The grater did go by late yesterday afternoon, on the back road--- and--he ploughed in enormous chunks of ice---- beyond the gate--and into the end of our driveway-- I am going to take Himself's walker out there soon, and see if I can loosen those chunks of ice and get them out of our vehicle's way--because----IT IS HAIR DAY --- Lord love a duck!
The 2 Ladies who were supposed to visit yesterday-- got out here--about 4-30pm--- but--- they could not get in our driveway as it was so ice-y-- I kinda give up---It seems like it is just not meant to be--- That is the bad news-- The good news is---- I had a call from a social Worker from a Dementia clinic in Sudbury, and they will visit Himself for sure in March--next month--They had come last spring too---Any help , any suggestions, at this point would mean so much to me--and would help himself.it rained all day yesterday---- but--- like Eeyore, from "Winnie The Pooh"-- who never liked to get his tail wet, says, it did stop ----- in the evening--Eeyore looks like Beau did yesterday--- Poor Beau wanted to go out so much, but when he did get out, he just slipped and slid --his legs going out from under him with a wet tail.
Time to try to get to the gate-- and clear the ice--
I hope that you make this day absolutely the best day ever--
Lynda, be VERY careful going to clear chunks of ice. First of all, if the driveway is very icy, it will be hard to get to gate. From my experience those chunks are very heavy. It wasn't your fault the ladies couldn't get in - will they not come back? Poor Lopez and Beau - hope their next trip is better, Good luck getting to the hairdresser.
ReplyDeleteBrenda-- I moved the chunks of ice-- and used Himselfs walker to get out to the gate--When I came in, I hired a sander to spread sand all over the drive-- I felt so much safer-Lynda
DeleteHello! Please be careful. That ice sounds terrible.
ReplyDeleteHopefully, those ladies will come back.
I’ve been absent from your writings because of family stuff. We all have those weeks, I guess. But, Spring is right around the corner. Please be careful.
Give those pups a hug from me. One for you too!
Jacquie
Hi Jacquie--so happy to see yu back!-- I hired a sander to spread snd on the drive-- It has made it so much safer-Lynda
DeleteBe careful Lynda...you do not need to be injured with a bad fall. Can you not call the city and ask them to not block your driveway like that, beings you are 80 and need to get in/out?????????
ReplyDeleteDarlene--so sad--Your hubby's funeral Sunday--I am so sorry--Lynda
DeleteAlso, my husbands funeral will be Sunday.
ReplyDeleteI hope you do not chance that ice! If you get hurt, everything will go under….stay in, call the snow plow mongers and complain and cuss them out for doing what they did! Seriously. No nonsense! How dangerous. Good grief, so sorry for you.
ReplyDeleteI hired a company to spread sand all over our driveway--It was wonderful--much safer-Lynda
DeleteOH Lynda . . . sorry those ladies couldn't get in your driveway. BUT I DO hope they come back. That IS good that someone from the Sudbury agency will come, too. HOPEFULLY between them all you'll get some much-needed help.
ReplyDeleteHUGS and BE SAFE!

Hard to believe eh Barb- --- another attempt and it didn't work ot--LOL_-KInda funny--pLynda
DeleteThat's just how it is here too only I'm not brave enough to even go outside. I skipped my bible study last night because I was afraid once I got into the parking lot it would be all ice just like my driveway. Daisy only went out a couple of times yesterday - even she was afraid. I'm so ready for Spring!
ReplyDeleteicey--- so icey-- I hear on another road, even the sander went off their road--I hired a company to spread sand on our drive--Whatta great thing --The dogs and I felt safe--Lynda
DeleteGood luck. Maybe you can reschedule the ladies soon! from Donna_cps2
ReplyDeleteHi Donna-- not a great deal of help eh when a person has dementia-- but--we shall go ve it another try-- Lynda
DeleteOh Lynda, how disappointing that it was simply too icy for the ladies to keep their appointment…I don’t blame you for feeling like giving up!! But, of course, you will soldier on….
ReplyDeleteI can picture the poor dogs trying to negotiate the ice, stay upright, and do their business …. WOW!! Not safe for you OR them!
I hope you kept yourself safe today and off of the ice! ❤️ Eissa7
Hi Eissa -- I hired a company to spread dsnd over the driveway and when I got home with the new hair-do-- the dogs came out with me and it was good--safe-- Lynda
DeleteI'm not liking YOU going out there to try to clear ice chunks. Can you call the city and ask them to clear chunks from driveway since they made the mess?
ReplyDeleteCan you reschedule the 2 ladies?
Someone coming in March is something but it sounds like there might be local help. I'd try to reschedule the 2 local ladies from doctors office.
Be safe if you must go out.
Hugs
Hi Margene--It just doesn't seem work to with helpers-- I shall try to reschedule--I did get into town--al;so hired a man to come with a true load of snd for the driveway--It really helped--Lynda
DeleteI am sorry your ladies did not come, but we sure don't blame them, do we? Maybe you can reschedule them in about 6 weeks? Kinda like the worker from Sudbury.
ReplyDeleteI love Winne and friends, too. I have quotes (or I did before my pc was redone) from all kinds of book characters, their authors, scientists, religious people, American Indian Chiefs...modern people, too. We can learn so much from others...and, I bet we teach others, too.
Hope your hair day went well. I am finally getting mine done tomorrow. Just too long...it keeps getting in my eyes. We will both be beautiful. Come to think of it, we are beautiful already! {{{HUGS}}}
Yes--We both will be beautiful--(You are so funny!)-and the day went well--I even got the driveway sanded--Yeahh- Lynda-- Nice always to see yu-
