and---- The snow continues to fall----It is "never ending"--BUT---- The good news--- Son#1 came with his big machine-- and blew us out--HE PLOUGHED THE DRIVEWAY___It took him about 30 minutes-- It would've taken me 3-to 4 hrs----So, I re-shovelled the Chihuahua paths and the path to the propane tank-- and, I just heard that a grandson will be out here on the weekend to clear the snow off the propane tank-- Lord love a Duck-- help is "on the wing"-----I certainly appreciate their help---- They are good kids to look after the parents--I know they all have busy lives, so to come out here, and give us a hand, is the best!--I believe we have more snow this year than I can ever remember ----- maybe because it has been milder and we are so close to the Great Lakes--Lake Huron-----
It was wonderful to get out yesterday to the Hair Lady--I even got to chat with some of her clients-- which felt so good! ---And I got there and back before the sleet and snow began--- the storm that was predicted.
That was very thoughtful of your son to come with his snowplow and clear your area, and also nice that the grandson will be coming to help out. Now they need A LOT of attaboys (and $$ and hot chocolate for the grandson?) and appreciation and gushing so they'll think of you going forward. Positive reinforcement! So glad you were able to have a hair day and some talk time. / Leslie
ReplyDeletenice to hear from yu-Lynda
DeleteOh yes, tired of Winter, for sure.
ReplyDeleteThat’s awesome that soe #1 plowed your driveway. And your grandson will clear the propane tank! Hurray! So happy you have help.
So happy to hear that you got out to the hair dresser! Awesome. YOU DESERVE that papering.
I keep thinking the same thing . . . some things that we have gone through in life are unthinkable, but . . . wouldn’t have known about them before-hand. I think that ‘element of surprise’ makes us ore creative in problem solving.
Yes, life marches on and I hope today is a good day for you and himself.

It has been a good day Barb--- not too cold too--snowy tho-Lynda
DeleteThanks to Son#1 for clearing out the driveway and also to your grandson that will help on the weekend. It means so much to have those 3 or4 hours to do things in the house that are waiting for you. Have your sons been catching any fish out on the lake this winter? Maybe there has been too much snow for them to even get out to the hut. Take care and enjoy your day.
ReplyDeleteIt has been a mild winter-- slushy on the lake for their snow machines-- lot of people fishing thno--Lynda
DeleteWonderful funny rhyme poster. I saved it.
ReplyDeleteGreat photo of Himself and Yourself, too! Wonder how old it is?
Yes, kids are wonderful help! We do have to allow, though, for them handling their own issues before they help with ours.
We are having a party today for our building manager's birthday. Pizza with ham and pineapple, cheese, etc.
I found out that the government will give me a bit of help on groceries...$23 per month. Some people who get that little save it for a few months and then go out and splurge.
My app for pension from the Dept of Veteran Affairs is being worked on.
Good day here...cold. Overnight it was only 7F. The sun is shining, however, and very little wind.
I have to check back and see the name of that book series you are following to check it out.
I am waiting for Diana Gabaldon to publish her next book in the Outlander series.
All from me for now, hon, it's party time!
I read the Outlander series too--loved them--The picture of himself and I was taken in 1967-Lynda
DeleteKathy here: I'm so glad you got some help with the plowing. Love the photos of you and himself. You've had a good long life together!
ReplyDeleteWE have had a good life--- and hopefully --more to come-Lynda
DeleteSo glad some of the outside tasks are done. Always more to do, tho, it seems. I've been thinking about prices of groceries and thought it would be interesting if we compared a few items. I am in Southern Illinois (rural area) and milk is $3.43/ gallon, gas is $3.45/gallon, bananas are .54/pound, sugar is 3.56/4 lb; chuck roast is $6.97/lb. I know some of you are on the metric system but it is all relative and doable. Just an idea.
ReplyDeleteI will let yu know --Lynda
DeleteOh yes, that propane tank sure does need to be taken care of, I remember from when we lived in the mountains! Could be dangerous.
ReplyDeleteNice pictures of you from the past! Thanks. How great that they plowed for you!
That propane tank is covered with snow--not good-Lynda
DeleteYou've had so much snow this year probably part of it because of the lakes and snow squalls. I wonder if you having someone else come and do some plowing made them see that you really do need some help. And great that your grandson is going to help with the propane tank too. Better late than never! But don't assume it will continue or tell the other guys they are not needed! Nice pictures of you and himself.
ReplyDeleteOh Brenda--so good to get help-- and I can be inside with himself-Lynda
DeleteI'm EXCITED son plowed the driveway and grandson will come out to help. Better for you to be inside keeping an eye on himself and working on other things than snow blowing for hours.
ReplyDeleteI loved the early and current pictures of you two. A lot of life, a lot of changes.
Glad you could get your hair done before roads got too treacherous. Nice to talk with others.
Play your piano
Hugs
Oh-- nice to have help-=-never enough--but--- its a start--Lynda
DeleteThree cheers for "life going on and on"! So glad your son and grandson are helping out with all that snow!
ReplyDeleteCan u believe it??--LOL
DeleteSo glad that you got that snow cleared. Our snow has melted away, but just in time to get hit with more snow next week.
ReplyDeleteI love the two pictures of the two of you. What a wonderful life you two have had.
Thank goodness the boys are stepping up.
