March is just around the corner-

A new  day-- very cold--minus 26C--but sunny------Even if it is cold, we can  face this day--(but--I hope it warms up soon)-----

- Before I get off on a tangent here, I must tell you that Son#1 came --IN THE DARK -last evening--and ploughed us out--the driveway and beyond the gate--out to the road-- I thank him SO SO much! -It meant so much to me-- I had been out blowing snow with my EGO snow blower--  but---- as the plough went zooming by--for the 2nd time, I knew that  all the work I was doing, was a lost cause--It had snowed all the night before--and ALL day yesterday--It looks like we live in the arctic !----  It was so good of Son#1---  It felt like he was GOD himself out there--

Little Lopez is getting  used to being dragged out in the arctic air each day, but he does better , I have discovered, when Beau comes out with him --- I guess he gets the idea of what he is supposed to do, from big Beau--  then he runs back in as fast as his little legs can carry him.

Son#2, the air Canada Pilot, had to correct me this AM--He is not in Denmark--He is in Holland--He sent an interesting food picture yesterday--  It is "Beet Root curry"--- I bet it was delicious and good for a person's health!

---a canal in Amsterdam-with "flats" beside the canal

The Vincent  Vangough Museum above -----

it is almost  the end of February--  -YEAH!---  And that means March  is "on the wing"---Hopefully March will bring longer days--  more light in our day ---and the sun might even have some heat in it!-
--AND--LESS SNOW----- WHICH MIGHT EVEN MELT__-
A kind Word is TRULY like a Spring  Day---puts a "spring in our step"-- revives or soul---I remember going to our cottage  in the spring, in Port Stanley, with My parents--  opening it up-- the days were cold --not half as cold as now--- but the promise of summer was ahead--My sister and I would help Mom  vacuum up the spiders-- we had a fire on the beach-- renewed friendships with our Port Stanley neighbours and boyfriends---- hung all the sheets out on Mom's rope clothesline's--walked to town to get a milkshake at the Pharmacy there-- It was the promise of another summer--
-always try to be strong (--  don't let the snow get you down--LOLOL)--- a new season  is "on the wing"---just around the corner---
Now isn't the above, the truth-----Hugs to you all---  Sadie is waiting (who yu know is really me)-to give the kitchen floor a good cleaning-----This day has begun----and it will be a good day---because we will make it a special occasion--

  2. Yep it is cold there I just converted your C to my F and got -14F BRRRR!!!. That is about what we are expecting the next couple of days before it warms a little again. March is still normally a wintery month here so we have in the past got out of here for March . . . with Covid and surgeries(last year) and our bathroom remodel this year we are home again for the whole winter. Nice that Son#1 plowed you out . . . .hope it continues the rest of the winter. Did you ever hear from the ladies who were suppose to be getting you some help but they couldn't get there?

  3. Brrr! 7 above, F, here at 10 a.m. That would be -14C, so "you win", lol, if you can call being colder winning, that is! So glad your son#1 ploughed your drive. We got just a dusting here, and sure enough, my son's fiance who is off at a cabin with her parents? Her dad posted a photo of her shoveling the cabin walks! Raised right, that lady! Glad my son found her!

  5. Wow, extra thumbs-ups to Son #1 for thinking of you and plowing your driveway AFTER a long day at work (and restaurant work is exhausting to begin with). Good boy! I believe that the message is now out there that you can't do it all on your own. Also, I'm a few days late in commenting on your asking for your money back from the neighbor for services not provided. I'm sure karma will balance things out with them returning only half your money after plowing your property only once or twice.

It's always fun to see where Son #2 lands and the food he finds along the way.

  6. It was so nice of son #1 to plough you out. With the amount of snow you are getting it would almost be impossible to do it all yourself. I am happy to see that March is almost here and that means spring is getting closer.
    Stay warm and safe.

  7. IMHO, Hemingway was incorrect. Every day is a good day whether you are still in the physical or even when you have passed to Spirit. ;-)
Preparing for the notice to move our cars so they can plow the whole lot...not just the drive through...I shoveled under my tires, the build up behind my car, removed my windshield cover and attempted to pull out and across the street. The plows plowed across the exit, too. I got stuck. Our maintenance man, Dave, and our manager, Sami, had to come unstick me. At least the way is prepared for the other residents that have vehicles. Our side walks are still hidden.
The food looks delicious. Don't know about beet root curry, but I do love beets.
Must go today for gas and bananas. And a couple of my favorite blueberry muffins.
There will be no karaoke tomorrow, so I don't need to prepare for that (get prettied up), but I will miss the fun.
Poor pups! I'm not surprised that Lopez copies Beau. Pets learn from each other, just like people can do.
Hopefully, this will be the last major storm we will need to weather until spring comes. I'm pretty sure we will still have a few cold days and light snow. It was only 0F this morning. Colder last night, of course.
    We will be strong and survive...Just like the Gloria Raynor song link I sent you. {{{HUGS}}}

  8. I'm so glad your son came and plowed your driveway. That was a very considerate thing. 10. Glad son #1 came and plowed your driveway. At least he's figured it out that you can't do it all! You are getting so much snow this year Hope you find another place before next winter! Amsterdam looks so nice. And the last saying - yes it's much better to be on this side of the grass. Here's hoping your snow stops for the next few days.

  12. Sooooooo so happy to hear son #1 plowed you out! Hallelujah and blessings!

The canals in Amsterdam are amazing! And some of the buildings have hooks up top the buildings, because the buildings are so narrow, they use these hooks to lift furniture, etc. up to living quarters. Quite interesting!

    Definitely looking forward to Spring!

    HUGS and enjoy the day!
