He who laughs, lasts!

The above was me this morning-- afraid to move, in case Lopez heard me and decided to get up----Eventually I did hear his crate door open-- (4-30am)_ and I found him downstairs in the living room--brought him up--- told him he was a bad boy--  put him back in the crate, and went back to sleep for a couple more hours--

His crate beside my bed, I cannot seem to make it "Lopez proof"--- He has figured out how to open the door on it-- will not do it if I am in our bed--but if he hears me move at all, he decides it is morning----the joys of having a Chihuahua--!  I know if I put him in our bed he would sleep forever----  but------I do not want this "Crate breaker outer"--- in our bed.---  Do any of you sleep with a dog in your room--or in, or on, your bed?--

I must tell you that it is NOT snowing --Amazing! -We are almost to the middle of February---then March----then--APRIL-----  Yeah!!!-----Maybe  the snow will begin to melt---  I hope!

No groceries  to-day--but---- the bananas have almost "had" it--  They are beginning to look pretty bad--

We will probably replace them ---go for groceries, to-morrow. I seem to be throwing out a great many vegetables lately too. They seem OK when I buy them, but within a couple days, have "gone around the bend", as Mom used to say--Are you having that problem??

Son #2, the Air Canada Pilot, is en route to LAX-- Los Angeles--says he will go for a jog on the beach--probably eat some great food too!---

I hope that you "Steer yourself" in a good direction--to-day-- and enjoy every minute of the day--- and don't allow anyone to get you down-----Remember too-----

I am off to play the piano-----and------of course,-------to vacuum---  Lord love a Duck!

  1. Love that saying about the bananas, so true. I just bought four, I’m the only one that eats them. They were just the right color, I still get grocery delivery here, Covid is still in bloom! My son has two dogs, but they sleep on his bed, in this house, I never have them in my bedroom. Enjoy your time without snow! Play your piano with glee!

  2. We have never let our dogs on the furniture or in bed with us. . . of course we have always had big dogs so we'd have to get a bigger bed but that ain't happin' As for vegetables I found these green plastic bags on Amazon. . . . Debbie Meyer and they work really well for keeping produce longer. . .you take it out of the grocery flimsy plastic bags and put it in these. I rinse mine out between veggies. I found them when I was reading about keeping veggies fresh while camping. I even bought some for all of my sisters. Listen to me sounding like an advertisement . . . .sorry. No snow here either and we are supposed to have above freezing temps for the next week during the day so lots of melting . . . .Yeah!

Lopez is quite the rascal Houdini. Oh no, don't let him on your bed...its all over for any of you, aside from Lopez, getting decent rest.
    YAY no snow. Wahoo.
Vegetables do not last as long...I agree. And I'm forever going out for bananas. They are either wayyyyy too green are perfect for one day only. I swear hubs eats 3 a day. Im forever going on bananna and lettuce runs.
Love hearing that you are playing your piano. That makes me Happy!
You not snow blowing also makes me happy.
    Have a restful, happy day.

  4. Love the Dr. Seuss quote…one of my favorites!! We had a parrot that figured out how to unhook his food and water dishes as well as the cage door…we went to the hardware store and bought clips that you simply used from the outside of cage…might work for Lopez?!
Enjoy your day…glad that you are not outside clearing snow! ❤️Eissa7

  5. As I was picking out bananas at the grocery store a couple of weeks ago (I prefer them with a touch of green), another shopper and I got to talking about bananas. She told me that when they're at the ripeness you prefer, you can stick them in the refrigerator and they'll last a few days longer than if they're sitting out. I tried that and sure enough, I got a few more days out of them. Usually if they're past my personal "good by" date, I peel them, wrap them in plastic wrap, and throw them in the freezer for smoothies or wait until I have enough for banana bread. (And sometimes I cheat on the banana bread and use the quick version using a box of cake mix!)

We will get through February. And to quote an old Tony Bennett song, "When Winter comes, can Spring be far behind?"

  6. Kathy here: My Daisy will sometimes jump into bed with us. We keep the door to our living room closed because the cat will sleep in our heads. She likes to sleep by that door but if I get up to get a glass of water in the living room she jumps into bed with her Daddy! She'll sleep at the foot of the bed for awhile but usually is back on the floor in the morning. I've noticed the same with the veggies, they just don't seem to last that long anymore.

  7. We do let Miss Lilly sleep in the bed and she is mindful. She may stir if we move, but she doesn’t get out of bed til one of us is up (read . . . ME . . . LOL . . . since I’m the one that takes her out).

Have to be very careful of the freggies. They definitely don’t last as long as they should here, but, to be fair, we waste very little because we eat lots of freggies. I do buy in smaller amounts now. That seems to help.

    Enjoy playing your piano!

  8. I'd like to hear your piano music, Lynda.

Lopez is smart. So is my Lucky. I do not mind if he sleeps on my bed when I am in it. The thing is, he takes 'cat naps. I want to sleep longer. When he starts meowing and pawing me to get up and play with him, I get up, go to the bathroom (shutting the bedroom door before I go out). When I go back in the bedroom, I tell him, "Mama needs more nite nite." and shut him out. He is so smart...he MUST know that I will do that unless he stays quiet by me.
Birthday party with out friend in the Community Room was fun. The birthday boy treated us to Kentucky Fried Chicken and fixins'.
I only have 1 more banana, too. I will need to get more by tomorrow afternoon. My habit is to eat one after I meditate. It 'ties me over' until supper time.
I've been in LAX...Hawaii to LAX, LAX to a bitty little airport by my son in Carmel, CA. Hope to go back soon.
    Cheers! Let's steer ourselves to happiness! {{{HUGS}}}

  9. I buy bananas fairly green and only 2 at a time so they re usually ok. My dog is a sheltie so they has tons of fur and is not allowed on the bed. She uses the couch in the living room whch is ok as she's the only one. And at night she is in her crate. Glad no more snow. Then you don't have to shovel! Like all the sayings. Have a good night and play the piano.

  12. Yes, we have had both yorkies in bed with us. The older one was 8 months old when we trusted him and then our younger one was actually younger than that because she had such bad anxiety that we had to. lol They both have done very well in bed. I still can't believe our older one is gone. So sad. Could you shut your bedroom door? lol Happy it is not snowing there. It's pretty nice here in Ohio. It was sunny today, that always makes me happy. Your son must be warm and enjoying his run and food. Enjoy your store outing for bananas. Have a great Sunday! It is my resting, coffee drinking day. Do you drink coffee? Take care!

  13. Ahh! Good boy, little Lopez! It was nice here again today and it will be 65 on Wednesday! Hope you enjoyed your Sunday. It was a great day. We put our little Kloi (Chloe) in a car seat today for the first time. lol She is 8. We just went a couple miles to town. I sat in the back with her to get her used to it. Otherwise, she gets hyper and wants to go all over the car and then gets sick. Her anxiety is too bad for a crate. She done really well. When she had her brother she didn't need to because she always done what he done which was lay down but now we had to make a plan. It's kind of a tether deal like you do with Beau.
