Be a Warrior---not a Worrier!

We are going  for supplies--  Groceries--bananas----- To-morrow a storm will keep us home-- I think it will begin here this evening-- I see where there will be a great deal of freezing rain in Southern Ontario--hopefully not here--  "Ice" all over everything outside is definitely not good-----Here,  the ice that was all over the driveway, is now covered up with snow--- Yesterday I drove back and forth on the driveway and packed the snow down--  I knew I could not use the snow blower as there was lots of tiny pellets of ice which could break a sheer pin on the snowblower--which I do not know how to change.---Lordy Be! I have had to learn all this--

Himself has been somewhat better--  I think because he is wearing one of his hearing aids--and he hears---doesn't mix up what I say and he understands what is being said--  It must be difficult for him---not too steady on his feet-- having a wife telling hIm what to do and when--- Lord love a Duck!

The World news this morning on CBC was not good----I shall try not to worry---There is nothing I can do to change anything---

A "Worrier" believes that  everything will turn out the way it should---

I shall peek in here later and see how yu all are doing--- I hope your day is a special day--

  1. You are smart to get your shopping done before the storm hits! Snow on top of ice can be treacherous! So be careful out there! Hope you find a smaller home in town soon! I am miserable today. Can't breathe as my nose is all stopped up! Slept with humidifier next to me last night and felt better but now I am stuffy again and worse of all I burned my hand on the hot steam from the teapot when the lid fell off when I was trying to pour it! Several fingers and my thumb will blister - sitting with ice on it now. Bummer of a day so far!

  2. Snow/sleet/graupel/wind are what Mother Nature is throwing out way today. HOME HOME HOME. Not even sure we’ll get out tomorrow, but one day @ a time. This is a wicked storm for sure.

Glad that the one hearing aid is helping DH. Sure does make a difference to hear and understand what’s being said.

Hang in there. Be safe on your outing.

  3. Glad you are going for supplies today. Storm sounds like it's a bad one. Usually western south Ontario gets it worse than we do. Hopefully it's not as bad as what is predicted. You may not be able to get your hair done tomorrow. it's good that himself is wearing one hearing aid and that is helping things. Stop worrying about what's on the news. Nothing you can do about it anyways and you will just feel bad. And hopefully the new person helping with your snow comes around tomorrow so you don't have to blow the snow! Have a good evening.

  5. Glad Himself is hearing and not misunderstanding what you are saying! Good idea to get your perishable foods just in case you can’t get out for a few…
On my end, I am busy packing, wrapping all types of glasses and dishes, and assembling zillions of boxes! We are not downsizing as our new house is the same 3 bed/2 bath BUT we are doing away with ALL the outside maintenance that living on the water brings. You blow snow everyday; I scrub the heron droppings and remains of the fish they catch every night, off the dock. We both have better things to do LOL! ❤️

  6. Is today special for me? Well, in a way every day is. Just sitting home watching it snow from the window. Periodically going out to attempt to shovel around the car in case I need to go somewhere in a hurry.
The snow plow was through the main path in our lot last evening. It had already been snowing for several hours. Haven't seen a snow plow today. If we want to back our car out of our spot to go somewhere, we'd darned well better shovel behind it where the plow builds it up and between the cars so we can even open our door to get it! I miss the garage I had in Chicago.
At least I have two more bananas.
I believe we will have a few hours tomorrow with no precipitation before the next round of snow begins.
To think...a week or so ago I was thinking spring was coming early!
Have you tried gently telling Himself that it might be even better for him if he wore both hearing aids? Maybe you shouldn't 'push your luck?'
Glad all you had to do was drive over the driveway today instead of use that snow blower. Maybe it will get warm and that ice will just melt? That's what I'm hoping for...for you and for us here in Minnesota.
I guess this is a mega storm...
Like my daughter-in-law says, "We just take it in stride."

  7. I have once again stopped following the news on Facebook, and do not listen to any, either. I get the headlines in my email, and that's all I care to get right now. It seems it's always bad news, and one side pointing fingers at the other. I'm sick of it. The whole lot of it!

  9. It's Kathy - we're in the middle of a huge storm, or that's what they've predicted. So far we haven't gotten nearly as much snow as they said was coming. Maybe by the time I wake up tomorrow morning!
