Need summer Now!

I NEED SUMMER NOW! -----  just cannot wait until April-- Please God---Can you make it sorta happen--sooner than later?--(-but--I know it is not going to-)--  because for sure, we have February--then March---- but-----THEN APRIL----Yeahhhhhh for April!

I was out trying to remove the ice from around the gate, so the 2 gates will close--terrible job--but ( always the big "butt") ---- I found if I poured salt down the hole where the one pipe is that goes into the ground-- then came in and had breakfast--THEN----  the pipe would lift up and the gate will open and close--- You see, this is stuff I never had to worry about when Himself was "my right hand man."-----

Yu can see how the 2 gates meet--  those poles going into the ground get stuck in the ice in the winter--that picture was taken way before Christmas when we didn't have 600 feet of snow around and on the driveway.--(Well, it feels like 6000 feet of snow out there right now)_

My  out of control hair --like in the picture, reminds me that I really cannot control everything---- I just hope that I can get to the Hair Lady  as the weather person predicts freezing rain this afternoon--

There are so many things that I never thought in my "older age" that I would be doing- Do you find that in your life?---  #1. Snow blowing--even being able to use the machine
--------------     -#2.  washing our vehicle---  even at the car wash--
--   #3.--  trying to figure out what could be wrong with the car when something happens--    and filling the washer fluid in it---No idea how to do that!
#4---hoping and praying that another appliance will not break down as they are so expensive to replace--
#5.-Looking inside our garage, and not knowing what on earth I am ever going to do to move all that stuff, when I don't even know what half of it is--

I figure it has been a good day, when I look at the clock, and it says 7pm . I know then that I made it to almost  time to rest , in that easy chair, before bed, and another day begins--
Good thing that we are strong--  Good thing that we do listen to the silence --and our heart--because it knows that we CAN carry on---  and we are-- and sometimes, a neighbour, or a grown child,  does stop in and  gives us a hand.  Bless their heart eh?---
Lord love a Duck! When we are young, we can hardly wait to grow up--Isn't that so true?
I hope you all count your dreams to-day-- and even dance among the stars--It's a good day to dance--- I even hear the music! ----

  1. Reading your tales of show and ice make me feel so fortunate to live in Southern California. We bundle up and complain of the cold anytime it’s below 60F Lol. I did live in Oregon for a year and studied/lived inEurope for 5 years, but always came back to California.
Had to laugh at your question about the garage. Here, the garage is our basement. All 3 of my adult children use my garage for storage, I can only imagine with your brood. Sometimes, if you don’t know what it is, or haven’t even looked at it for awhile, you just need to throw it away.
Hope you find a nice place to move to and that himself easily adapts. Smiles to all. πŸ˜„πŸ˜„πŸ˜„

  2. Interesting questions today. I hear you. Had to add washer fluid to car and couldn't find the prop to keep the hood open lol. All sorts of things come up....like getting 40# bags of solar salt downstairs for water softener. Made it. Once I got it from garage to steps I used an oven mit to drag it the rest of the way lol. First bag cut up my hand. As far as the stuff in garage, your boys likely know what it is and might want it OR have an estate sale and sell excess furniture and garage stuff. I do hope you can find a smaller place that works.
Your winters are so harsh. I don't know how you do it. You are amazing. Hoping you can get to town for hair. Freezing rain is nothing to mess with.
    Play your piano.

  4. OH my dear Lynda, adding my prayers to your that spring comes sooner than later.

Getting rain/snow mix and it is plenty icy out here, too. Took Miss Lilly out for her afternoon ablution (aka going potty!) and . . . it is slick as an ice rink. **SIGH** Have to figure out a new way to take her out that is more on the grassy.

YES Yes Y-E-S . . . have a lot of those same questions, for sure. A day @ a time. It’ll all work out.

Definitely a good day to be indoors and dance! Like nobody’s looking!

  5. Marti here. Well, we DID have our summer today. 72 degrees, and partly cloudy. But gusts of wind.

But just think...this will (hopefully) be your LAST year of doing all that! Won't that be wonderful!

And, adding washer fluid is easy. Open up the hood, and there will be a container labeled with a picture of washer fluid. Lift the top of the container, and pour the washer fluid on in there. And, DONE! :)

  6. I need spring to get here too! And winter here has not been real awful yet but I hate the cold. Don't due the windshield washer stuff either - make sure the garage ensures if's full every time I get the oil changed, etc. Cleaning garage out - when I was up north (Parry Sound - not your up north) and was coming back to the city - my brother had stored his whole business shop contents in my garage so it was real full of tons of stuff that I don't have a clue what it all was. Then he died of cancer. I had to get a guy to come and empty it and get rid of everything as it was during Covid and I couldn't get rid of it any other way. And there was a lot of equipment and parts, etc. So I know the feeling but hopefully the kids will help you and take some stuff home. I don't envy you - sounds like you will have a lot of work to do before selling. Hope you got your hair done and tonight just relax and play the piano.

  7. You should have family help, to get rid of stuff. But your story is a good warning to the rest of us who still sit in a house too big, too full, etc. If on,y we knew when our time would come, to start getting rid of things earlier. So as not to spend our elderly years working so hard! And then, if something sudden happens, who will do it all then? Then it all gets picked up as garbage. Now, we can give some of it away, or donate.
Hope you had time for a hair breake.

  9. Lynda, I bet we all do things now that we didn't need to do before. Because we're on our own without the help we used to have, or because of the changing time!
I have an issue with Amazon. It will let me sign on on my phone, but not on my computer!
Decent weather here, but no sun. Not too cold, though...low 30sF.
I believe you were going to have your hair day just a couple or three days ago...BUT that doesn't make much difference for long, does it? Wind, rain, hats...
Finally. My bills are washed, laundry is paid, clothes are baking and dinner is in the dryer. I got this! (I pasted this from a FB post I shared.
I hope it makes you laugh. It sounds like me...sometimes I think I must be losing my mind.
Just bought a new pair of little stretch gloves...wore them this morning...now they seem to have disappeared.
Wouldn't it be nice to forget all our troubles and go on a vacation to that proverbial desert island?
    But, yes, we can be happy where we are and with what we have. That may be the secret to live. {{{HUGS}}}

  10. Hi Lynda, We are in the process of selling our house and downsizing…the moving company gave us a quote for all of our furniture and 60-70 boxes….I think we have that much alone in the GARAGE!! All of the Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving, and Halloween bins-yikes; and then the yard tools, power cords etc. I can relate to your pain. I hate to leave our beautiful water setting BUT it is the right thing for us to do at this stage. ❤️. Eissa7

  11. Lynda, If you can get the hood open, there is a fairly obvious stick that you put to hold up the hood, then I look for the cap that has windshield wipers on it and pour the fluid in that. Have one of your son's show you how to do it. As for the garage, Good luck with that. My husband died a few years ago and I keep ignoring all the tools, etc., but I swear that this is the summer the majority of it goes away. I am going to be 70 and need to downsize while I can still do it. Hope you got your hair done.
