challenging times, I love my gratitude journal. Reminds me of what is GOOD.

Gonna paste that worry meme on my kitchen fridge. Soooooooo true!

  5. Kathy here - can't fix the log in issue no matter how hard I try. Tom and I went to the store for "a few things" and spent $80. I said maybe we'd have to cut back to 2 meals a day!!! Love the worry meme. I try to remember that at all times. Oh and I also love my Kindle. I just got a real book from the library and it was actually hard to read!!! So glad your son came by to plow. I know we're strong women but shoveling snow is so hard!

  6. We do watch what we buy at the grocery stores, but have been out a lot since David got down. We have called in Hospice, he cannot walk or stand, Agent Orange has attacked his nervous system I guess, his hands are very shaky...hoping for a med for this. I am thankful for our
friends from church...they came today and lifted him out of our bed into the new hospital bed.
Hugs Lynda, we are all in the same boat.

  7. Lynda, it WAS a miracle that your son came just when you needed him! Learn to expect miracles...small and large...every day!
Lopez is learning well. Re: pets...I would put Sushi in the mix, too.

Your son's fruit sounds better than just apples and oranges.

Yes, I shop, but not like I used to. Usually I pay bills before shopping so I don't overspend...keeping some $ in the bank to last 'til the next check comes. This time, I switched it. Shopped first. Will pay bills tomorrow. Wish me luck!

We are all in the same boat. Well, you may have some followers that are younger and still earning a good salary, but I bet they will get where we are someday.

    No snow here, either. Up to 23F today...felt like spring! {{{HUGS}}}

  8. So happy that your son got there to clear the snow. Sometimes you just have to let others do things for you.

I would say my shopping has changed a bit. My mom is with me and that bring in different diet needs. So, I've learned to add new things in and change things up.
